1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Any reason my laptop wouldnt let me use these. on: December 28, 2014, 09:07:47 PM
Hey Colin. Thanks for the quick reply. Currently i am planning to buy two of these units and have all the needed drivers installed.

With the drivers sorted, you will need some mining software, like CGMiner https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer which can control the miners and communicate with the pool.

Have a look at http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/ to download a windows compatible version of CGMiner.

You can't just plug them in and they start mining.

Software needs installing a configuration has to be done.

How far have you got with installing the software and drivers?
3  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining hardware on: October 24, 2014, 07:20:19 PM
Ok
So this is much more effektive than for example a sli computer

More hash rate and less electricity used with an ASIC than an SLI computer rig.
4  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Connecting cubes to a switch on: April 30, 2014, 05:58:55 PM
Connect your cubes to the new switch you buy, but also connect one port of the switch to your linksys router.

That way each device on your new switch will get an IP address from the linksys router (via DHCP).

No code changes were made between 0.9.0 and 0.9.1. Only the dependencies were changed.

Upgrade OpenSSL to 1.0.1g. This release fixes the following vulnerabilities which can affect the Bitcoin Core software:

and

It is especially important to upgrade if you currently have version 0.9.0 installed and are using the graphical interface OR you are using bitcoind from any pre-0.9.1 version, and have enabled SSL for RPC and have configured allowip to allow rpc connections from potentially hostile hosts.

9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anyone willing to donate some bitcoins to a newbie? ;) on: March 31, 2014, 09:16:51 PM
I only asking for a donation. I understand that there's move deserving people around the world who need it.

But sometimes things are worth asking for. You're either going to get a complaint, yes, no or a slap. So why not ask?

Its in the noobs readme, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177133.0

You obviously didn't read the big red writing.

If you want some satoshi to play with, try some faucets and/or qoinpro.com

What will happen if i save my actual private keys online?

They are available to hackers who want to steal them.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New motherboard but lost... on: March 25, 2014, 11:17:13 PM
The plugs on the motherboard only go one way withhout chopping bits up or forcing beyond what is reasonable.

Populate all the motherboard power sockets with all the power plugs you have, same goes for the PSU plugs and GPU plugs.

You can't go wrong.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is there a difficulty to hash rate ratio? on: March 25, 2014, 05:16:25 PM
As the hashrate of the network for a particular coin rises, the difficulty rises to compensate and keep the number of coins mined per time interval, constant.

Follow-up: Having attempted to sign up for cex.io, I found it is closed to me, as I do not have a mobile phone. Just a landline. So, scratch another site off the list. Funny, I sensed it wasn't for me, and now I know. Thanks anyhow.  Smiley

Have you tried to follow the sign-up at cex.io but omit entering a phone number? You may be surprised!

How about UnitedScryptCoin
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New member - Oldtimer intro on: March 18, 2014, 07:14:30 PM
qoinpro.com is a source for free coins, without the faucet captcha and cex.io is a way to get into mining without the hardware. Good luck in your venture.

18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Laptop for Anonymous Computing on: March 18, 2014, 07:06:41 PM
I would not use a laptop pre-installed with anything for cryptos. Will format hard disk and install everything myself.

Exactly, why trust someone else when you can do the work yourself.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Currency identical to Bitcoin? on: March 18, 2014, 03:44:02 PM
Avoid answering your question, sorry. Coins that came after bitcoin were an attempt at a 'better' coin, however the dev saw 'better'. I can't see why anyone would have made a 100% clone as there would be no improvement.

And while I was one finger typing all that,

bytecoin

https://coinex.pw/ suggests the site is down for maintenance and they have activated the cloudflare 'I am under attack' filter.

Twitter post says:
