Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Argo Blockchain to launch clean energy Bitcoin mining pool

Old news. They started making noise about it late last year. Yawn. I might add that DMG is also the group that was looking to censor transactions by processing only those going to/from known wallets. They recently backed down on that but still not a company I would deal with.
Yeah, try bag-holding their stock. Transparency to shareholders is sorely lacking.

my first accident since 22 years ago . both on HighWay 9 you know the one in Bruce Springsteen song.
Good that you are not injured! You may see it as a chance to rethink about the choice of the color Bad is, that the insurance will not pay for a new one, just for the "actual price at the time". In my neck of the woods, if your vehicle is less than 4 years old insurance will give you full replacement value (based on $ amount of damage) or original parts only if small damage. Well assuming no hidden injury. I will end up with s 2022 kia k5 vs a 2020 kia optima I figure I will spend about 4-6 grand but the car will be 'new' vs 14 months old and have a new warranty. the optima became the k5 nice car. maybe color blue this time. I can deal with a 4-6 k hit a lot better than a couple of broken legs.True dat. Kia's gotten a great rep the last couple of years ...

Ack! That surely beats me at my October 18th, 2013 KNC Jupiter Bitcoin Miner, with again, so on that day, I looked at $150 usd per Bitcoin! (I sat on my hands and did zip and waited for a miners from BFL ...which never came...but did get a 'fluke' refund from BFL more than 1 year later a week before SEC closed them down. DUMB LUCK rules ..I was such a clueless newbie! so giving up on BFL I finally got the above KNC miner...But again, sitting on hands from April 13, 2013 or 3 days before the Wall Observer thread started on here on April 13th, 2013 and the price of BTC on the 1st post on WO was..Ack! $67.43! I was distraut in thatI 'obviously' peaked at the $150 I mined that 1st day...surely, the price had to go down right? In that I missed the boat from April 13th, 2013? Ah, my 'clueless' newbie youth....what a noob I was! I sure hope the next 7 years is at least this rosey for Bitcoin/Crypto! https://i.imgur.com/Px5bq7M.png@Searing, if memory serves there was a pre-order issue / scandal with KNC, no? Was it the Jupiter or other model? I received a Jalapeno so was not affected by BFL, but I did get sucked into the Black Arrow pre-order scam in 2014 I guess it was.

I was thinking somewhere someplace
I have about 0.030 btc which we collected for this pool to help with the server.
now that coins are 23k should I send it to pay for the server?
I will be back at my trezors to look it up. In about 4 hours.
Maybe I should send 1/2 and hold the rest for six or seven more months.
If coins double again and we send 1/2 we could pay for the server 2 more times and still have some coin left.
It is about 0.0340 coin
Makes sense, half and half - no doubt the latter half will be worth more when you send it

Economy / Speculation / Re: How degenerate is it buying and sitting on PayPal Bitcoin ?

... for the majority of consumers out there custody from paypal and other institutions will just make more sense for them. I would even argue that having these third party custodians is GOOD ... I agree 100% on the need for safe and secure mainstream, branded custodial services to facilitate consumer adoption. For most, the soft wallet user experience has been lacking for over a decade and has no doubt been responsible for countless coins being lost or burned, and certainly dissuaded many from engaging with crypto further. But I do not believe that I need to promote adoption by supporting the likes of Paypal, who change their terms on a whim akin to Google or FB. Imagine the poor folks who will have their "crypto" frozen in the future due to some nonsensical policy. Sure, they'll get access to it eventually but will suffer undue stress in the interim. I have more faith in Gemini or Fidelity to get this right. As for myself, having lived through enough hardware and exchange scams over the years, there's just no way I would consider leaving substantial coin with anybody but myself. This old school guy says NYK, NYC.

-CK, your level of commitment is inspiring. I've popped in and out of the pool for years and beyond feelings of nostalgia, I think it's a valuable service you've provided to countless hobbyists like myself.
Thank You!

I'm convinced his entire live setup is not even plugged into the mixer. Don't like the guy. He's a lazy musician that really has no place on stage and should just stick to the studio managing drama between Dave and Martin. As a musician, Fletch has always been a useless twit. Respect for being "at the right place at the right time" though. The DM I love died when Alan Wilder left... still listen often to pre '95 stuff.

... I've successfully implemented temperature-based fan throttling, an overtemp shutdown, and string lockup recovery (useful for undervolting), basically from scratch, in ASM, in about 3 days of work. With about 20% the code payload as the last non-working program I got from the outsourced coder ... Nice!
