*IF* John Carley exists at all. Imagine he doesn't for a second. All victims trying to find a non existent person that was just set in place to take the blame while the real head(s) are laughing at the crowd hunting a phantom.

I have both Thomas Opperman and Michael Brandenburg on skype personally, and have spoken to them via these accounts Smiley

You mean the skype address that is listed in his Xing account is the same that you used talking to him over skype?
3  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitcoin-trader.biz on: October 07, 2014, 05:19:39 PM
Bitcoin Trader is no longer processing cash outs, People who speak out about it in the group are being banned on the spot... Me being one of them, I figure I will start leaving what interesting things I have found out about their company over my time invested with them...

Michael Brandenburg Skype: cryptoheaven

German "linkdin style" profile: https://www.xing.com/profile/Michael_Brandenburg2

Hi Panther,

how can you be sure it is him - imagine if it's not him, BT disappears and all the investors run for that guy - I would not want to be him then ...  Cheesy

So seriously: How do you know the guy behind the Xing-Profile is him?

4  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PBmining - legit? on: July 16, 2014, 04:41:57 AM
Hello,

I broke even last week and was able to sell my account with 1.076 GH/s for 3 BTC. So over a time of close to 4 months, I made a profit of around 40 per cent (30 per cent increase in number of BTCs, 10 per cent BTC going up during that time).

Now I am done with it. Still not sure whether they are legit or not, but I do not care anymore. For me it worked just fine and all the nay-sayers were wrong. Period.
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Poll : do you trust an exchange to hold your bitcoins ? on: July 14, 2014, 08:30:49 AM
Hello,

I used bitcoin.de and I would trust them watching over my 10 months old daughter. I don't think I need to say more.

6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should trading bots be banned? on: July 14, 2014, 08:27:49 AM
Another regulation? Really?

Bitcoin was invented because we have too much regulation, not too little. If someone writes a bot, let him do so. I see no reason why this should be regulated/banned at all.
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Virgin BTC on: July 14, 2014, 08:26:16 AM
Why would I pay a premium?

The only theoretical advantage would be that you can be sure that those bitcoins have not been used illegally or come from hacked accounts. But I do not see the point still.

We are probably dealing with Dollars and Euros that slip through our hands that have not only been used to by milk and sugar but also that have paid drugs, weapons and maybe even a murderer.
8  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where should i invest my bitcoins ? Wanna daily income on: July 14, 2014, 08:21:19 AM
Hello,

if you are looking for a daily income and don't want to trade yourself, finding a business is a very difficult task. There are - among others - two things you could do:

1. Mining

There are many mining pools out there. My advice on all them: Don't. Mining - in my view - is not an attractive investment anymore. The price per GH/s is simply too high with most of the sites out there. What's worse: You will never know how difficulty changes. With so many orders on new mining gear that could hit the consumer, the overall hashing power might increase big time making mining even more difficult.

Trading

There are websites out there that do the trading for you and will pay out the gains on a daily level. There has been much talking about one particular website lately that I personally have tried as well. bitcoin-trader.biz (there is my ref link in the link)

They do mining and trading. Forget about the mining (because of the reasons already stated). Their trading option is worth a look, though, if you are confident that they are legit. And this is the question with many, many, many, many Bitoin related web offers. In case of BT we don't know.

What we do know:

1. Your initial investment that they use to trade, will be blocked for 120 days. During those four months you will get a daily (Monday to Friday) payout that you can cash out or reinvest. After 120 days you will get your principal back.

2. They exist since November 2013 and so far have been paying all their investors. Unfortunately, this is no proof that they are legit. There is chance that they are paying their old investors with the money paid by new ones. We simply don't know.

3. If they are legit, then their offer is fantastic as they pay out around 0,8 percent at the moment. They do this with arbitrage trading, a method where you exploit different prices of Bitcoin on different market places to your advantage.

BT sells shares at 20 USD per piece so you could start with little money. Personally, I invested significantly more. Still, it's part of my previous gains I achieved with Bitcoin so it does not hurt as much if BT runs away. But I don't think that this will happen.

I hope that helped - good luck with your investment

9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will apply for a Guinness record on: July 12, 2014, 10:42:59 AM
I am not sure if that is a) a great idea or b) will do anything to the perception of Bitcoin.

Yes, back in the 80ies, a Guinness world record was kind of a cool thing. But in our days … I think it won't do anything. Doesn't hurt, though, either.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin now is like MP3s were in 1995.. on: July 12, 2014, 10:41:04 AM
That's a nice comparison. I first thought: Hang on! In 1995 I already downloaded tons of songs from Napster. Then I realised that was 1999.

Yes, in 1995 basically nobody knew of MP3 although it had been developed since the early 80ies(! can you believe it?).

If Bitcoin had the same effect on monetary systems as MP3 had on the music market then it truly would be a bit of fresh air to say the least.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has officially become the one world currency on: July 11, 2014, 01:41:42 PM
Unfortunately, BTC is far away of being a currency at all. It is used (as I wrote in a different thread already) much more like a commodity which is no good as a currency and a commodity have completely different purposes.

My only hope is that - despite the volatility in the market - shops, sellers and businesses will accept BTC on a wider and broader base over time. When that happens, BTC will go away form being used as a commodity and will be more used as a currency.

But that will take time. A few years at least (unless a real big player like Apple, Google, Paypal - you get the idea - would introduce it in their business model. I would live to pay my adwords with bitcoin!)
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have officially made it into the 100 Bitcoin club on: July 11, 2014, 01:37:52 PM
Does that mean that you hold NOW 100 BTC or that you have received 100 BTC over time?

Sorry for the stupid question, I am not good at reading blockchain data. I never got interested in this that much.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why use bitcoins when my dollars are working just fine for me? on: July 11, 2014, 01:35:28 PM
Why can't it be both a commodity and a currency? People are obviously using and spending bitcoin as the companies that are accepting it are reporting quite large sales in it. Granted I'm sure most people are saving their coins but there's plenty of people who are buying and selling using them and that will only grow.

I think it can not be both because a currency and a commodity serve different purposes in which each of them is better then the other. A currency is good at buying stuff. It's durable, exchangable and so forth (see theory of money for more information on the difference between sound money and currencies, btw).

But: With more and more (hopefully) shops and businesses accepting bitcoin, it will mature more and more into a currency and move further and further away of being used as a commodity. But this will take a few years, I would say. (it took gold and silver a few thousand years, then fiat currency came along ... ;( )

...and the Bears march in?
$2000 is a low estimate, once the market gets moving again.
Before year end, we have a real shot at $3,400+ and then the true crazies will be predicting $9K to $10,000 before Christmas.  Smiley

LOL! If that happens, I buy you a beer!
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do Bitcoin enthusiasts use IRC? and why? on: July 11, 2014, 01:26:58 PM
I can only speak for myself, but I was never a big fan of IRC. TO be honest I never saw the advantage of those chat-rooms?

Chat rooms where fun when we had still 1200 baud modems but today? I really don't see the point of it.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are girls using Bitcoins? on: July 11, 2014, 01:25:02 PM
That's an easy question to answer: There are as many girls using BTC as there are female server administrators as BTC and server administration is seen equally complicated to the main street girl (and guy).

It is a shame that we have so many market places and casinos and stuff but no website that helps making BTC accessible to the mainstream folks that close their ears when they hear "Altcoin" and "Cryptocoin" and "Hashrate" and "Blockchain" and all that things.

What this world needs, is a user oriented website that makes getting and spending BTCs as easy as 1,2,3.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why use bitcoins when my dollars are working just fine for me? on: July 11, 2014, 01:21:22 PM
Thanks so much for asking that question which adresses the major issue with bitcoin despite all its great advantages:

Hardly anybody uses BTC to buy stuff. Instead it is mostly used to trade ie. to make a profit. But that's not what a currency is good for, not to speak about real money.

People use BTC not like money, they use it as a commodity. As long as this behavior does not change, BTC won't mature into a proper currency.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How BTCU.biz launched 4000 Bitcoin ATMs in Ukraine on: July 11, 2014, 01:15:39 PM
I think the story is missing a major point: What is the fee of those ATMs?
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price 'to hit $2000' by end of the year | ThecTelegraph | #bitcoinprice on: July 11, 2014, 01:14:23 PM
Sorry, but this is so far fetched ... So this guy has the guts to predict a 200-250 per cent increase in the value of BTC. 'cmon, guys - how can he be serious about such a call. These guys are as big of a damage to the reputation of BTC as the ones trying to discredit it.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EBA: Investors should avoid Bitcoin, identifies 70 risks on: July 11, 2014, 01:11:15 PM
OF COURSE, they say BS like that. A currency beyond bank's control is their worst enemy. They will not succeed in "writing it down". To me, statements like this only show their fear of losing control over currencies.
