1  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: How long to crack 24 word phrase if you know all 24 words out of order? on: August 17, 2022, 04:30:09 PM
I also scrambled my 24 seedphrase and added 1 word to make it more difficult  saved it on my emails and other places less secured. I am confident that no one will be able to guess it including me. And that's the reason why I wrote down the sequence like a code and made it into an NFT so it have a record in blockchain and will never be lost. So when the time comes that I want to access my assets, I will just search for my NFT in opensea (contains the code) and then run through my email for my scrambled seed phrase then I'm good to go. Anyone wants to tell me what's the risk?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When will ICOs die? on: July 28, 2018, 08:51:38 AM
I don't think ICOs will die anytime soon. ICO's are great way to publicize a certain project too.
The more people involved the more it creates hype to the public. It's what most cryptocurrency projects need.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Token goes down. Wait or sell? on: July 28, 2018, 08:48:02 AM
I'd always wait until it goes up to the desired price I want, then that's the time I sell.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I need a story from you on: March 03, 2018, 01:40:45 AM
According to your experience, do you ever get the profit/token bounty income in accordance with the benefits you expect ?, If ever, try to tell me briefly from the start you receive the token until you reach his income.

The first bounty I made around $200, i was not expecting to get a payout at all. I was already happy and contented knowing that with "little effort" you can get some profits. I traded all the tokens because I thought the value is already high and didnt believe it would go up anytime soon. Also I have no plans on re investing with that token. After a week/s, When I checked coinsmarketcap just for the heck I saw the token's price doubled. I had little regrets but hey for a first timer $200 on social media bounties its a good enough.

The next bounty tokens I got have total value of $1700 and the campaign only lasted 2 weeks as it was sold out and ICO was very successful, I got more lucky this time. I sold half and then held the other half. This time the value of the token hasnt gone up and it keeps going down. I had regrets but still happy. Since I'm only doing social media bounty I do not expect much so the bounty tokens keep surprising me. If my next bounty will give me more than the last one I got, I might expect really a lot from bounties but I'll try not to I'll just think that I got lucky.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any new coin for invest and HODL? on: February 12, 2018, 03:16:48 PM
I know you are looking for suggestion on what new coins to invest as to give you idea on what to research/look into.
I cannot give you a suggestion as my opinion would be bias. So I will just give you some tip on what I usually look into.

1.) Check on ICO's that has product already - If the product is already there and is already working, your investment are more likely safe and you'll soon get your rewards.
2.) Check the community - If the community are solid and you can see plenty of support. They usually create noise and will attract investors and that will most likely create a value to the coin.
3.) Check the team behind - If you see an active team and can always see updates and progress, it's a good sign to me. It could be worth to invest.
4.) Check the Popularity - This will contribute much to the value but you have to be careful because not all coins can maintain its popularity, they also crash big time. So you have to know when to join and when to get out if you base your investment only to popularity.

This is not a professional advise. These are only my personal tips I can give with my short experience here in cryptoworld.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: MyCrypto or MyEtherWallet on: February 12, 2018, 02:58:41 PM
I have used MEW for quite some time now so far it never gave me any problems. I don't know about mycrypto but I'm more comfortable with MEW as of the moment. I wouldn't switch to something else as long as there's NOT really a need to. But I'm not closing my door to mycrypto so we'll just see how this new one goes.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Too much new members... Good or not? on: February 12, 2018, 12:25:00 PM
I don't think we have too much members, mostly they are just alts. For me, It's actually good to have new members it helps the community grow. The more our community grow, the more people will be aware of cryptocurrencies and that means more supporters and investors. There are some who thinks that more members means more competition. Those who think that way are only thinking of themselves instead of helping the crypto community. The only thing bad I see with new members are those that are spammers/scammers. They are certainly making bitcoin and altcoin having bad images. Even the bad image I think it still helped crypto being known. Bad publicity is still publicity after all.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Must Read: Newbies and Merits on: February 08, 2018, 03:21:43 AM
The most important tip: read more than you write!

I agree with you, I am mostly reading and observing the forum.
For now the best I can give is what I have observed and hopefully it helped some newbies, because all of the comments here helped me learn a lot.

Thanks for these tips. They are indeed correct in my own view. I would have given you some good merits if I were merit rich like some legends here Smiley. All the same, thanks. However, I would like to add some tips I think could help in earning merits.

•Always be polite in your comments and posts. You do not need to be confrontational or abusive to make a counter point.

•Be factual: Factual accuracy is as important as your grammar and mechanical accuracy, if not more. So avoid vogue or assumptious figures when making references, otherwise you won't be taken seriously.

•Don't be absolute or assertive with your views. Always leave some room for other people's opinion.

Correct I'll take note of that, Thank you for your input.
9  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Bounties on: February 04, 2018, 07:47:59 AM
I have suggested somewhat the same idea like this and I agree to every suggestion that have the same thought like this. It's gives more chances for those unpopular person that gives contribution with high quality post and to those newbies that can really contribute, they deserve merits.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Must Read: Newbies and Merits on: February 04, 2018, 07:32:37 AM
A lot of new users are asking how to get merits so I have compiled some "tips" that I have observed that is newbie friendly.
I joined just few days before the merits so yeah I'm one of those users that was not lucky enough to rank up before merit system came.
This thread is like Tips on how to get merits for us newbies.

As you can see I have no merits yet. I think I have already commented and made few post already. I tried to be helpful and answered some question few newbies raised but none of them are merit worthy as per the readers. I really thought that if you help answer some questions you'll get merits but I think I was wrong.

I have been a member of some forums in the past and they also have this system but a bit different, only mods can add merit and they will merit almost 100% of your post that answers questions from newbies or users. So I thought maybe I will get few merits by helping since users have been giving away merits to some post that I myself would think doesn't really contribute to the community and that it's not really a quality post and that those post that got merits are usually something that users have agreed.

My observation:

  • So I think to be able to gain attention to your post you have to post something that people can relate into(I don't think my post are relatable to those with smerts because they are those that are high ranked and me as a newbie cannot really contribute much that is relatable to them or to their likings)

  • If you agree on a certain post your positive comment should explain further why you agreed to the post make it more specific
  • For users that are poor in English like me, try to post something "helpful" in Local Threads (I post sometimes in Local thread but giving merits there is not really popular so this one doesnt work for me)
  • Post on something controversial, hot topics and the likes[/b]. Those Topics that gets much and attention and plenty of replies. Hight ranked guys and merit sources usually read those thread for argumentation or maybe just for laughs
  • Make your post easy to read and presentable, If necessary you have to make Use of the font size, style, colors and other formatting available in the forums
  • Always try to make post that can positively contribute to the forums like for example you want to report someone for doing shady stuff on forums. Make sure to create a post like that and gather evidences

Please feel free to add more tips on your observation I'd like to hear other observation from newbies especially those that already got plenty of merits legally (not given by friend/trading/purchased)

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Financial freedom, is it possible in 1-2 years? on: January 29, 2018, 12:06:18 PM

I think when you have a solid plan and you stick to it, it is possible, even with a start of $ 200.

I agree with you, I started out investing a very small amount and I have planned it really well, within a year I already hit more than my desired target. Here in cryptoland there's nothing impossible
you just need to be aware of everything and continue to grow and learn by being updated to news and articles and open to everything. Cryptocurrencies changed my life and changed the way I think in a positive way. This 2018 my target will be the financial freedom I am dreaming and I am positive that I am almost there.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get someone to trust in Bitcoin. on: January 27, 2018, 03:12:19 PM
It's very hard to get someone to trust bitcoin if you are just a regular guy. In order for them to trust something it needs to be reflected from you. Like for example if you are crazily rich person right now because of bitcoin and if you preach it to the guys around you the chance for them to trust you will be high because the good side of the bitcoin shows in you. Now if you belong to those that haven't made much $$ out of bitcoin it will be very hard for you to explain and convince them even if you have a high technical knowledge about it.
13  Other / Meta / Re: How Do You Feel About This New System?? on: January 27, 2018, 01:02:04 PM
I am also neutral about this. I am happy that this will atleast prevent spammers and discourage them to create multiple accounts posting rubbish. But I am also not happy for myself and for newbies like me who will be take time to rank up and most likely be ignored even when they are posting high quality. But I am also touched with the other high ranked members who are trying their best to genuinely help the newbies out there to get merits and also teaching us what quality post are. I'm sure it will be difficult for me to get a high rank because English is not my first language and also I still need to learn a lot for me to contribute more in this community.
14  Other / Meta / Re: 'Merit' System is a SLAP to the term 'Decentralisation' on: January 27, 2018, 12:39:28 PM
I agree with you and plenty here already said about the forum not being decentralize which is like opposite of the ideaa we support with the cryptocurrency and its decentralization. But you have to understand that we are joining a forum with admins & moderators. We have to respect the rules and the system they implement which I agree that it's like being controlled by government. I personally do not like it and want the way it was before. But I want to be a member here and engage more in the community so i will try my best to stay and embrace the system. You actually have the option to stay and try your best to post that contributes to the community or just walk away. You do not need to be high ranked to support the idea behind cryptocurrency and you also do not need to be a member here to learn and share about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Now if you are here to rank up I think it is just right to follow the rules no one forces as to be here. Do not worry about your merit, there's already a lot of ways on how to earn merits. Few of the high ranked members already made threads that gives chances to us to get merits and there's also contests if you just read and search you'll find there's plenty out there.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can I protect my self from being hack of bitcoin on: January 27, 2018, 05:03:20 AM
These are my tip for you,
Many of this things I learned from the internet like forum discussions and tutorials.

First like people say here, never trust anyone
Keep your private key safe
Always backup
Use an offline wallet
Never leave your btc/coins on an exchange site
Avoid browsing shady website
Always have anti virus and the likes in your computer
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To be honest, how many people use bitcoin to invest on: January 27, 2018, 04:57:02 AM
I invested some of my money in bitcoins and I know most of the people here in this forum invested in bitcoin as well. The friends around me and people in my country already have idea what bitcoin is but not a total understanding of it. There's already more and more people everyday noticing bitcoin and that will eventually lead to investing. While the main purpose of bitcoin is to be like a payment instrument, most people do not use bitcoin to purchase goods anymore because of its value, they would rather keep the bitcoin thats why its a very popular investment now.
17  Economy / Reputation / Re: aTriz and Lauda just got merit! on: January 27, 2018, 01:57:18 AM
Even if they don't need the merits it's still not right trading merits with friends. They are here before us and they should set an example. They are in the position already and it comes with responsibility. Now the problem is when unsignificant people trade merits they tag them red trust but why not atriz and lauda? so there's always and exemption? I was happy that this merit system was  introduced and that there are few people giving chances to the newbies by making thread for them so that they can at least prove their worth, but when I see this post it makes me sad. Now I now believe in the post I saw that rich will be rich and poor will be poor here.
18  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Giveaway Thread? on: January 25, 2018, 06:03:32 AM
Thank you for your offer, I appreciate it. You are sweet. I just wanted to speak what is on my mind. While I'm also concerned with my merit I am more concerned with other people here in the community that are trying but might have no chance. Will the others gets a chance like this? Probably not.
19  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Giveaway Thread? on: January 25, 2018, 05:43:47 AM
I don't get why we require a dedicated thread for this? And what exactly would people write in there? Anything as long as it's constructive? Sounds like it'd be an off topic mess to me. Why can't they just contribute to decent discussion in any of the other thousands of threads? This just seems like it'd turn into a merit begging thread. If you want merit then make decent well-thought out posts and you'll get it eventually.

I get your point. But that's also what people are scared of, like they are posting quality post but are still ignored. How many new people have been merited now for their good post?
Also if this section or dedicated thread cannot be implemented that's okay so I'll just ask a different question. So how about if I start a thread that says please tell me "Which is your favorite coin and why, I will give merit to whoever has the best answer/explanation"
is that allowed?
20  Other / Meta / Merit Giveaway Thread? on: January 25, 2018, 05:28:40 AM
I have a suggestion or maybe a crazy idea for some. Since the launch of the merit system, there are plenty of people wondering about its effectiveness against spammers and there's the threat of selling/trading merit that 'may' defeat its purpose. Plenty of people agreed and said that its a good idea and some are hesitant because its just give High Rank account more advantage and also newbie creating good post might likely be ignored and wouldn't be given merits.

So I'm wondering if a Giveaway thread be allowed? Making newbies and other forum members participate a friendly discussion/debate or whatsoever in which they can reply a quality post meant to be merited if and only if the thread starter/admin/mod find his/her reply a good one. Shitposters that clearly just post shit will immediately earn negative Merit or neg Trust. This can be a Thread or a Section or a Contest?

Advantage:
Newbies who likes to comment quality post will have a chance to be noticed on this thread since the thread is for merits. I see people commenting on the Merits post on theymos that most likely they will just be ignored and wont be given merits even if they have quality post, so this might solve that.

People will try to engage on that certain thread to reply in good quality and we will have a good conversation.

Smerit People - they won't be having difficulty looking for good quality post since there's a thread in which you can browse and can freely giveaway your smerit if you feel like being generous. Of course you can still give smerits to other sections or threads on forum.

I know the idea is flawed but if people can add something with this idea it would be great. I'm not good in conveying my thoughts so probably I will never get a merit to any of my post which I think is the problem with other people or newbies here but I would want the merit system to be more newbie friendly or atleast for those that try to engage and have a quality post.
