I think exchange effect is just a short term abberation. Long term prices shall be driven by its utility and efforts of developers. in short term it may see a upmove though, but these days such moves last for a day or two !

etherium is currently sitting in a comofrtable position after nitcoin. However, the competition is cropping up in the form of Neo and Stellar. So it has to move beyond ahead of time to stay relevant in longer run.

Bitcoin is like US Dollars in crypto world, widely accepted and base for other currencies to be pegged.

Altcoins are like Yen, CHF, Euro etc which are pegged to bitcoin  although each of them have a separate function in their own country.

Airdrops - Nothing to do except form fillling. generally been done to increase base.

Any associated activity like join telegram channel etc is also termed as airdrop but that is more like bounty task.

In my country, terms bitcoin and cryptocurrency are used interchangeably. Media reports now has started covering them speciallly when there is massive rise or fall. Its more like page 3 news currently, instead of informative merit based reporting.

As most other countries, its not legal here but its not claimed as illegal either

I dont think airdrop is charity by any means. airdrop has a task assigned with it.though task can be as small as joining a telegram channel. so ultimately ICOs are increasing subscriber base by showcasing their social channel to potential investors and you have rightfully contributed in that. So its a two way relationship. Problem arises when scam ICOs falters maligning the image of genuine ones as well at the same time.
