Just to clear things up, there are two attacks being touted right now.
The Anonymint attack, that might only affect Monero, (As Zoidberg said), apparently Tacotime has been working on a fix for some time.
The BCX attack, which is pure fantasy. If the BCX attack exists, it'll likely effect BBR too, however I am 99% sure that BCX is being the biggest troll here.
Why make a 500 bitcoin bet, when you can steal that amount instead?
Agree, the talks is about two different attacks. As i said. But i didn't meand that BBR is not affeted by anonymint attack. I meant that we already had fixed similar flaw in august, but it's quite different, so we have the same theoretical problem as Monero. The fix of this problem could be worked out in next days/weeks, but - remember, this is very rare conditions, and my personal opinion that this is even not critical to interrapt current development plan. Crypto-zoidberg, please. The coin is Rune. Sorry for that We working hard on rebranding right now, since we not changed yet website/logo/first post etc, until we announce it say "officially" let's keep call it BBR, last days, so every one who love this name(including me) could use it, last times

We are working on resolving this issue. I was the one that offered anonymint a bounty to research BCX's claims. This is a possible exploit that anonymint says has a fix, so as long as we can concentrate on the important things, then it should be just another day in cryptoland. My understanding of the attack is that it takes a long time to prepare, and it also requires a lot of hardware resources and only can affect some subset of tx. So, there are many conditions and few people will have the ability and resources to pull this off. Now this could all be an overreaction to some obscure edge case, but when it comes to something like this I do not want to assume it is inconsequential even if it is improbable. At the very least, this provides some intense scrutiny of the algorithms and creates new ways to harden it. James I let myself to uncover a little anonymint's research that we was privately discussed this evening: imo it's not critical, it's not about stealing money and it's not coin killer. it's about anonymity that could be compromised on very rare situations(with some specific conditions) and untypical for current transactions distribution(if could call it so). It similar to flaw that i fixed in august ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=577267.msg8548412#msg8548412 ), so this also could be fixed without pain, and as i said - imo it's still not critical. Anyway, his research was helpful(thanks to anonymint), but it looks like BitcoinEXpress mean something else. Also many thanks to James for organization efforts!

..........
The essential problem here is that 60% of the community were denied their voice. ...........
The thing is that we care only about votes of our community. And we don't care about what had written here by you, smooth or whoever came from whatever. So you just wasting your time here. It was mentioned that vote made for people who was supported and helped our project, our community members. This is sad that Icebreaker and teknohog, and couple of others didn't liked, but most of community supported our efforts.

i'm always here, just can't understand, why you guys have so much time to fight on forums?? Don't you have some important work in your life? Or fighting on forums is your work...? Anyway, sussex, i would like to ask you speak politely in our thread. Respect your opponents, even if you think they stupid. can i suggest an open vote donation based ?
address 1: bbr address 2-3-4etc: rune and other bs
1bbr to enter the vote; bbr goes to dev.
i like this idea! Than we solve two problems: fund rising and voting Where you been zoidberg? I like this idea also, how would the names for the poll be chosen? I also think the result should be set in stone for some period of time, perhaps two or three years, we don't need this kind of distraction on a regular basis.

We have a VERY clear direction moving forward. The rebranding is the first step in that direction.
Its great that you were a fan of BoolBerry, but the name was been ridiculed in english-first language regions since its inception. The conotations of both "bool" and "berry" are cartoonish in english-first language regions.
Although "bool" has a meaningful technological aspect the pronounciation of it, especially when couple with "berry" left it sounding, to be quite honest, silly.
Although it might not seem fair, having a name that is brandable in English, first and foremost, is a very important consideration.
First i want the best for Boolberry and if the re-branding will help, then i will advocate it. By my self i like the name Boolberry, but i´m not a English-first language speaker. How i understand you would the re-branding have only a positive effect to the english-first language regions. What do you assume how big the effect will be, and will be it worth to re-brand it for this? Do you estimate that it will be a bigger potential first-english language user base as non-english-first language user base ? Hard to say, we just hope that new name and brand will help technology to spread wider.

Boolberry has just been added to new exchanges.
Boolberry is a cool and unusual name that can build a strong 'brand' identity.
Their is nothing wrong with the boolberry name or the current boolberry logo.
The 3 proposed name changes are all terrible when compared to boolberry - in my honest opinion.
At best I'm thinking to stop mining BBR for now and at worst ? Although the technical fundamentals are mostly their - does this project actually have a clear direction moving forward ? Is a 2nd name change and re-branding really worthwhile at this stage ?
BitcoinFX, thanks for support, it wasn't easiest decision, but after all we decided to come up with new name and brand before major development steps. Anyway, thank you!

Vortex ...... Has this passed crypto_zoidberg?
Sure. It was not easiest decision, but we finally decided to come up with new name and brand before major development steps. I'm personaly in love with Rune because it have slight hint to technology: "Runes" is derived from "secret, mistery" and was used to refer to ancient cipher.... that was often hard or impossible to read, and that's exactly reflects CryptoNote blockchain, which is hard to analyze as well! I vote for Rune! Zoidberg
