81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom - 1991 Retro Virtual World(City) on: June 15, 2016, 09:40:43 PM
Any news on getting crypto kingdom gold on poloniex?

There was a counterparty asset was created by a community member to issue tokens that would be backed by CK HODLers fund (S-HODL in-game), which is 80-90% CKG (the rest being interest-bearing debt issued by the Town). The reason for doing it that way is that CKG pays dividends which would be difficult to handle in the case of a token, especially for tokens held on an exchange. S-HODL reinvests all dividends and interest payments, which converts them into token price appreciation.

However, very little effort went into actually trying to get the token listed on an exchange. The game master seems more interested in being the game master than dealing with such structural matters, which is his prerogative, but at the moment it looks like no one is actively working on an exchange listing.

If another community member wants to more aggressively pursue it, perhaps ownership of the existing counterparty token could be transferred, or a new one created.

I'd like to buy some

You can do this by registering in the game. A foreign owned corporation character (which I think has a one time registration fee of 50 XMR, but you could possibly recover this later by reselling the character) does not need to deal with gameplay and can simply hold assets idle in the account at no ongoing cost.

If you do that I would recommend buying the S-HODL in-game asset instead of buying CKG directly for a few reasons, including that, as above, you won't need to deal with reinvesting dividends. If you hold CKG directly then you will get payments into your character account every week that will sit idle until you log in and reinvest (or withdraw) them.

Thanks for the detailed answer smooth! I've checked out the game website and it looks like it has a lot of potential. If the counterparty asset was traded on poloniex I think there would be good support, and liquidity would certainly increase. The way people throw money at ICO's recently shows people want things to invest in, and crypto kingdom doesn't have any real competition yet, so the upside could be quite good. The buzz created in the polo troll box alone would get some more registrations I'd say also. I honestly think the game looks more time consuming to master for me, but I think as an investment its potential is well worth a few bitcoins, but I'd feel more confident if there was an off-ramp with high volume.

I was the one that created the asset and requested it be listed on Poloniex, but never received any type of response from them (somewhat expected).

I'm still willing to run the administrative stuff, but I'm not sure where to try to go with it at the moment. Perhaps Bittrex? I don't really keep up with exchanges much and many of them are scammy.

Damn. That looks amazing.

Do I understand correctly that the current bid is 1000 + 1250 = 2250 xmr?

Correct.

The gold value is approximately $1,265 (current spot), so we are almost at par value.  Cheesy
89  Economy / Collectibles / [Auction] [LLCOINS] 2015 1,000 XMR 1oz Gold Coin on: June 07, 2016, 11:10:36 PM
Some backstory:
About 14 months ago, some acquaintances and I decided to make some pure gold physical XMR coins. I led the effort, and 9 others agreed to "pre-order" 1 each (10 total), which would cover most of the upfront costs. Depending on how things went, the plan was to offer an additional 5-10 (max 20 total) for public sales. Long story short, after many hardships and delays, all coins are in their owners hands and fully funded with 1,000 XMR, save one: a few months ago one of the guys backed out. Due to a variety of factors, I've decided not to make any more of this 2015 series (there may be something new for 2016/2017 in gold and/or platinum though!). This coin (#10) is all there will be for public sales of this series. All coins are vanity-generated to start with "4Au1", "4Au2", etc.

The buyers of coins 1-9 are:

1. luigi1111
2. fluffypony
3. dnaleor
4. binaryFate
5. Lloydimiller4
6. djjacket
7. wpalczynski
8. othe
9. saddambitcoin

This is a "buyer funded" coin, but the funding transaction must be created to my technical specifications. By doing this I can ship the coin unfunded to its final destination and store no private keys, yet still have its funding/spent status provable to a 3rd party. A certificate with all the details necessary to prove funding status is included.

This coin's address is (0/zero doesn't exist in base58):

Some pictures:

The coin is quite small, and the text, especially on the obverse didn't turn out as sharp as I wanted, both in pictures and on the coin itself. The date also has an error; it's slightly off its intended location (all 10 coins are like this).

Q&A

Who are you? Why should I trust you?
You shouldn't. The other buyers will vouch for me, however, you should still DYOR.

Do you accept escrow?
Sure, though it's safer to stay away altogether as only roughly 60-70% of the final value can be ensured by escrow.

What is the gold content?
1oz 0.9999 purity

What does it say? I can't read the text.
The obverse says "nenia libereco sen privateco", which is Esperanto for "no freedom without privacy". The reverse says "forto en nombroj", "strength in numbers", and "unu unco .9999 oro", "one ounce .9999 gold".

How does funding work?
The exact final details will be worked out with the buyer. The funding transaction must be constructed in a particular way to match the details at http://au10.llcoins.net/. 1,000 XMR for funding must be in escrow before the coin ships.

How does the coin store Monero?
There is a hexadecimal seed on a piece of paper under the hologram. The digital form was never saved to any disk; the only other paper copy was destroyed after the coins were assembled. To redeem, peel the hologram and enter the seed into the provided conversion utility on the coin's page: http://au10.llcoins.net/. The format of the seed is standard for Monero private keys, not proprietary, so any number of tools could offer conversion if the site were to go offline.

How is this being sold?
By auction, starting now and ending next Friday the 17th at 20:00 UTC (4PM EDT). Bids should be in XMR in minimum increments of 25 (1,000 funding amount not included). A 15-minute grace period applies at the end. I reserve the right to refuse your bid, cancel/move/extend/change the auction, etc.

What about shipping?
Shipping will be flat-rate: $25 in USA, $50 outside, payable in BTC or XMR.

Update: auction over. Lloydimiller4 has won for at 1,800 XMR bid.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: June 01, 2016, 02:40:41 PM
The point is somewhat valid for Monero though, since we do now have lightWallet, MyMonero and a few others.

Those solutions are not great though, given the issue of resources. I believe MyMonero still does not support integrated addresses for example (not positive, as I don't use it). It definitely doesn't support tx-keys (needed for proof of payment) meaning it can't be used with bitsquare.

I don't mean that to call out fluffypony for doing anything wrong, as I think MyMonero overall is basically great, but it is hard to for all third party projects to justify a lot of resources for development when the coin is small as are the revenue opportunities for such a product.

It has supported integrated addresses for some weeks now.

One last question.  What is the emission / inflation rate of monero and where does it end?  currently at 11.8m according to coincap...will it go higher than that?

The base supply for variable rewards (each block pays out a tiny fraction of the remaining base supply, so as a result the block reward continuously decline slowly) is about 18.4 million. Once the reward reaches a minimum of 0.3/minute (0.6 per block given the current 2 minute blocks, though that could change) it will stay there forever. In theory this means the total supply is infinite, but once it reaches the 0.3/minute level the rate of growth will be very slow, <1% per year.

You can also observe the daily inflation here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qXi7zUSIh7F6UuSuhOryyFbHEy_LJuym3I3neAga_2s/

Hasn't been adjusted for 2 minute blocks yet, but that doesn't really matter since the inflation per minute stayed the same.

It what?

...
oh okay, thanks for clearing that up.  An M to XMR is like a Satoshi to BTC.

So the current amount of inflation is gradually descending.  What would be the expected supply of XMR by 2022?

Somewhere around 18.4M. Could be a little less because of block reward penalties.

cool so 11.8 now, 18.4 by then.  That's not bad at all.

It'll be about 18.1M when the minimum reward kicks in (can find it all in the spreadsheet linked above).
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Squares -- A place to gamble your favorite altcoins. on: May 20, 2016, 03:36:56 PM
Interested. It will suck for Luigi if not all squares are filled and he has to send back everyone's bets. Or does escrow just get to keep all the bets if that happens Tongue

Yeah... I haven't really figured out what to do if that happens... this might be a little tougher than I thought  Cry well shit... Roll Eyes

Any ideas?

Use 0.1 BTC and bet a mbtc on every square, and allow more than one person to buy the same square, then split winnings proportionally to how many tickets each winner had on that square.

Or just offer to buy the board out of whatever isn't bought when it's time to close betting.

This is probably easiest and should be zero sum.

Thanks for your help.  I was hoping to come home last night to a full sync.  Still going on almost exactly 24 hours later.  Almost 9GB blockchain file so far.

I'm getting a lot of "unknown top block" errors now or something near the end.  And sometimes it says I am x days ahead?

https://puu.sh/oXEb5/9bd12d2bce.png

You are very close. "unknown top block" isn't an error, it's a message. Don't worry about the ones that say you are ahead, those are from an old peer (it got blocked in your case right after).

Hi guys, I'm not sure if you have decided on a name for the first non beta release yet but I would like to put forth "warptangent", I think it would be a fitting tribute.

Surprisingly no elements begin with the letter 'w'. Could go with tungsten warptangent for the 74th release tho.

I wonder how much the user class ratios have changed since they were first analyzed a year or two ago

Congrats on legendary, brethren  Smiley

Thanks vokain, nice to be in good company. I have a script for looking at unique posters in a thread, maybe I'll try to modify it this weekend to check class as well and answer that question...

I'd be interested to see it again.

Just FYI, semiweekly = 2x / week. On the other hand, biweekly can be either 2x / week or every other week, but usually means every other week. Perhaps you could use "fortnightly" for an abundance of clarity. Smiley

Moneros, which party holds ViewKey? Only the sender or also the receiver of funds? Or both?

All users have their own viewkey.

So the fund sender can uncover and identify the IP of the receiver by ViewKey?

The viewkey is completely unrelated to any IP address identification.

If you are asking about the sender uncovering the receiver's address, then he already has it (he needs it to send funds in the first place). The receiver, on the other hand, cannot tell the sender's address, only that he received money from somewhere.
