1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ARG Puzzle with 3.5 BTC Private Key Prize *new hint on: June 30, 2014, 07:34:46 PM
So now I and others have to depend on those who actually play MC?

OP: Sorry but you lost it. ARGs are about knowledge, mostly.
Not having to play another game to continue yours.....
Disappointed at you girl......

EDIT: I know you are reading this Alice, so, ARGs are also about freely available info, so long as you know or know how to search for them.
Once again, disappointed at you.

Maybe I feel differently because I know and like MC and bought it a long time ago when it was cheap, but I think it's cool that we're had some of the interesting jumps that we've had. I've also played ARGs that require small amounts of money to play, or at least to get past certain steps.

My one concern about MC is that the server is deformable and I showed up late to the party, so I have no idea what the world looked like in its original state.

edit: and that concern is apparently not a real concern due to the regular server reset! heh. Smiley

Just because you and many other people like MC doesn't change the fact that this is not ARG anymore IMO.
Like I said ARGs are based on FREELY available information.
BTW, you seem to have just joined when the game started and actually provided a lot of valuable clues....
Thank you for that Wink

Dude, don't be so butt hurt. I'm sure this is just a piece of the puzzle. Chillax, bro. http://www.unfiction.com/compendium/2006/11/10/undefining-arg/

So, what about: Having to play another game to continue another makes me butt hurt to you?
Have you ever played ARGs before?

Yeah, I have, I've played them from the unfiction forum. They're all different. There's no rules, only un-rules.  Cheesy Suck it up, you big baby.

Just check after the restart, if anything changed?

Mby someone did destroy a vital block and it was restored?

Or does it not work that way.

The settings don't seem to allow anyone to make any changes to the map

and also

The server just closed... It told us that our time was up.
EDIT: NVM. It's open again. I guess that was a restart.

The server resets every hour. lolololol OP is evvvvviiilllll

How about Zelda? The Dark Wallet logo with the additional triangle section suggests an inverted Triforce. In Link to the Past, you can get a magic cape and turn invisible, rendering enemies unable to attack.

that was my thought as well, so we need another triangle to make a triforce maybe. Still on.mobile but maybe she has a user on one of the zelda wikis as well.

WHAT?

Obviously she is referring to "contra code." Have you ever played a classic video game and used a cheat? Start with the obvious, expand from there.

For example following contra code: there is a bit . ly address, which uses the blue "dot" as an internet "dot." Just sayin: Obvious code is obvious.

The word "CoNtra" pops up to me.

Current hint: ask a classic, avid gamer

"Contra" - my guess is contra code: http://www.ign.com/cheats/games/c-nes-5653

That wiki needs severe editing. It makes my head hurt how inaccurate it is. Who came up with that translation of the morse? If you just go through the morse you'll see it clearly says "end stop words" there's no "I" at the end of the word phrase. I don't have time, but hopefully someone will make the needed edits.

WTF?! Does anyone know anything about this update? Someone must be hoarding solves. Not cool bro.

*Update 6/29

- Message decoder has been discovered.

From what I can tell no one should be feeling bad. Without all of the hints OP has been giving, we wouldn't have gotten anywhere.

Based on OP's latest update it looks like it might be time to leave the picture for the next phase of this adventure.

- Embedded morse code has been solved: "They cannot attack what they do not see"

*Portrait is a "shared start point." Google is your friend.

If we all start scouring the search results for "they cannot attack what they do not see" we're bound to find something (unless I'm misinterpreting that hint).

Now that BTC has topped $1000 there is a movement to start talking in mBTC to overcome the psychological barrier of only being able to purchase a small part of something.  I think a much simpler solution that will never require additional changes is to simply start referring to uBTCs as "bits."  Each BITcoin is made up of 1,000,000 bits.  An additional benefit is that each bit then consists of 100 Satoshi's.  It couldn't be much simpler and more accessible to the average person.

1 BTC = 1,000,000 Bits = 100,000,000 Satoshi's

I'd would much rather deal with bits than any kind of BTC prefix when it comes to a currency and I think the general populace would as well.

More compelling argument here:  http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1rmto3/its_bits/
