221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: {PSA} Is a 51% attack really all that bad? Because it's looming... on: January 30, 2014, 03:05:53 PM
everyone thinks that the second a pool goes from 50.999999% to 51% that the internet will blow up.

"uh oh, looks like this pool is getting close to 51%, better go elsewhere!"
"51% guys, be careful!"

seriously? who cares. Middlecoin is proof that simply having >51% in itself doesnt cause any damage. it's ONLY if the pool owner decides to be malicious. I guess people don't understand that just because something CAN happen, doesn't mean that it WILL happen.

ive been on plenty of pools with >51%, and it's awesome because they get most of the blocks and i get more payout. i prefer to be on the largest pool possible for that reason.

I'm in it for the money, long live Middlecoin!
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][COYE] Coinye Coin - v3.0 ADDED BOUNTIES 50M & TWO NEW EXCHANGES on: January 30, 2014, 02:56:23 AM
If the removes all reference to Kanye West and changes its name from Coinye, fine. I don't see anything wrong with COYE. But you all have to be kidding me if you're denying that this coin's worth consists only of what it sponged off of Kanye West. And it isn't a parody--altcoins are all about branding, and this one is branding itself as Kanye. I just saw a post on the last page where someone was talking about how the coin would take off when more of Kanye's fans start talking about it. Speculators in this coin are aiming to profit off of Kanye's brand/image.

Would I still have taken it down if I didn't believe the lawyers were in the right? I don't know--I probably would have paused it while I contacted my lawyer friend and asked him about it. And if he told me the law was on their side, I think I would take it down.

Those are my reasons. I'm getting a sense from some of you that you think I'm not admitting something, but I can't quite see what I should be ashamed to admit.

dont worry. all these guys are just pissed that they wasted time/money for this and dont really have anywhere stable to dump it. buyer's remorse and denial is a bitch.

they all have these grandiose ideas that it'll get picked up by Cryptsy, or BTC-e, or BTER, etc, and they can dump their millions of COYE and get rich.

if Kanye's lawyers have convinced you that facilitating the trade of this coin is wrong, then it's your right to act on your own moral compass. it's not a bad idea to avoid such legal ramifications anyway, less headache to deal with.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 30, 2014, 02:05:20 AM
I do have failover -

Primary: useast.middlecoin.com:3333
Secondary: MIddlecoin.com:3333

Which is why I am asking?

I am pretty sure your CGminer crashed/froze. Perhaps when you get home you'll see what's wrong. I have fail over set up and it is been working today.

Ah Dammit - that's it TODAY I am creating  LOGMEIN-Session to my miner for these situations, can you believe that Not Once has CGMiner crashed EVER and I mean EVER.... I really don't see those  tiny config adjustments could have effected it, Althought it is 35c , But before I left the house I turned on the Ducted Air con. I really hope to idiot turned it off.

do yourself a favor and download and use CGWatcher. any computer can have random freezes when left running for a long time. a recycle every now and then can help keep things happy. CGwatcher will automatically detect when cgminer is having a problem, and will restart it, or you can even have it restart the entire computer.

went now to https://www.poloniex.com/exchange and there is writing: BTC/COYE market will soon close. Please withdraw your coins.    Huh Huh

That's correct. Sorry everyone, but Kanye's lawyers sent me an email that explained the Kanye side of things pretty well, and I don't really think it's right what COYE has done. Same goes for all celebrity coins.

Please cancel your orders and withdraw your COYE.

*uncontrollable laughter*

Looooooooool

And bag holders rage even harder.
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 30, 2014, 01:00:31 AM
Ok But are the stats page matched with MAIN? my miner should be going and I think it is actually going,

I even have a MIddlecoin monitor Android app which shows balance increasing but the 0/mhs Accepted

Strange

Do you understand how this works?

Your balance is increasing still, with 0MH/s, because your unexchanged balance is being exchanged... It will continue to do so until your unexchanged and immature are 0. It's just processing backlog. Nothing more. But otherwise, no, unless you've failed over to a different pool, your computer isn't doing anything.

I'll say it again. If you aren't using multiple backup pools for immediate failover, you're doing it wrong.

But go ahead and keep blaming h2o for it.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 29, 2014, 11:37:31 PM
Anyone else getting about twice the rejects per the norm? I average about 7% raw rejects here as of the past few days.

Also, when is the difficulty going to return to normal? I'm willing to bet it never will go back to 512.

The diff really doesn't mean anything.

"Blah blah blah, smaller machines yada yada yada."

On of my machines is only 380kh/s. Still gets a 360 WU. (Gasp, that means I'm still getting the right amount of work submitted!!!!!)

I could sell my coinye now and still make a profit. Just asking.  Wink

So could anyone. Buy at 2 on beedui and sell at 5 on poloniex.

minus transfer fees
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][COYE] Coinye Coin - v3.0 ADDED BOUNTIES 50M & TWO NEW EXCHANGES on: January 29, 2014, 05:55:13 PM
I agree, as a community we need to stop selling so low. If you want to sell post your sell order but set it to 50 satoshi and play the waiting game. If you truly believe in this coin then you should know that people will pay that if that's what it's selling for. If you just want to dump your coins, dump them here on the forum so real believers can hold your coinye without you crashing the market. Please quote this if you agree so people will continue to see this.

You have to understand that there is no market. Exchanges with so low volumes(cryptorush, beedui etc.), doesnt even matter. Devs should start negotiating with bter.com about adding this coin into their exchange.

Their ids:
freeworm, Bter, Bter.com

when will people learn. THERE ARE NO MORE DEVS!

just a bunch of bag holders running around like headless chickens, scrambling to be able to dump their coins. i know it sucks to make a bad decision, but your hopes and dreams wont materialize a market for this coin. suck up your loss and move on.

instead of instantaneous numbers for hashrate, can you create some plots that show the values over time?

it would be very helpful to see if there was a gap in hashrate or any other anomalies. would also be interesting to see pool hashrate over time too.

Here is a stable exchange for Coinye:  https://www.poloniex.com

+1 we need to start using this one as a community and try to get some sense of unity here so we can increase the value of this coin for once.

What are the devs currently working on for this coin? Anything?

LULz, what devs?

一帮洋屌丝 就会套中国人的钱 Shocked

When I google search for this, I get hits on "cock wire" and "Chinese People"  hmmmmmm, what are you trying to say here?

Cock wire

"Belong molluscs (invertebrates). Soft body without phalanx, breed quickly, act no brain. Has suspended animation, it simply is an animal instinct to play dead state of emergency in danger. Toothless, by licking a living. The main food for the nest dog feces and black fungus. (Baidu Encyclopedia)"

and

"I would like to Fuck a force! Go to google translator to understand it quickly"

-------------------------------------------------------

try again please.

it's amusing seeing all the bag holders grasping at straws to dump their shit. if you didnt dump your lot early on, or actually paid BTC for this, then let this be a lesson learned.

sure i still have half of my earnings (from my 2hr investment), but i made enough profit off of the first half that it really doesnt matter lol.

Ahahahahahahaha... No more cheap coins for you Wink Buy what you can at the moment. It'l be very late very soon for you otherwise Smiley
I could have got 1.5 BTC out of my stash (currently worth 0.5) but why would I when I can get 15 in a week or so? That is just giving your coins away Smiley

you're chasing unicorns man. pipe dreams.

it just wont happen. people have been saying over and over "wait til it hits an exchange! the price will skyrocket!" exchange after exchange, the price doesn't, or barely, breaks 10sat. people know it isn't worth anything so there's no buy support. and then the echange owners pussy out once they get the letter in the mail from Kanye's lawyers and it gets pulled.

i have yet to see ANY exchange come close to what i sold my half for (45-50sat). and it will never get there without any buy support.

i sold 300k for 0.14 BTC. which was equivalent to a weeks' worth of multipool earnings for me. for 2hrs invested. thats all this coin is good for. instamine, then dump to the newbies.

sorry you got the shit end of the stick.

add --no-submit-stale to your BAT file and that should take care of the stales.

dont do this. H2O has said a few times already that stales ARE accepted sometimes.

239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 27, 2014, 01:53:13 PM
Teach me for not having three failover pools  Roll Eyes

My pool/failovers are:
1. Middlecoin useast
2. Middlecoin uswest
3. Hashcows
4. Poolerino EAC pool

As a result, no cut in to profits. I never even get to pool 3/4. They are there just in case. Also ping is really inconsequential. Blocks aren't found fast enough for an extra 100ms lag to really make much difference.

Furthermore, afaik useast is BETA. Expect 50% uptime and be grateful for more. Along those same lines, uswest is non-beta, so expect 98% uptime and grateful for more.

You have no one to blame but yourself for your high expectations and poor mining practices. If you think you can make more elsewhere (lol), there's the door. Good luck.
240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 27, 2014, 01:27:12 PM
Why is useast and EU so unstable over the past 24 hours? Really cutting into the profits  Undecided

Then set the default uswest server as a backup/failover.

If you're pool mining without multiple failover pools, you're doing it wrong.
