1  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 275 BITMAIN ANTMINER S1 FOR SALE on: October 16, 2014, 12:23:32 AM
Nothing matters other than details...

- What power supply is included, power cord, pictures?
- Will you split the miners up, minimum order quantity?
- Price per unit with and without power supply?
- PCIe connectors or not?

Equipment is in Washington State by Seattle, I have DELL server PSU with all the cables you need to run it. I am looking to do bulk transactions, and yes this is 50TH worth.

The least I am willing to sell it at is, 10TH at a time.

3  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [interest check] Group funded Co-location in ohio 0.02-059/kwh & petahash farm on: August 19, 2014, 08:22:22 PM
The OP obviously has no idea what he's talking about.

The electrical work alone is going to cost more than 150k with transformers and breakers and wiring.
4  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] T1-BOX RockMiner production, small batch on: August 07, 2014, 05:48:45 PM
At these prices, S3 are clearly the SUPERIOR choice, in ROI and quantity. These consume 20% more power as well. They must lower prices to be competitive.

Does price comes with shipping included?

Yoshi at Bitmain is recommending Either Dell 750W Server PSU or the HP 1200W Server PSU, for the most economic solution. Your thoughts?
8  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Reward FOR answers] 50TH S1 Farm on: May 08, 2014, 11:29:23 PM
I read the dell Server PSU are the best.

To clarify, I have 400Amps, There's more than enough juice to run 100,000watts.

Is it hard to convert the 750W Dell PSU to run S1s?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=503423.0

You can buy just the breakout boards or the whole kit with everything. I have one of these and it works great.

Awesome, I will look into this.

At 2W/GH you realize how big your electricity bill will be right?

What is the cost kWh in the location you are settings up?

278 S1 Ants x 180GH x 2W = 100,080W

Standard home user rate of 15c kWh = 100kW x 24hrs x $0.15 = $360 per day or $10,800 per month.

Buying the 1W/GH S2 would probably pay for itself pretty quickly with half the power cost and it will be a lot easier to deal with half the heat.

This is really only a little hobby, and project for me. I have access to cheap power, 7.5c per kWh and a large warehouse. I figure since I have the space and capacity, the only thing left is cheaper PSU, any suggestions?

I have read about using the dell server PSU, but there seems to be a lot of work with getting them to work.
11  Bitcoin / Hardware / [Reward FOR answers] 50TH S1 Farm on: May 08, 2014, 10:28:31 PM
Hi Everyone,

I am setting up a 50TH S1 Farm

Those of you with experience on setting up larger S1 FARMS, are there anything I should be aware of?

I read that you can use server power supplies as they are cheaper, but it looks like there's quite a bit of work behind setting up the PSU for 278 machines.

What would be the most cost efficient PSU setup? What type of networking Issues should I be aware of? What is the most efficient set up? How would you deal with airflow and heat?

What is the best type of RACK to set up on?

I look forward to all your experiences, creative solutions, and help.

About Cognitive Capital LLC

We are a newly founded company wanting to open up the Bitcoin mining market to a wider public. This is our first partnership and only the first of many offers to come. In the near future we will offer 1 GH/s mining contracts. We're aiming to price these consistently under the cex.io prices.

For now this offer will run until the units run out. For those who are in New York, we warmly invite you to come talk to us or check out our live Terraminer IV

Any questions are welcome.

I think it is great that you have it in stock and ready to ship next day. However, at the current difficulty and bitcoin pricing, no one can ever break even on these miners. This is a time for people to buy the coins rather than to mine the coins. It will be a bear market for the next 3 months, then it'll explode again.

14  Economy / Speculation / THE REAL FUTURE OF BITCOIN on: April 10, 2014, 02:55:13 AM
Based on life experience, and logic, here is my prediction.

Bitcoin will eventually go to the moon, the big question is when. That I don't know. But I do know that it will happen within the next few years.

Why?

1. It has already been ruled that it is considered property. It is a recognized asset in the US.
2. ETFs are being formed and will be ready for Wall Street investors by the end of this year.
3. Have you ever seen Bitcoin billboards when driving around the highway? I have, people do take notice of these things.
4. Stanford Business School, the TOP Business School in America, has a professor as a board member. These Ivy League schools has huge influences.
5. Infrastructure is being set up, and a real eco-system will be in place by the end of this year.
6. If 10% of the America population, 30 million people, invested 100 bucks, that would be 3 Billion dollars into the market, that would drive the price WAY OVER the ATH, probably close to 10,000 each.
7. Google is going to integrate this with google wallet.
8. Ebay has recognized it by creating a category just for Bitcoins and other crypto currency
9. Paypal is working on integrating bitcoins into their system.
10. Developing countries TRUST bitcoins more than their own currencies.

Feel free to add to this list. It goes on forever, it goes to show that Bitcoin has a bright future. Anyone spreading negativity about it and saying it is dead in the near future has no idea what they are talking about. And if they can give a GOOD answer to this question they might convince me otherwise.

When was the last time, a technology, has caught the attention of all the governments in the world at the same time, that is not owned by any 1 party, and what is this? And how did it do?

15  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: EMPBitcoin 2TH/s Miner - Escrow Only [No Preorder] on: April 05, 2014, 04:34:11 AM
People,

Lets all be a little more positive. Lets give new companies a fleeting chance to make it within the community before we destroy their reputation without any real proof. The OP probably has everything ready but didn't want to release the information YET for what ever reason.

What they are offering along with the security they are offering sounds legit enough. If you don't like the fact that there are no pictures, then don't order, there's no need for negativity.

Good day all, and bitcoins for the future.

18  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 3 release countdown on: March 20, 2014, 12:45:14 AM

He is on paper but he's not responded to the teams emails in months and months. As I said, the only people left (and running this company now) are the engineers, with little money. Yifu ran off to to work with the government about anonymity and took the millions with him.

He is the founder but he isn't the only owner.

Do you have some insider information?  You are the OP and seemed to have some vested interested in this?

I am not so sure Yifu not responding to emails is really proof that he is no longer associated with Avalon.  It wasn't that long ago when he seemed to disappear from the face of this earth and not responding to any IM, email, forum posts for months while everybody is waiting for the B3 chips/miners.  He was associated with Avalon at that time, No?  So what's so different now when you don't see or hear from him?  If anything else, it is typical Yifu behavior.  It doesn't prove that he is not associated with Avalon and making money off new Avalon chips that I hope nobody is buying when there are so many more options available now.

When I set out the conditions for promotion or demotion for companies in my manufacturer trustworthiness thread (see sig), I tell them. I tell them exactly what the community (as an average) feels about them, on going problems, what is required for the problem to be solved. In the case of Avalon it was the trade ins (never sorted) and the bad performance on B3. They can't solve B3 now, it happened.

The other part of it was that Yifu was the figurehead/scapegoat/ringleader, whatever you want to refer to him as. But he's not there any more, he took large amounts of money (or the control of money) yet the engineers left behind are getting HIS flak.

IIRC Yifu went AFK between B2 and B3 because he was just about starting this government work and he never checked the forums. Have a look at his profile on here, he's not been around for months and months and months.

Lets all take a freaking moment and think about why he should even fix any of your problems. You guys go on and on, whining about how he "fucked you over" on purpose, and never said anything grateful because you're all greedy bastards who can only think of yourselves and not what people have done for the community. If he really wanted to screw his customers over he would just take all the money and never refund anything. He has REFUNDED TONS of people, in BTC while the BTC increased in value! I think he did what he can to do good for his customers and the community. 1 Year ago you would all be sucking his C**K for a miner, and now all you can do is talk crap. Show some gratitude and maybe something awesome will happen. Ya B*tches.
19  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 3 release countdown on: March 18, 2014, 08:31:03 PM
dogie, if yifu (piece of crap) did bail on avalon and left only the engineers to run it.
close avalon down. avalon/yifu (peice of crap) have a bad taste in people's mouth (except those who ordered batch 1)

have those engineers do some rebranding, don't associate with yifu at all and then i'll have some sympathy.
noone should be giving a company any money where a piece of crap person will be able to get any of it.
yifu fucked people over on purpose. stop defending that scammer. he deserves huge lawsuits to bankrupt him.

On Yifu's defense, He did offer a FULL REFUND to everyone who ordered Avalon Chips. At that time each 782BTC order was worth atleast 100k. If he really was a scammer he would've kept that but he didn't, you need to watch what you say and flame somewhere else.
