41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ••• [ANN][SMC] SmartCoin • KGW @ BLOCK 35k • 6 EXCHANGES ••• on: February 13, 2014, 04:11:32 PM
I remember this situation was once before with Vertcoin... Smiley I was thinking... To sell at 0.00049000 or not to sell. I've mined these 1000 VTC for 2 days.

Then decided to sell... And after few days price grow to 10x... It was on Cryptsy. Now think that when everybody screams "sell, sell, sell", it's time to buy, buy, buy.

Oh, these weak hands...

Ouch! I saw SMC hit coinmarket.io and sell at 0.00046000 (my hands were too strong  Roll Eyes), then drop all the way to 0.00003000 for quite a long time... then saw a BTC whale push it back up to 0.00037000, he left and it dropped down to 0.00019000, he came back and it went upto 0.00031000 and bounced around in 20s for a bit. Now here we are around 10-15. Cryptsy will be good *if* we can reliably transfer coins in and get onto the market when it goes live. If not we'll be left around the current price range, maybe 20s.

Don't forget many will have been unable to sell on coinmarket.io as they weren't aware of the updated wallet. This might result in a lot of dumping by the big switching pools who mined pre KGW.

Is one of the pools still over 51%? smc.hash.so was it? I can't remember, but shouldn't people be aware of this potential problem?

Can you confirm you got credited the correct amount of SMC? Not less, not more?

Thank you, I got the correct amount of SMC Smiley
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: February 13, 2014, 01:08:17 PM
I deposited some SMC an hour ago and they're visible but not confirmed. This is unusual for SMC as it's usually very quick. They did require people to upgrade the wallet yesterday I believe. Could this be the cause of the lack of confirmation? Thanks for any help.

Anyone else buying up rapidcoins? Once people are aware this thing can take off, plus it will be updated soon on cmk and its already low @ $25.000 Cheesy

I would buy up, but the "community takeover" is not organised enough yet. Too high risk for me, but maybe not for others.

Hi jpeggt,

Ultimately, although we're interested in input from the community on logos, the decision is not one best made by the community - what people who are involved now like (ie. miners and people knowledgable about cryptocurrency) vs. what a wider market consisting of non-technical people who know nothing about cryptos will like could be two entirely different things. I personally like the current logo - it's nice and simple, and it looks clean and elegant IMO, I also think that remaining consistent with the logo we've had up until now is best, even though I do like some of the submissions from the community I have seen in the thread.

I think if we all want to the see the most success we can for Vertcoin, we should defer certain aspects of our public face to people with experience and expertise - obviously the final decision is up to Bushido, this is just my opinion.

Good point.

I don't dislike the current logo, I just think perhaps its a little rough around the edges and a slight refinement would make it pop. I do agree that something completely different would be counter productive at this stage.

^ this. And it's exactly why I prefer this:

This is the kind of logo I could see in shop windows and as stickers on terminals etc. There have been some other submissions here but they look a little bit too much like they've been made by techie geeks (not an insult hehe) rather than experienced designers with an eye for UI / that sort of thing. This logo is clean, welcoming, modern, and friendly. It's also not a long stretch from the existing logo. It's just better. I appreciate the amount of work that goes into a replacement logo but I feel it's worth it.

I am afraid this fundraiser could fail due to the community being too greedy, reffering to the slogan: "mine and hold!"

No way!  We've raised 32%, already, we can do it!

Love the concept and all but I can't tell from the page where the money is going and through whose hands so no dice. Fix that and I will reconsider.

Side note, someone build a microloan market for vert in your spare time would you? Altcurrency would be so good for that. I know, big projrct but if anyone is looking for one of those, recruit some ambassadors from the coin community who live in impoversihed places and set up a way to put them on an honor system and get some money flowing.

http://vertcoinmarket.com/faq/ - it's held by the project. I know the guy personally. He's cool and is 100% invested into VTC. Of course, my word likely means nothing to people here but trust has to start somewhere. If you have suggestions for vertcoinmarket, please do say so! There is a reddit thread here: http://www.reddit.com/r/vertcoin/comments/1xgaoa/vertcoinmarketcom_crowdfunding_for_vtc_related/

Actually after another moment, I see your point. The funds will be released to "bitjedi" - a grey face who we know nothing about. Talking with the developer behind the website now.

To check how cryptsy is handling deposits i send each day a few VTC.
Last deposit now more than 18 hours and still not received.

Also Withdraw BTC no longer possible since more than 1 hour.
Always internal error.

Stop trading there. There are like a million posts on here complaining about cryptsy and you keep trading there. Coinedup is fixed up, it's kind of lame but I have done large volume, no lost transactions and a couple hours slowest confirm. Much improved this week and anyway you should be holding vtc so serves you right. Kidding I don't know that really but move or zip it, it's your own fault from here on out.

I don't know why people don't use coinmarket.io. It's so much faster than Coinedup and Cryptsy.

I think purple would be definitely better then limegreen.

Maybe you are right. Even an ORANGE with GREY for the copy could be a good match.

I don't take issue with this, but professionally speaking any colour selections should keep in mind their impact on those with visual impairments / colour blindness.

This is gorgeous. Any word on this from the official team?

All pools had wallet given to them all at the same time, was just one rouge pool that got too greedy.

As we have stated a couple of pages ago, we are willing to reimburse anyone that had lost coins because of them (will take some investigation, so not everyone message us trying to get free coins)

Thanks for continuing to reply, and persisting through the shit and hyperbole so far. Some of us believe you have good intentions. Good release. Don't worry it didn't go perfectly.

Awesome screwed over by not 1 but 2 pools for this launch. Must be some type of omen.
Rapidhash is working fine, if you're referring to them (as you mentioned them in the previous comment).
