681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [1 BTC reward] Help me setup Reaper v13 to mine LTC with my 6950s on: March 05, 2012, 09:33:18 PM
Cayman: 69xx
Barts: 68xx
Cypress: 58xx
Juniper: 57xx
Tahiti: 79xx

Trying to use the kernel for Barts from Cayman doesn't seem to work... (connects to pool, but only gives stales)

I'm pretty sure my 6950 is a Cayman. That's what GUIminer sees my cards as, and that's what Reaper seems to use/build if I remove the cayman.bin file

Keep in mind this is a nearly fresh install of Win7, only Catalyst, and MSI Afterburner installed. I'm guessing there's some sort of distributable .Net or C+ that Reaper needs...

Also increasing this to 2 BTC, I gotta figure this out...
682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [1 BTC reward] Help me setup Reaper v13 to mine LTC with my 6950s on: March 03, 2012, 09:02:40 AM
I tried with worksize 128 & hash reduced to 45 from 226 & also not submitting shares.
changing worksize to 256 started mining.

Does your 5870 have 1 or 2 GB or memory?

I think it's safe to assume that only worksize 256 actually works.

So the problem is now getting the program to start with "worksize 256" without crashing...
683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [1 BTC reward] Help me setup Reaper v13 to mine LTC with my 6950s on: March 03, 2012, 08:17:12 AM
I tried aggression 1 --> 20 at workload 256 and it always crashes

Then set workload to 128 and tried aggression 1, 4, 10, 14, 18 and they all gave the correction error.

I then tried CPU mining using those settings on that same machine, and it wouldn't connect.

Changed the port to 8337, now the CPU miner submits shares.

Changing the port to 8337 on the GPU miner no longer gives me a connection error, it just mines forever without submitting any shares or giving any error messages.

Funny thing is, changing the worksize to 255 or 257 makes it not crash anymore, but still no shares being submitted. I get the feeling worksize 256 is the only one that will actually mine properly.

Can anyone else try changing their worksize and see if they still submit shares?
684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thread about GPU-mining and Litecoin on: March 03, 2012, 06:28:49 AM
I've posted a whopping 1 BTC reward for help to figure this out.
685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [EXPIRED] Help me setup Reaper v13 to mine LTC with my 6950s on: March 03, 2012, 06:26:32 AM
EDIT: Increasing reward to 2 BTC

This seems to be an issue of getting Reaper to start, rather than just a connection problem, as it will run without submitting shares at any worksize other than 256.

Thought I should mention that this is a nearly fresh install of Windows 7 x64, only Catalyst and MSI Afterburner installed. I'm guessing there's some sort of distributable .Net or C+ that Reaper needs...

Will post GPU Caps and ATI Control Center screens when I get back.

A whole 2.0 BTC you ask? That's right  Cheesy

I've tried everything I can think of to get reaper to submit actual shares:  Huh

-Default worksize 256: Crashes (see first screenshot)
-Changed worksize 128: Couldn't connect to server
-Solo mining (as per tacotime): Couldn't connect to server
-http://pool-x.eu, litecoinpool.org, litecoin.miningpool.com, lc.ozco.in: Couldn't connect to server
-Disabled firewall (I know bad idea, re-enabled since this didn't help)
-connected machine straight to modem, no router/switches/hubs
-Plugged only one card straight into motherboard (as opposed to 5 cards on 1xPCIe extensions)

I was sure this file was a hoax, but I see it works for other people, so this is no longer about LTC as it is figuring out wtf I'm doing wrong.

I put this in the Alt section as its not BTC mining related

Also, if a combination of techniques is required, the reward will be split equally among whichever gurus submitted the solutions.

Here are some screens to give some idea of what I'm running:

Reaper crashes if I run it at default worksize of 256

It runs at worksize 128, but I get the same old "Couldn't connect to server" timeout message, no matter if I'm solo or pool mining.

I should put a 1 BTC bounty on this...
687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thread about GPU-mining and Litecoin on: March 01, 2012, 07:46:34 PM
I have Radeon 6950s on Win7 x64 bit, and this GPU miner doesn't actually work. It either crashes, or fails to connect.

Also, the fact that the LTC network hash rate DROPPED after the release of this "demo" suggests this is a HOAX, and not actually able to submit legit shares for mining LTC
688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats your litecoin hash rate on: March 01, 2012, 07:25:07 PM
204kh/s on 5830  Grin with this http://solidcoin.info/reaper.html

Is it actually submitting shares though? What does your Litecoin.conf file look like?
689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thread about GPU-mining and Litecoin on: March 01, 2012, 04:21:52 PM
Doesn't work for me: always times out when trying to reach the pool...
hostname used should be without prefix http://
I tried both: with http, without http, also with IP instead of host name, different ports (using pool-x so I could try port 80, 8080, etc), nothing worked Sad

Same here, tried 4 pools, nothing would connect.

A hoax to instill uncertainty in a competing crypto currency? Given how outspoken the SC team are against LTC, I don't see why they are holding back with Demo versions if they have a real opportunity to cripple a competitor.

Does this pool mine NameCoins or not? theres a big "?" on the Comparison of Mining Pools

eleuthria, I'm getting idle miner notifications even though they’ve kept a constant connection. I have it set at 10 minutes. You might want to check it out.

Same here, and last submitted share on My Account is not advancing either.

I have one machine on CGminer and the other on GUIminer and NEITHER are reporting shares on the site, even though they're being reported as accepted by the mining software.
693  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1293 GH] BTC Guild - Pure PPS Merged Mining [BIP16/P2SH Support] on: February 13, 2012, 07:29:16 AM
I just switched to this pool and my miners are routinely getting "connections problems" simultaneously for 5-30 seconds every 30 mins or so. Is that normal for this pool?

Can you give me more information? Miner software + version, location, speed of the individual miner.

Using GUI miner 20110701 on two machines, 4x 6950 and 5x 6950, each card at ~340 MHs
I'm in Vancouver, Canada, could they just be timing out waiting for work?
This wasn't an issue at the last pool, but it could be my location...

And I'm also having the isue of "last share" at 2 hours despite my miners submitting shares, and 24 hr earnings dropping while they're all running...

I have just switched to CGminer and have 3 of my 4 cards running at their usual speed ~360 MH/s but the card with the monitor connected is getting 260 MH/s

I tried using the "-I 9,9,9,9" intensity setting but nothing changes.

Anyone have any hints? They were all running at 360 MH/s in GUI miner until the bug hit.
696  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GUI mining - updated Aug 24 with new miner versions on: February 10, 2012, 11:31:43 PM

so far as i can see:

guiminer-20110824.exe seems to be the poclbm-broken-one

guiminer-20110701.exe is poclbm-o.k. and does his good mining-job  Grin

I swithed, and it submits shares now, but I went from 1.45 GHs to 1.35 GHs...

Two months after I finally got everything running properly, gotta start fiddling with it again....  Undecided

There are rumors of people GPU mining litecoins with fairly decent results. But they're keeping the miner under wraps  Huh

Is it planned for DeepBit to support Merged Mining (Bitcoind + Namecoin, like BTC Guild does) in the near future?

They do, they just keep the NMCs.
Proof?

Either they're keeping them, or they're a bunch of ignorant idiots... or just lazy  Tongue
