121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Latest "China" *announcement* carefull "FUD"...& coindesk continued it?? on: December 17, 2013, 12:05:06 AM
People on here still think it's just a rumour? lol denial

Aside from that article on coindesk and their "sources" what proof is there that anything has actually happened?

Its been hours now. Either those sources are being very tightlipped or its all fabricated.
122  Other / MultiBit / Can I print a wallet file in notepad as a backup? on: December 16, 2013, 07:36:43 PM
If I print the wallet text(encrypted) will I be able to unencrypt it and recover the wallet that way if I need to?

Or do I need to get another program to make a paper backup?
123  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason for Today's Crash: China Bans Bitcoin Payment Processors on: December 16, 2013, 07:22:45 PM

This is further clarified in the article:

People will still be able to withdraw their money from Chinese exchanges, they just won’t be able to deposit new funds. - You can only sell Bitcoins on exchange and withdraw Fiat, but not deposit Fiat to buy coins.

People will still be able to sell their bitcoins for local currency and then withdraw that currency

If true, I guess this is better than exchanges not being able to operate at all, but having to deposit in BTC prevents new people from coming in and obtaining bitcoins. Also, this doesn't bode well for what might happen in the future.
124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coindesk - China might have just killed BTC there. on: December 16, 2013, 07:16:05 PM
The Chinese will just get their coins some other way. It's not exactly difficult to buy coins outside of exchanges.

If this is true there won't be many ways to get bitcoins. Basically just cash in person. Sure, you can take bank transfers, but that will be illegal.
125  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason for Today's Crash: China Bans Bitcoin Payment Processors on: December 16, 2013, 06:41:53 PM
Anyone have any other sources ?

This seems a little strange to me.
126  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blacklist for scammers buying bitcoin and litecoin on Ebay with paypal on: December 15, 2013, 09:51:58 PM
The blacklist is simple. All!
It's been said a lot of times before.
Don't use PP or E-bay.

There are like 100 of these threads. Don't try it. It looks too good to be true because it is.

127  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much money have you ever made online? on: December 15, 2013, 08:50:31 PM
Plenty of good promos floating around the gambling section if you know where to look.

Far better than faucets that is for sure.

130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do I go about making a paper wallet? on: December 14, 2013, 05:48:40 PM
Here is something you should NOT do:

You have a paper wallet with 10 BTC, import it into bitcoin-qt to spend 1 BTC, then delete bitcoin-qt. The 9 BTC are lost.

Why?

bitcoin-qt sends the 9 BTC to a new change address that you do not have the private key of, once you delete bitcoin-qt.

Is this true?

Having a hard time figuring out if you can actually move part of a paper wallet and thus lose the rest or if its only possible to sweep a paper wallet.

Also, what is the reason paper wallets can't be partially spent?

Are there any betting markets?
Not the time weighted ones. Those are pretty silly for sports.

Gotta be some playthrough requirement or something right? Either way I like money.

So each of 6 players have a probability of winning the total jackpot equal to their share of the total prize pool?
135  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just got an international wire reversed! on: December 13, 2013, 04:34:31 PM
This is what worries me about using localbitcoins. I don't know nearly enough about banking to know which payment methods to take or how long I need to wait before I know the funds won't be taken back.
136  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anyone Gamble With bitcoins ?? on: December 13, 2013, 04:07:01 PM
If you want to play poker obviously seals with clubs is THE bitcoin poker room, but I'd suggest playing the freerolls on bitcoinpoker.io. They are giving $5 away every time 8 people sign up for an SNG and half the players are usually sitting out.
137  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: offline wallet address and checking balance on: December 13, 2013, 12:46:46 AM
Someone know of a technical article I can read that explains how addresses and keys are created?

I want to get an idea of how address creation works. For example, how you can create an address offline yet the network knows it.
138  Other / Meta / Re: Can we get a poker sub-forum in gambling... on: December 13, 2013, 12:21:29 AM
All the games that aren't poker are casino games anyway. Poker and Casino games. Blackjack, Baccarat, etc don't belong with poker. Pretty much all gambling games other than poker(Dice, blackjack, etc) fall under casino games. With the exception of sports betting.

There are other games that could go in with poker(Gin and Backgammon come to mind), but no one plays those other skill gambling games online so its a moot point.
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fidelity Now Allowing Bitcoins In IRAs on: December 12, 2013, 07:39:51 PM

Just a matter of time before someone allows it. Especially if they are getting a kickback from the trust(which they probably will).
140  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Without drug trading sites there would be no Bitcoin on: December 12, 2013, 07:22:29 PM
What evidence is there that bitcoin is more likely to be used in a drug sale than the $USD?

Pretty good evidence given how many coins the FBI recovered. How many non drug items do you think are sold using bitcoin right now?
