1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: February 12, 2018, 03:21:06 AM
Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this forum. We have around 500 ASICs (S9 and L3). We are not using any specialized software to manage it now. We are only using the built-in Bitmain's access panel which we login using our firewall and vpn. We tried to subscribe to Genesis Hive a couple of months ago, but their team did not reply.

Could experienced members here suggest which software to use for ;

1. General Monitoring
2. Temperature Alerts
3. Switching Pools
4. Switching Coins
5. Low hashing alterts
6. Batch restarts

Regards,

Maddy

There are 3 factors which you should consider before buying the S9 now.

1. The difficulty is not going to come down.

2. Where do you think the BTC / BCH price will be in a year?

3. When do you think the newer machines will come out and what do you think they will cost?

Please think about these 3 factors and then make up your own mind. As of today, the earning from one S9 is 0.00135 BTC. This is from BTC Pool using a 13.5 TH/s S9 miner. Do your own math.

hi guys,

could you tell me how you do to be warned when s9 are available in real time ? Is there a trick ? You pay someone to stay all the time in front of bitmainshop screen refreshing?!
You keep it secret ?  Wink
Because prices here from sellers are just crazy ( 3700 / 4500€  Shocked  they can keep it and put them...)

I've red something about Telegram ?! ( I precise I'm in europe .)

thank you.

I hope you have registered on the Bitmain site. They send us emails announcing new batches. Its usually available on Twitter also (75% of the time). If you have already bought a few times from their site, the chances that they will let you know about batches increases drastically. I wouldnt trust telegram completely. Regarding prices, you should be able to get it at the same price as Bitmain plus import VAT plus airport clearance paperwork (if going through an agent). It will not cost you more than EUR 2800 to buy a S9, inclusive of APU + shipping + Import VAT + Customs Clearance + Logistics to data center + Installation charges. These are Georgia rates. This is assuming the prices from the last batch.

Please make sure that you go ahead with a data center that does not charge you much to order the miner for you. You can generally trust data centers that make their money on the monthly maintenance charges. If they charge you a huge premium to buy the miner on your behalf, it won't work out well for you with bulk orders. Yes, you need to pay something extra for someone who manages to place the order in less than 100 seconds (It's not easy. Trust me.). And now some batches have an individual limit of 20 machines per account. Some batches are still bulk batches. Hope this helps. Please feel free to ask me more about this if you have more queries. We have been buying regularly from Bitmain for more than a year now and have had a decent success rate in ordering. It was really hard in the beginning, but its smooth now.

You dont need to wait 5 years. You break even in less than 7 months. I broke even on some of my machines in less than 3 months last year. Your worst case now, is breaking even in 10 months. That's assuming this current price and difficultly holds (it never does).

I dont understand. If btc falls to near 2500 levels, u gonna take a few years to break even or never break even. It will probably never occur as new miners come out by then.

If price drops that much, miners will switch to other coins. BTC difficulty will come down and it will be profitable. That's my assessment. We will know for sure when it actually happens.

Whether we like it or not, S9s are still very profitable to buy and run. I've been hearing arguments about difficulty increase for a year now. True, the BTC price jumps helped. But until BTC price drops to USD 2500 or the current difficulty triples without any increase in BTC price, S9s will keep running (approx calculations). Focus on getting a good colocation to place your miners or build a colo yourself. Your machines will run for a very long time if you keep colo costs low.

Also, regarding the newer machines that have come/are coming to the market. I'm excited to see competitors, but I really want to get a few hands-on reviews from regular guys like us, before deciding to stop supporting S9s.

Eagerly waiting for the GMO machines...

what do you guys think about this representative?

They dont let you buy. You need to fill a form to get a quote. You should probably look at the payment options that they give you. That will give you a semi-decent idea about their authenticity.

We've had a good experience with ordering from the Bitmain website. We have shipped it to our data center in Georgia and Iceland. No issues so far. My only complaint with the site is that it is very slow (not optimized for the peak ordering traffic). Also, the payment terms can be standardized. We always need to prepare for any new batch. There is no consistency in terms of what currency is being accepted. Sometimes its BCH only. Sometimes its wire and BCH.

But overall, we are happy so far. We wish we could take delivery in China and arrange our own shipping. It would work out so much cheaper. But that's not possible as of now.
