1  Economy / Economics / Re: Recession in the Economy on: October 21, 2018, 04:34:43 PM
A fall-off in consumer demand is normally the culprit behind slowing growth. As sales drop off, businesses stop expanding. Soon afterward they stop hiring new workers. By this time, the recession is usually underway. A recession is destructive. It creates wide-spread unemployment, sometimes as high as 10 percent. That's when it affects most people. As the unemployment rate rises, consumer purchases fall off even more. Businesses go bankrupt. In many recessions, people lose their homes when they can't afford the mortgage payments. Young people can't get a good job after school. That throws off their entire career. Even if the recession is short, typically nine to 18 months, its impact can be long-lasting.

You don’t want to be blindsided by the size of a venue or a crowd right before you give a speech. By arriving before you’re scheduled to speak, you’ll have time to get used to your surroundings and, if you’re speaking from a stage, get a feel for the space. If you can, try introducing yourself to a few audience members. Having some allies in the crowd can only make things easier.

The United States is the world’s only superpower, dominating the world’s economic and political systems. With the strongest military and economy, the United States is capable of global power projection, giving it significant influence worldwide. Few countries dare to oppose America’s political agenda.

Effectively promoting gender equality also requires recognizing that women are diverse in the roles they play, as well as in age, social status, geographic location and educational attainment. The fabric of their lives and the choices available to them vary widely.
6  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your opinion on recreational drug use on: February 10, 2018, 04:58:00 PM
Do what you want, but be careful. No one really knows if they are one of those people whose recreational use will turn into a problem--until it becomes a problem. I speak from experience.

I do not think it matters. Both sides should love without waiting for the money.
