No escrow? What prompted you to make that decision?
I'm not shipping anything of value if there is even the remotest possibility that I would not get the funds. Err .... that's the idea of escrow. To protect both parties when trading something of value. Do you think the buyer doesn't have same feelings as you about not wanting to be ripped off? Possibly yes. However I am the one selling the gold and these are my terms. I don't like the idea of shipping something to someone without having the money on hand, that's generally how business works. You order something online, pay your money and then the goods are delivered. That's what happens with trusted established businesses. But this is bitcointalk with a scam a day and you have no trading reputation. If you think anyone is going to send you 20,500B in advance and "hope" they receive a piece of gold in the post, you are dreaming ... or worse. I'm just putting it out there, if no one wants it that's fair enough. I'd also be happy to do cash in person but that would suggest you were in Thailand so could simply but it yourself for a bit less.

Yes, but this is Bitcoin. Most online retailers use a reversible payment system. If your gold is fake or you just don't send it, the buyer loses their money and there's not much they can do about it. Agreed, but if the buyer claims the gold is fake or claims they didn't receive it there's not much I could do about that aswell.

EDIT2: OK I will accept escrow. But will only sell to very, very trusted members. I have a 1 Baht Thai gold bar for sale - (96.5%). Total weight is 15.244 grams. I will accept 20,600 THB in either THB or BTC. THB can be sent via WU. International shipping can be either by EMS or DHL and you have to cover the fees for this. I'm not accepting escrow for this sale and will not ship until I have the funds on hand. I can get more of these, different designs and different weights from 0.5 Baht up to 10 Baht bars. Buying Thai gold is one of the cheapest ways to pay as close to spot as possible for even the smallest bars. Please see pics below and post on here if your interested. EDIT: I would prefer payment in THB - Prices in BTC will be 15% more expensive.

Economy / Lending / Re: Requirements for BTC Loan

I've always though it was ridiculous the way people want collateral in the form of an alt coin equating to MORE than the value of the actual loan. The person wanting to borrow might as well exchange his alt coin for the coin he wants.
You didn't think this through, did you? Perhaps not. I personally have no desire for a loan, I just think there should be a better way to go about getting one for people that do. If you had £1000 in cash and needed $1000 for whatever reason would you borrow $1000 from someone else using £1000 as collateral? No, you would think that the person offering this loan had been completely removed from their senses for even suggesting this.

With a margin that slim, your timing would have to be perfect, and you have to be willing to put some serious skin in the game, if you want to make any sort of real money.
What should I be careful about? Does BTC-e accept limit orders? Nothing at all to be careful about. If you buy at $800 you can guarantee there is no chance that the price will go down - it will definitely go in the direction YOU want it to go every time. I can see you making an absolute fortune at trading BTC/USD and am very envious of you. I only wish I could do the same.......

What you're talking about basically is arbitrage of a sort. Problem is liquidity. You have to be certain that your buy/sell orders are carried out instantly. You're also betting that the value will continue in that pattern.
It's possible, but the liquidity problem adds to the difficulty.
Good Luck!!!
What the OP described is in no way arbitrage. Arbitrage is taking advantage of the price differences between markets of the same commodity. What the OP described is called 'trading' and his 'strategy' is in no way such. Buying low and selling high is the basic idea of trading. A strategy is HOW you intend to do so.

The best may be explain escrow: You have coin and the buyer has $. You send the coin to the escrow who holds it and advises the buyer. The buyer than sends the money to you. Once you confirm receipt the escrow will release the coins to the buyer. If for some reason the buyer doesn't pay you know you will get your coins back - so you need a trusted escrow.
