1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Opacity (OPCT) - Highly Undervalued Smallcap with HUGE upcoming releases on: December 07, 2021, 01:24:00 PM
Very long ago I missed the tokenswap, very frustrating. I still have the old tokens in my ethereum address, but they're worthless. Anyone know what I should do?

Keep your old tokens as collectables and start buying OPCT. That's what I would do.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Opacity (OPCT) - Highly Undervalued Smallcap with HUGE upcoming releases on: December 04, 2021, 01:43:08 AM
I've been following Opacity for a while now and I must say that it's a very interesting project. They prioritize privacy and ease of use, which other storage projects seem to be focusing less on. This is a good strategy imo because it will be much easier to market the product to the avarage joe/crypto beginner. What I also like about Opacity is their agnostic approach by integrating their competition to their backend. Which means that they will also use other decentralized networks to run their storage nodes on. I believe Siacoin is the first to be integrated. I can't wait for the initial release of it, I think that it will be real a gamechanger.

Oh and, of course, the mobile app that will come out this month. I heard that the responses are very positive so far. It's in closed beta now and there are some testers sharing screenshots of it. The app looks really appealing I must say!
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steemit and STEEM are not Dead on: March 13, 2021, 09:59:20 PM
Hmm, a friend recommended me to use Steemit for my company instead of Medium. So you're all saying that Steemit is losing popularity? Should I stick with Medium? What do you guys prefer?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best stable coin when selling crypto? on: March 13, 2021, 01:39:48 PM
Well, for me this is a difficult one, because both have their pros and cons. But if I have to choose between the two I would go for BUSD. Why? Because Binance is too big to fail. If they want to stay the 'biggest' they have to keep that good reputation. And a lot of their success (BNB, BSC, CZ) depends on it. So if there's any FUD, you can assume that they'll try to back it up with statements and audits as much possible. Tether is much more shady in their doings and lacks transparency. And if you don't trust both, you can always go for USDC. It has some good availability.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where's the altcoin bull on: March 12, 2021, 07:10:36 PM
Few old projects have made the ATH, like enj, doge, bnb, eth but most of the old projects are still far away from the ATH. Can we call the current situation bullrun for altcoin?  I think no. Most of the times, it’s the affect of bitcoin rise.
So, when are we having altcoin bull where altcoin will be outperforming bitcoin? Or no more such things happening at all?
You are just being impatient and that is understandable, most of altcoin holders including me are just waiting on the sidelines and seeing the market my personal assumption is that alt season will happen in the months of august to october and before that it will be all btc, eth and some other top coin show.
Will it? Because back in 2017 there were a lot of new people hitting the crypto space. A lot of retailers and my grandma - It was the first time my family talked about crypto during christmas 2017. They were all trying to find the next Bitcoin, Ethereum or even IOTA. I don't really see them going back into crypto this year. Especially with a pandemic going on. Besides, investors are a lot smarter nowadays, so I really doubt there will be an alt season in august or october. I hope I'm wrong though!
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No year of altcoins coming. All the big money is pouring into bitcoin. on: March 12, 2021, 02:41:58 PM
thats a long year of waiting if the only way for altcoins to bloom is when btc reach 1 million dollars  .
altcoin hodlers are going to get tired of waiting for that golden event to happen and they will definetly sold out thier alts and join the bitcoin bandwagon  but why wait forever anyway when you can earn right away upon investing in bitcoin .
it all started with btc and it will going to end with btc  . sorry my fellow altcoins
True, but the reason why I'm investing in altcoins is so I can buy more BTC. If I make the right call (and nowadays, in this bullrun, it's pretty easy), my gains will be much higher then when I put it all in BTC. I'm just riding the waves.

But yeah, in the end, Bitcoin always wins.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where Are You Next 5 Years? on: March 12, 2021, 02:33:22 PM
You Think What Is Your Placement In The Crypto Currency In The Next 5 Years?
I think I'l be using crypto more on daily basis, as I'm spending less on fiat or keep my savings on a bank.
I'm already reserving a good portion (20%) of my salary to buy Bitcoin monthly but I expect to increase this number for over the years.
I also think services (entertainment, web apps) will integrate subscriptions models based on crypto for the coming years.

How Many Money You Earned That Time?
If you talk in percentages, I'll say about 150% of what I've invested throughout the years. That's more than having interest on your bank account.

And What Do You Want To Do With Your Earning?
Hopefully I can buy a house some day!
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BOLTON STO IS NOT SCAM !!! on: February 15, 2019, 07:54:18 PM
Well, every question was answered by Bolton Coin, is there still some doubts about this project?

I wonder the same...but you have to keep in mind that in this space we have mostly kids with a short attention span and many of them don't have the intellectual capability to read through lengthy and detailed responses like that.

Just look at Facebook...the posts with the least quality typically gets the most attention.

If you look at my previous posts over the the months you see that I spend a lot of time digging into questionable projects and scams...however it is much easier to point fingers and call something a scam..especially in a bear market, but people should at least do basic research.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BOLTON STO IS NOT SCAM !!! on: February 15, 2019, 03:25:06 PM
If this is an STO i doubt that this is a scam. Because before having or to be called an STO they need to have tangible assets and theses allegations if clearly a form of STO boycoting since it is going to replace the ICO stage. They might be scammers that does not want an STO before offering the coin to the industry and will eventually run.

Good point, STOs cannot simply take funds and run. There is a heavy process involved with authorities and excecutives become very accountable unlike in the case of ICOs where most can run and few ever pay the price. So if they really have sinister things in mind, why would they be so retarded to do an STO in the first place?
10  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: African kids with AKs and 663 million bucks. Scam STO Bolton Coin on: February 11, 2019, 01:41:59 PM
Before you come up with accussations of that kind of gravity you should at least be able to get basics of the company right that you are covering. Instead you simply throw a bunch of similiar sounding but not related companies together and make connections when there are none. This whole things appears to be fabricated. May I ask how much time did you spend on this review and more importantly, has this been a paid review? That would explain a lot here.
11  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are traders born or made? on: February 11, 2019, 01:22:17 PM
For those of you who’ve walked the trader’s path, you’ll know how daunting it can be. Standing in the footsteps of legends, wondering which strategy to follow, what concepts to learn and--more importantly--whether you really have what it takes to be a trader.

When your emotions are raging like a rollercoaster, a trading win can lead to a euphoric high. And a loss? A plummeting low that makes you doubt your ability and courage to stay in the game.

But can you learn to overcome your emotions, bide your time, fight against your urge to buy or sell, and figure out how to read the markets? Can you teach yourself to be a trader?

When you’re filled with self-doubt and overwhelmed by a plethora of trading tools and options, you may find yourself asking the question: are traders born or made?

Very good question. I feel you need to be born to be a good trader, be able to make decisions on data and statistics, and leave emotions out of the equation. But this is very hard to do, even if you are aware that this is critical. I had quite a few trading courses and know the pitfalls...but still get trapped again and again. I might be an impulsive person and less fact driven...and this will always haunt me.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial Crisis Will Come on: February 11, 2019, 01:15:36 PM
Have you had a look at the stock market recently, for instance the leading tech stocks or S&P? You must be blind in order not to see the writings on the wall. The markets collapsed in december when the FED decided to go ahead with bringing the interest rate slowly back to levels before the last financial collapse. The only reason the markets did not plunge further has been the Feds announcement to pause the gradual increase in interest rates until the markets are more stable. At this point the system is fragile that we do not need a blackswan event, a black duck would be enough to cause a complete financial collapse.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: hackers becoming smarter than exchanges? on: February 11, 2019, 01:01:42 PM
With the biggest exchanges in canada and australia being compromised I lost almost all of my confidence that the exchanges are winning the battle over hackers...it looks quite the contradinary.

Are there exchanges that over to store the coins in your own wallet? I know Davinci is developing a wallet called Pandora where you can store the coins locally and still trade.

But he is just a single freelance developer and I am afraid this is to big for one person to acomplish...
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop SCAM in the ICO market on: February 11, 2019, 12:56:38 PM
I posted on this thread a while ago and mentioned that 90% of ICOs seem like a scam, then others even indicate that the 99% of projects are scam.

Here are some facts. Based on a real research that analysed the 1000+ discontinued projects their conclusion was this: While the vast majority of projects do never get completed, only 20% of projects are actually fraudulent. This number is of course still to high. But it is noteworthy that most projects at least start with the intention to create something.
15  Economy / Economics / Re: How Long Crypto market will take to recover? on: October 06, 2018, 07:20:15 PM
In conditions like today we can't expect much on crypto, and can only hope that the market can recover as soon as possible. The market will likely take a long time to recover, given the crypto confidence that is decreasing.

I rather disagree, consumer confidence is always low before a turnaround happens and vice versa. Many experts called the bottom and I am confident things will recover from here. Also there are some key events happening next months that enable institutional money to flow into the market. Don't have too many hopes but also no need to be desperate either.
16  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Requirements too difficult to JR. Members on: October 06, 2018, 07:16:52 PM
To earn Merit you need to be useful for the Forum and members of the forum. This will make the forum only better. For example:
1. Simply links to interesting posts or accounts https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3247259.0
2. Table for selection and Bounty and AirDrop https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3270775
3. A member of the forum shares his experience of how he earned Merit https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3306385.0
4. Directory of the most useful forum topics https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3534750
It is worth thinking about than each of us will be useful to the Forum.

Some very good links, the best you can do is to embrace the system and try to make useful posts the benefit the forum as a whole. I think there are less spam posts now already since you need merit to become JR and it's a good development.
17  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: October 06, 2018, 07:12:30 PM
So will the useable smerit get destroy every month if we don't use them.

smerits do not get destroyed (or decay) for regular members unless the member is a merit source member.

Currently, there are only 120 merit source members.  See this link:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=sources

Merit source members have to spend their source smerits every 30 days in order to regenerate more source smerits.  If they do not spend their source smerits within 30days, then the source merits will not regenerate until 30 days after they spend their smerits.

Good to know it does not get decayed but it seems it also does not get refilled, it would be great if from time to time it gets refilled so people who are not posting in areas where merit sources are active have a chance or earning it.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do you think the market is down right now? on: October 06, 2018, 07:08:14 PM
Probably because whenever it goes slightly up everyone sells it because they think the Bitcoin fad is done and it will never go as high as it was in the previous years. Also, it might feel like it's not controlled by whales sort of control the market.

I also think so, unfortunately there are so many people in the deep loss so whenever things go into the green then these people try to reduce losses. Some might really need the money as they were in to deep, but most just don't have the patience it needs.
19  Economy / Economics / Re: hackers becoming smarter than exchanges? on: October 06, 2018, 07:05:07 PM
Binance and bancor are two reputable exchanges of  Cryptos  they should ensure that they employs experienced cyber security experts to prevent hackers from gaining access into their system, this give credence and credibility to them and encourages more traders to use their platform and will go a long in trusting their system.

Did Bancor not get hacked recently? I would strike anything from my list that has proven not doing enough security in the past. I trust mainly Binance and Cobinhood now, and Kucoin to some lesser extend, I think these are the safest right now.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: Why lot of countries do not allow to use Crpto? on: September 09, 2018, 09:47:22 PM
Because they see it as threat, risky and anonymous which can pose a threat to its citizens and also encourage anti money laundering since the transaction run on the blockchain are anonymous and not easy to trace.

The biggest threat next to money laundering is probably tax evasion. Everything that is outside of the visibility or control of the government is a red flag, so it is natural that so many are opposed crypto. But more see this as an opportunity.
