POW: - enormous power consumption - bad distribution through big mining farms - threat of 51% attack
POS: - encourages hoarding, but not spending - lots of scamming through lacking transparency in IPOs - potentially bad distribution through IPOs
same for all: - length of the blockchain
1. other problems? 2. any solutions?

The term "harvesting" does have a nicer sound to it. Sounds more bountiful and rewarding.
+1 i like it, it has a playfulll feel to it.

Nem & Ethereum, of course!

Looking forward to NEM vs Ethereum battle
we are no enemies!

just simple question- when will be any Alfa or anything for us- after week, month or year??? because after many months we have just bla,bla,bla...and auction instead of just give people from waiting list stakes... IT'S REALLY VERY PITY!!!
It is coming soon (weeks not months or years). There is a choice that does not involve complaining for anyone who loses patience as well. better take years, and make NEM a succes, than hurrying!!

which coins should I choose?

this coin really really needs a forum!

bla bla bla .. can we have a seperate thread for stake-discussions?
|
|
|
Im following this thread since page 50 almost everyday now & it has been a great time the Nem Community is just amazing. keep up the great work everyone!!

When people do the math, and realize what promotional power 15% of NEM (>5000 BTC), plus over 1000 unique stakeholders will bring to future value, I see these stakes at auction going for a mega-shit-ton. Then, this makes the 15% worth even more. Its an amazing idea. 10 BTC easy!!
We will see how the market will decide it. Bur remember NEM is not launched yet and has not prove anything yet. I sold my co-worker a Spike energy drink for 5 NEM two weeks ago, retail is $2.50 so current conversion rate of 1 NEM = .50 USD That's fact. 4000000000*0.5 = 2 billion USD. A 1/3rd of BTC. Hmm very optimistic. so all the stakeholders are worth half a million USD now slavery again!!

let me think ... NAS is purely POS, like NXT, and there is one guy owning 20% of all the coins out there? like, a fifth of all the transaction fees go to the same guy?
currency allready doomed.
Lets have a look at the NEM rich list, 1 or 2 month after release. Maybe you can buy NEM even cheaper than the stake price right after launch. I think a lot of stakeholder from the first 25 pages, who paid nothing for their stakes, will dump their coins as soon as they can. And I am sure some whales will buy it all and have something like 5% to maybe even 20% of all NEM eventually. At First, this is why NEM is PoI. Second, alot of stakeholders are in for the long run, so I don't think many people just dump their coins completly. maybe sell high, and buy more when its cheap.

auction is a good idea, would be cool if NEM would be known for trying new things and having fresh ideas. A community who is not just following old patterns but actively creates new ones will be much more interetsing and attractive to all kinds of investors.
Im not afraid of NAS, but NXTL makes me a little nervous. Hope that market wont get saturated with 2.gen too quickly.
What is differences with NXTL and NEM? I have given a look and screenshots look good for NXTL I don't know what NXTL is, but in case its a copy of NXT, thats a difference.
