Its a great idea.
It could also be used by a hairdresser. Its easy to count transactions to an adress in the blockchain. This means that each customer could get his own adress.
Once the customer have this adress in his app, its easy for him to pay to that adress.
This could also be used by all kinds of shops to tie customers.
It will be very easy keep track of how much you spend and also how much you have left.
What is needed is a counter that keeps track of the value of the total amount payed at each transaction. Since Bitcoins fluctuate in value.
Maybe it would be possible for blockchain.info or blockexplorer to show the total value of an adress based on when each transaction occured.
like:
1 bitcoin sent in februari with a value of $6 10 bitcoin sent in januari with a value of $50
Total value when sent: $56 Value today: $60

Unfortunatly Bit-Pay is US only, something like Bitpay is really needed in EU.
I really don´t think that Bitcoin is a hardsell for the right kind of business. Small and medium. Most of those have nothing to lose on it.

Bitcoin needs Pokerstars to support bitcoin payments. Americans would love it. The US government would surely find a way to sabotage Pokerstars however.
Send a request that they use it. I certainly will. Now that PokerStars has an EU license it's tax free for me to play at PokerStars.eu, which means I will be playing there again. It's still part of the same network as everyone else so that's good. They have the best tournaments. Is it legal to gamble on pokerstars if I live in the US? Currently, I believe it isn't (for real money). Pokerstars could enable bitcoin payments and allow players to *wink* *wink* claim they're in Canada. No need to send out cheques or get/send money from/to American credit cards. I suspect however that PS would be afraid to touch a pseudo anonymous currency to bypass USA laws. No they can´t. It would be easy to check for the IRS if they are doing so, also they would need to do proper KYC. But they could accept Bitcoin as a payment.

I don´t think they are hellbent on removing Bitcoin, they have not removed trade with gold and all it needs is some regulation.
If a store accept Bitcoin, they can easily see if the store is avoiding taxes. Simply by making a purchase and look if it is accounted for.
If not, the store will have to pay a penalty.
And they dont have to do this at every single store. All they need is a strong enough penalty and do it at some stores than as other stores see this they will be afraid of cheating to much.
So Bitcoin is really no trouble.

Stop panic selling, you idiots.
Idiots? Maybe the smart money is leaving or has already left. Take revenge. Deprive these idiots of their bitcoins by buying into the weakness and ROTFL on these forums in a few weeks if the price returns to $6. If. And join them crying when price hits >$20 and you sold at $6

Don´t know you but you seem to just be very smart, something not very smart people can misstake for mental, because you might be one in a hundred or thousand, and for "simple people" being different is just being not normal, which is mental.
But my gut reaction was that it was rude of him asking you if you are mental. But it depends in what way he asked, it could also be that he cares.

Economy / Speculation / Re: I think it is safe bet to BUY bitcoins now. My speculation.

I am only bullish because the manipulation is very easy at the current price level and volume of bitcoins. Somebody with a few million dollars can have no trouble controlling the market.
I think it was in the "the money makers" who said that anything that can be made scarce and quantity controlled can be manipulated. Even gold can be manipulated.
Bitcoins, with its very small volume, and especially very small volume being actively traded can be very easily controlled and manipulated.
I originally underestimated the extent to which bitcoins can be manipulated. I did this because I did not think somebody with a few million dollars would be trading.
That is why I think currently it is a safe bet, especially considering somebody with large runds was able to buy hundred of thousands of dollars worth of bitcoins, just to protect the price from falling. He is not going to let his current investment go to shit.
SO we are gambling with what looks to be a nice floor, so your upwards potential is very high here. The odds at winning this gamble is in your favor if you put a stop loss in about $5.00.
If you put a stoploss at $5 what would you do if you hade huge pockets? I would cause a crash down below $5. Buy the coins from those who panic.
