STATEMENT REGARDING RELAUNCH:

We had a talk with ahmed_bodi (owner of cryptopools and developer of stratum prot. python).
Btw - ahmed was able to set up the pool and it was the only pool which was running fine.

After investigation and chats with ahmed we found out:
Fail of the 2nd launch was the fault of the other pool-owners (i.e. m8,...) who didn't manage to set their pools up properly.

Therefore Cryptopools (ahmed bodi) will provide two pools for the relaunch.
They will be the OFFICIAL POOLS. We guarantee that they will
be running at relaunch.

so someone doesn't set the pool properly will kill the coin?

are you kidding?

no listen. we were all online on IRC. and most of the users (+90%) tried to connect to pools which weren't running.
in the meantime the runnning pool with 3 miners (cryptopools.com) mined about 1000 blocks (500k coins). the community said they want a relaunch because the first pool instamined the blockchain.

the coin was working.

WE ARE ONLY RELAUNCHING BECAUSE THE COMMUNITY WANTS IT DUE TO THE INSTAMINE OF THE ONLY RUNNING POOL.
WE ARE NOT RELAUNCHING BECAUSE THE COIN WASN'T WORKING.

ok, fair enough, shoot it.

During the launch only 1 pool (cryptopools) was able to mine and got MOST of
the coins. As most users were trying to connect to other pools which had a bad config
we are forced to relaunch tomorrow because no "fair" distributio is given..
We will make proper testing in cooperation with the other poolowners and provide official tested pools.

how very professional.

a standing joke Grin

which fool just went on the exchange and tried drop the price to screw the coins value and get the least amount they possibly could?

Someone put up a low sell order?

And remember there are only around 6150 EBG that have actually been confirmed out to people at this point with 50 more coming each block until block 472 when 100 more start confirming with each block.

which will happen soon, trust me

can somebody edify me why this coin is not just a Bitcoin clone and worth some hashrate?
353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EBG] EmbargoCoin MAY/9/2014 SHA256 7Million coins over 3 years on: May 14, 2014, 12:09:38 PM
block 251 has 50 EBGs, it that right?
i think it should have 100 EBGs, no?

Blocks 1-251 - 50 EBG
Blocks 252-503 - 100 EBG
Blocks 504-755 - 150 EBG
Blocks 756-1007 - 200 EBG
Blocks 1008-1259 - 250 EBG
Blocks 1260-1511 - 300 EBG
Blocks 1512-1763 - 350 EBG
Blocks 1764-2015 - 400 EBG
Blocks 2016-2267 - 450 EBG
Blocks 2268-8747 - 500 EBG

Looks like the 100 EBG blocks start at 252. I thought the dev may have made a calculation mistake til I went back to the ANN page.
The blockchain explorer confirms that 252 generated 100 ebg. http://explorer.embargocoin.com:2750/chain/Embargocoin

ya, i guess you are right

CG's not up yet? or he's working on it?

can we just forget about block 29 and go to block 30 directly Grin
357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SOV Sovereign SHA256 6.79billion PoS 144mil PoW on: May 11, 2014, 12:39:53 AM
seems block 29 is really a hard nut to crack, the whole net is being stuck in there for more than 10 hours?

maybe i could expect some easy blocks coming through next.
358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SOV Sovereign SHA256 6.79billion PoS 144mil PoW on: May 10, 2014, 02:20:50 PM
60 * 24 / 8 * 3 = 540 SOV (this is the fixed output per day of mining)

540 * 365 = 197,100 SOV ( this is the fixed output per annum of mining)

144,000,000 / 197,000 = 730.96447

so, the PoW will last for 730 years?  am I right?

the net hashrate has exceeded 1p, is that a little crazy?

hi dev, do we need to leave the wallet open in order to enable the PoS working?
