1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BETA][EXCHANGE][REALTIME] CoinEX realtime exchange on: March 31, 2014, 03:37:51 AM
Bravo Erundook...nice to see it back up!  You have renewed my faith in your site somewhat.  I'd now like to see the 'full disclosure' that everyone has been asking for to complete the faith I need in the site and its administration so I can continue to trade there.

items requested:

- daily issue updates  (once a day is fine...this keeping everyone in the dark crap must end!)
- unobscured site information ('whois' info updated would be sufficient, don't need your home addr but you're a business now and need a solid presence)
- investor info (I'm a stakeholder to some degree in the longevity of your site, I'd like to know more...cryptostocks.com is pretty bare on the info as well)

I'd like to keep going forward with CoinEX since I've been with you since the beginning.  You don't seem like a scam (could be wrong in the long run) but you do need to start acting like a business and not a military grade missile silo!  Smiley

Thanks again Erundook and Capt...now, what say you?

my .02 satoshis...

while everyone else is bailing out of their rigs (thanks btw...I'm getting hardware cheap right now) I find it reassuring that he's taking a hit personally and trying to correct the community situation.  I was the first one to yell "fire" when this all started, but since that caused him to show himself on the forums and take responsibility for it all I'm quite supportive of the solution.

One thing to remember is he never said how many bitcoins were lost (unless I missed something along the way)...so, if it was 100% then getting back to 50% is something at least.  I doubt, since my coins were obviously moved to a cold storage when the hit was noticed, that it was 100%...so getting back 50% of what was lost means we'll have GREATER THAN 50% of the outstanding coins fully funded.  Example, if he lost 20% of total coins and 50% of those are recouped we're still at 90% fully funded on the site.

@erundook....I'd like a bit more insight to what the true #'s are (full disclosure will instill confidence), but at least there's hope.

...if CoinEX wants to be a business it needs to learn some business skills.  EVERYONE should have had an email in their inbox the moment a security issue was noticed which required the site to be offline, not a friggin tweet.  Then follow-ups should have happened regularly, with expectations set in the previous msg's.  If not you lose customers, plain and simple.

edit: not to mention losing credibility and allowing FUD to run wild.

If the site were still 'beta' and not taking out fees I'd be a bit more lenient.  Taking fees implies a professional operation and therefore a level of expectation on information shouldn't be "just wait".  As a customer I should be informed so as to reduce FUD.  It's CoinEX's responsibility to reduce FUD...not mine to sit in the dark and accept the lack of information.

I hope they'll do okay...I like CoinEX, but my concerns for security are now completely overshadowed by the lack of customer service from a professional operation.  We'll see if/how/when they come back and I'll decide my future based on their actions...

...till then, I'm just a mushroom...
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: UPDATED: Coinex finally let out a little info... on: March 18, 2014, 08:42:03 PM
I appreciate the update, but my multiple requests were ignored previously.  Also, I apologize if I'm the culprit here on posting what I knew and my conclusions.  You are the only one that can protect from FUD in the future and that's through clearly communicating ALL issues promptly, not waiting around and keeping us in the dark.

I love Coinex.PW and am thankful it'll still be around.  I'm concerned for the security of it and the lack of information about its current state.  I do wish you all the best and thank you for your time and efforts.  Just please remember, in the 21st century a 24hr wait time for information is completely unacceptable from a customer service standpoint.
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: CONFIRMED: Coinex.pw hacked/all coins stolen! on: March 18, 2014, 06:14:01 PM
neither...

there was a vague twitter post when the site was put into maintenance mode.  Stating:

"Security issue, investigating" - March 16th @ 1:57pm

The site's been down since right before that...

on March 17th "2014-03-17 15:39:36" (site down still) the outbound transfers happened.  So, no access to the outside world unless hacked or stolen by admin.

9  Economy / Trading Discussion / UPDATED: Coinex finally let out a little info... on: March 18, 2014, 04:57:06 PM
I'm generally not one to jump on the FUD bandwagon, but after looking into my account I can confirm that my ~250k Dogecoins on the site were systematically transferred to other wallets without my approval or initiation.

This would constitute either a breach of security or a deliberate action by the admins.  Regardless, the coins are stolen.

The timestamp for the first deduction from my wallet was "2014-03-17 15:39:36", afterwards 5k transfers were made continuously emptying the account within an hour.

Here's the proof right off dogechain.info

Fun stuff! Smiley
10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Coinex ? on: March 18, 2014, 04:25:48 PM
Coinex when thru a long downtime months ago (5-7 days or something like that) with no info then either.  I'll stay optimistic and not dive into the FUD right yet.  Hey, and if my 300k Dogecoins take a walk?  Oh well...I knew the risk...  Smiley

UPDATE:
well, I take back my optimism. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=521142.0

bleh...

I like "Lottocoin".  The fact that it has a gambling name tied to it isn't a factor, but for me a reminder.  With the volatility of any alt coin we're basically gambling that if nothing else the exchange rate will at least be the same as when we mined it.  So, much to the counter of something like "Stablecoin" the name "Lottocoin" seems much more appropriate.

That, and hopefully someday it'll be akin to hitting the lotto! Smiley

oh...and "Add Lottocoin"

This shits wack. I'm out.

Crappy launch.

You should take some lessons on how to do a proper launch.

NDL Noodlyappendagecoin was a PERECT launch. Take some notes next time.

Totally agree...seeya G(r)iftcoin Smiley
