1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MineOnCloud.com POOLS 1% FEES on: March 02, 2014, 09:05:22 PM
Any word on figuring out mergemining for this?

No for now any merged in mind. Just launch new scrypt pool for zeitcoin : https://zeit.mineoncloud.com

I'm referring to the fact that there's information out there suggesting that mazacoin can be mergemined with BTC.  Not sure if you knew what I mean, just trying to be clear.  Anyone know anything about that? Could make things interesting for mazacoin...

Also you can by they direct off the Chinese website for $2700USD for a BigBit

What website? Gridseed.com? I don't see anything that matches these specs there, and certainly no option to order via the website.

Oh, how about this:

Set lookup-gap to 2.

Well, generally, HW errors means that the card is being pushed too much in some way.  Lowering the intensity seemed to help a bit, but I'm suspecting the memory clock might be a little too high.  Some of these R9s can be pushed quite a bit on the memory/core clocks, and some can't.  I have a few R9 290s that are rock solid at 1500, and 2 others that don't like anything above stock.

Try this:

"gpu-memclock" : "1350"

If that seems to clear up the HW errors, and the WU is pretty close to the reported hashrate, I'd toy with bringing intensity back up to 19.  I'd also try to slowly increase the thread concurrency.  Many of these R9 270s can get up to 16000 TC.

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Porn.com accepts bitcoin on: January 02, 2014, 06:16:03 PM
The state of Utah is having the maximum per capita spending on porn for the last few years.
Individuals in my state(utah) simply have more leisure money, and no legalized prostitution/gambling.
Our cost of living is less, our earning potential is usually reflective of our industrious nature.

My suggestion for individuals in the other states, stop being so lazy and poorly educated.

US Bureau of Economic Analysis - Per Capita Personal Disposable Income 2012

Utah's Per Capita DPI: $32,069 (82.2% of US Average)
Utah's rank: 46 out of 50

Missouri Economic Research and Information Center - Cost of Living Data - Q3 2013

Utah's Cost of Living Index: 91.1 (91.1% of US Average)

So, they're buying all of the porn because of all of this "leisure money" they have? It looks like the average Utah resident has less than the average American, even if you factor in cost of living differences.

Incidentally, Utah's lead in porn consumption is pretty huge. I'm sure repression/religion have nothing to do with it. Here's a recent study.

Yes, keeping it offline permanently is the safest way.  However, if it's not a huge amount, I wouldn't be super concerned if it was connected.  Armory or some other local encrypted wallet is probably really unlikely to get hacked if you don't use that pc for anything risky.  If it's a hassle for you to setup an offline pc required for cold storage, I wouldn't stress about it - unless we're talking very large sums of BTC.
