Is there any reward for running a relay or a hub?
Only dignity and honor.

I would run a node, but I stuck at the point where I have to install nginx and a valid (not self signed) Zertificate.
Which functions will not work without these two points?

thanks for 1.1.0 and a feature request:

I like to keep my cryptocoin data directories on an encrypted drive, so it would be nice if byteball was flexible in where it puts it's data directory.
A start paramater like bitcoin's -datadir=... would be just fine for a start.

same here.
I vote this up  Wink

Okay a serious question:  What's the best way to backup wallet?  I wrote down restore phrase and wrote down encryption key.  Do I need to backup anything else?  I couldn't find a wallet.dat in application support (mac)

FYI

Byteball Backups and Recovery

Byteball uses a single extended private key for all wallets, BIP44 is used for wallet address derivation. There is a BIP39 mnemonic for backing up the wallet key, but it is not enough. Private payments and co-signers of multisig wallets are stored only in the app's data directory, which you have to back up manually:

macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/byteball
Linux: ~/.config/byteball
Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\byteball

Is this data encrypted?  I'm about to store on secure cloud account.

No, You should ZIP/RAR the files with a strong Password.

You do realize that coins who lick asses and pay to get listed are usually the useless ones, right?
Let them work on the tech and on the business, exchanges will come in due time.

This ain't a p&d shitcoin, if you are here for the quick buck you prolly picked the wrong project.

Smiley very good. It's done when it's done.

Just for Information: The installer of the win64 0.7.1 version tells you that are going to install 0.7.0 but at the end you got 0.7.1
https://github.com/byteball/byteball/releases/tag/v0.7.1

Will there be an option to install it portable?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: July 07, 2016, 01:58:40 PM
Yes thats an Idea. But I thing that the code should be independent from other currencys.
The Fees are used to finance the nodes. Is it possible that the fees are periodicle adjusted by the avarage of "transactions per day"?

I wouldnt worry about the fees, its quite obvious they will have to decrease them, they often adjust the fees with BTC also for this very reason.

There may be some way to dynamically change the fees automatically if the value increases, but we still have to somehow calculate the fees based on the USD or some other fiat value, otherwise we would have nothing as a reference.

The idea is when the maximum marketcap is reached, you would not have to worry about this, or at least they would not need frequent adjusting. Smiley

for different transfers it is necessary to use different address or can be received several transfers in one address?

You can receive several transfers. But no more transfers should come after you spend iotas from that address.

What will happen if someone uses an address which sent already IOTAS?

Does the value of Assets in an account count toward the snapshot or just the amount of free Nxt in the account balance?

No, value in assets does not count, only balance of NXT in account.

What is about the supernet Asset. A lot of users thought that the Supernet Asset was build to support the newest Ideas of NXT.
Now, the biggest and newest Idea is presented and Supernet wouldn't be mentioned. Or did i miss something?

New website, blog, GUI and launch date will come this week. I will also hopefully get time to make that infographic about the supply of IOTA.

It really should be no problem. We use the SI unit system, which is used universally in science. Everyone is already familiar with megabyte, gigabyte and terabyte, the last 'petabyte' is a bit exotic, but it's only the total number, so should not be hard for people to grasp.

How do you calculate ?
For example:

like a human
1Mi = 1.000.000 Iotas

or like a machine

1Mi = 1024 Ki = 1024 x 1024iotas  = 1.048.567 iotas ?

I thought Iota is Ternary and not Binari. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ternary_numeral_system).
There must be an equivalent. Smiley

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA Crowdsale on: January 20, 2016, 01:20:42 PM
They spent so little money that it didn't provide them any iota ?
no, they invested no money at all, they only spent 1 Nxt to tell the devs where to send their zero iotas...
to be fair, maybe they just sent the message from the wrong address, happened to me to in the btc claiming process

edit: him for example: https://nxtportal.org/accounts/15144525595203487097

Mee too. The BTC Client used the wrong one.
I tried it today a second time...

will it be possible that other manufacturer than JINN can use IOTA ?
Or will IOTA only success if JINN success?

What do you guys think would be a good value statement for NEM?

Right now we have that one "NEM is a movement which aims to create a new economy based on the principles of decentralization, financial freedom, and equality of opportunity," and while this isn't wrong, it is also kind of a statement that speaks for blockchains in general, not to us specifically.

Ethereum has smart contracts.
Bitshares is for trading.
Bitcoin is a good coin.
Ripple is connecting banks.
Doge is fun.
Dash gives you fast anon transactions.

I'd like to really find our value statement and focus that in marketing. For me right now it is a chain that will just work.  Or maybe "the blockchain to do more."

One thing I know is that we have a slew of new tech that focuses on both the security of the user and the chain, as well as having easy to build on APIs.  On top of that NEM is super light and fast and easy to use (or will be shortly). Just not sure how to say that.

I suggest first building the NEM platform and then you have all of the above mentioned + more.

aggree

nothing less than

"one chain to rule it all"

should be the slogan
(copy of LOTR - one ring to rule them all)

or

"NEM connecting blockchains"

(a copy of - NOKIA connecting people")

u should not reduce NEM to be someting other
we should be that all and more

so maybe thats a good slogan

"all Blockchain can offer and more"

Nem is for People

(for the average Joe, for your all day paying, ...)

The IOs Gui Looks very good.
And the possibility to change the NIS Server by the user
is a good Idea. Smiley
