701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase CEO Says SEC Told It To Delist Everything But Bitcoin: Report on: August 02, 2023, 06:43:22 PM
I don’t see a problem here. We all know bitcoin is the only crypto that matters in the long run. Even eth and the others will die off in the future but btc will keep going. The SEC is actually giving a wise advice to Coinbase and the baldy CEO of Coinbase should listen to it.

I am pretty sure Coinbase used to be a btc/usd only exchange and if they could do it in the past, they can do it now. The regulators will be happy, the bitcoiners will be  happy, the baldy will get to keep his business… win win win for everyone (everyone but shitcoiners)
702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Much Bitcoin Does MicroStrategy Own In 2023? on: August 02, 2023, 10:57:03 AM
Over 150k? Wtf? The company has almost $5 billion in btc, that’s a very big number. Hopefully they won’t sell this in the short term and hold them for long long years so they can make great profits in the future. Imagine how much money they will make when bitcoin goes above $100k, that is more than $10 billion in profits. (As far as I know their entry price was around $30-35k) The good news is, small time holders like us will benefit from their holdings too. It is a win/win situation for everybody.
703  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian ruble is scam on: August 01, 2023, 03:52:49 AM
Russian Ruble is a scam just like the USD. Back in the 70’s USD defaulted too when they removed the USD from the gold standard. Right now every FIAT currency is a scam because nothing is backing them. The central banks can create FIAT out of thin air unlike gold which you need to work hard to get it from the ground. Don’t be so hopeless though, every FIAT currency in history failed and that means any FIAT currency in existence right now will also fail.
704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does cryptocurrency actually solve any problems? on: July 31, 2023, 08:08:46 AM
Been asked a couple of times, what problems does cryptocurrency solve, and what’s its unique value proposition compared to other cryptocurrencies or traditional financial systems.  Would love any other users take on this ..

Yes it does solve lots of problems. First of all, you can sell and buy (mostly) digital products with crypto. You don't need to use credit cards... That's important because maybe you are going to buy a pronhub subscription and you don't want the banksters to know about your sex life. You can do this with crypto and still stay anonymous. This is probably the best feature of crypto, privacy. It is like cash, but digital and anonymous like cash too.
705  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian oil and UK on: July 31, 2023, 04:17:53 AM
Why don’t the UK and EU use batteries and windmills? I thought oil and gas were bad especially when the seller is Russia… Buying and using oil (and from Russia!) is against the Western values. Some may even call this “treason”. The Europeans should eat vegetables and drive golf carts only. Meat and oil are for the undeveloped parts of the world.
706  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kucoin to introduce mandatory KYC on: July 30, 2023, 04:00:44 PM
Wow I just saw the news. Kucoin was probably the only fairly big and popular exchange that wasn't enforcing KYC on its users and now they are gone too. Nowhere to run or hide anymore, crypto exchanges became just like banks. They will know the identity of every customer they have and that'a against the fundamentals of crypto. Crypto means freedom and anonymity and these pro-KYC exchanges are not. People should learn to use decentralized exchanges like bisq asap. (don't waste your time on the pseudo/fake decentralized exchanges) R.I.P. Kucoin it was a good ride.
707  Economy / Economics / Re: Reason why you will never become rich on: July 30, 2023, 02:30:52 PM
Nonsense. You can definitely become rich. However doing it from zero to hero is pretty difficult. Family plays a very important role here. If you have a middle class family with kids less than 3, it is not impossible to get rich. You just need to play your cards right. If you get high grades and go to a fairly good college, start a business or have a good paying job (like being a doctor), you can become rich in less than 20 years. If you are lucky, you will have enough money to get retired in your 40's, if not you will work till your 50's. As you see age is an important aspect too. Being rich in your 20's and 30's is a lot more attractive than getting it in your 50's. You just have to start thinking about all that while you are very, very young.
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON is bad coin, here is why on: July 30, 2023, 11:15:37 AM
Maybe you know already: we have good coin and we have bad coin. While Bitcoin is very good coin, TRON is bad coin and here is why:

- TRON didn't achieve any additional technological advance compared to existing coin
- TRON is only launched because Justin Sun hates Vitalik Buterin and Ethereum
- Justin Sun failed to compete against Ethereum. Ethereum is much better, has much better technology and better developers
- Justin Sun just SHILLS his shitcoin TRON instead of implementing a better technology

Everyone should know, how fraudulent TRON really is.
Avoid bad coin like TRON.

None of these points you mentioned makes TRON a scam. I know at least one use case where TRON beats ETH and it is withdrawing USDT from binance. TRON has the lowest USDT withdrawal fees on binance where the other projects rip you off. I am not really a fan of TRON and I don't hold any but that doesn't mean it is completely shit. Some people like me benefit from TRON's low fees. If ETH wants to be the king again, Vitaliq should find a way to lower them network fees.
709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: July 30, 2023, 10:37:25 AM
People should do whatever they works for them. You shouldn’t lose your bets just because somebody else placed the same bets with you but there is a catch here… If sharing your bets affects you emotionally in a bad way, then it will make you place shitty bets and you will lose money because of it. Let’s just say maybe this player doesn’t want other people to be freeloaders. He spent time to do his research, why would he let anybody copy his bets? And maybe, when he shares his bets, this thoughts affect his betting process. So maybe he is actually doing the other guy a favor by not sharing his bets.
710  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are memecoins tarnishing the image of crypto? on: July 29, 2023, 10:14:48 AM
Every day, thousands of memecoins are launched, and unfortunately, around 95% of them turn out to be scams. This scam epidemic is affecting many people, especially newcomers who lack experience and are more vulnerable to such scams.

The issue arises when newbies join the crypto space and fall victim to these scammers, leading them to blame all of crypto as a scam. While some memecoins have indeed damaged the reputation of the crypto industry, others have achieved incredible success, with values skyrocketing by 100 or even 1000 times.

For beginners, it's advisable to steer clear of memecoins. However, if they still want to get involved, they should consider investing in memecoins listed on reputable exchanges, even if it means earning lower profits. One example I follow is Bitget's memezone, where memecoins may not be listed at the start of their project but get listed at an early stage. Unlike DEX, these platforms provides more security, reducing concerns about being unable to sell,or removal of LPs.

I think it is quite the opposite. Memecoins are actually making crypto even more famous among the youngsters and that's obviously not a good thing. Lots of young people started their crypto journey with dogecoin probably. If dogecoin didn't exist, these people would never know much about crypto. Don't focus on the prices too much, yes climbing prices are a part of this game but the network effect is far more important and dogecoin brought lots of people in. I think there are some good memecoins and the absolute best of them is obviously dogecoin and I don't have any problems investing in it.
711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Irresponsible behavior at the Las Vegas Casino on: July 29, 2023, 06:48:26 AM
A man run naked in a Las Vegas casino (Linq Casino) and jumped on the poker table and started to dance. He was arrested instantly by the security, however his family says that he was drunk and therefore he did such type of act.

More details can be read here Naked Gyrating Guy Arrested at Harrah’s Las Vegas Was Drugged, Family Claims

The point here is why gamblers do such shameless acts and what the rules of the casino suggest the penality for these acts. Do you think the gambler did it purposefully perhaps to become popular in the headlines  Huh

People should learn to behave. Your freedom ends where the other people's freedom starts. That means you simply can't disturb other people with your misbehaving. If you that, then you should be ready to meet the consequences and this man just did that. Arresting maybe a little bit too much though, they should probably just kick his ass out of the casino and be done with it. In the end dancing on a poker table is not really a crime. It would disturb people for sure but you shouldn't get a prison sentence for doing it.
712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Appropriate percentage of income for gambling on: July 29, 2023, 06:42:06 AM
It's the wrong mindset for me to take gambling just for fun.

I don't agree with that. Since gambling is not a business which you can create a streaming income from it in the long term, then gambling should only be an entertainment for the player. It is the casino's job to make money, not the players. Players should lose the money but get some entertainment while doing so. That's also the reason why I mostly prefer the real life casinos over the online casinos because there are lots of entertainment in those casinos. (free booze, good looking girls etc) Online casinos did a good job during the covid19 shutdowns though real life casinos will always be the king of entertainment.
713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Saylor ever sell? on: July 28, 2023, 05:33:10 PM
Who cares? If he don't sell it is for his own good. It is nobody else's business. If he sells, well it is his loss. The longer he holds his coins the richer he will become. Sometimes though we all want to spend our wealth on the physical stuff like cars, houses, chicks etc... Saylor is a human being too so I wouldn't be surprised if he sells his coins to purchase something big like a private jet for example. Otherwise, I don't see him ever selling his coins. He is now a believer.
714  Economy / Economics / Re: Federal Reserve launches FedNow instant payment service on: July 28, 2023, 05:18:40 AM
As long as they don't remove physical FIAT completely, this is a good move going forward. We all know that it is not going last forever though. Sooner or later they will make their move to remove FIAT from circulation and then this new CBDC network will become a digital prison. You can only escape it using bitcoin. Some people think CBDC's will make bitcoin obsolete. Actually it is completely the opposite. Bitcoin will become even more popular when people find out the bullshit they are being fed with FEDCOIN.
715  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is It Normal For A Site To Ask For Your Wallet Address? on: July 27, 2023, 07:46:27 PM
I'm not sure which category this question belongs to.
Many people say you should have a non-custodial wallet.
I did research and decided on Atomic Wallet.
I want to transfer funds from my Bank of America account into Atomic Wallet.
However, there are 7 different USDCoins.
So I used the Help feature and ask which of the 7 should I use?
I got an email back:
Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out.
We are here to help! But I need a little cooperation from your side, as we are a decentralized wallet and we don’t have any access to your private information.
In order for me to understand what happened, please provide the following info:
– Your coin addresses
Looking forward to your reply.

Is it normal for them to ask for my coin address?
I've read about all the scams going on. About how good hackers are.
And why do they need my coin address?

As long as you don't send them your private keys/seed words, they can't steal your coins from your public address. I don't think there will be any problems.

However, if they ask anything more "private", you should come to your senses pretty quickly and stop the conversation.

I agree with the users above, if you want to use a non-custodial wallet, use electrum. It is fast, works great and it is safe as long as you download it from the right source. >>> electrum.org

Just delete atomic wallet the moment you solved your problems with them.
716  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: walletgeneratordotnet scam Paper wallet generation scam on: July 27, 2023, 07:39:45 PM
Never ever use these 3rd party services that claim to generate "paper wallets". Paper wallet is nothing but a QR code printed on a piece of paper which has your private key. You can print or hand write your private key on a piece of paper yourself and it will instantly become a paper wallet. Or don't make it this complicated just write down your seed words. That's it.

To generate your seed words/priv keys, you should use a trusted wallet app like electrum/bitcoin core. I personally use electrum and never had a problem.
717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Bitcoins to never gamble again. Will you take it? on: July 27, 2023, 03:21:35 PM
I would take that deal without the slightest doubt. It is because I am a casual gambler already I have no problems with this. I can stop gambling for the rest of my life, no big deal. $150k is a very good amount and I can use this money to make other investments. Hopefully you don't consider making investments (like stocks or real estate) "gambling" because lots of people do. For $150k I could buy lots of apple stocks and it is the best company in the world. Or I could simply hold them coins because bitcoin itself is a great investment. There are many potential choices.
718  Economy / Economics / Re: Building a prosperous business on: July 27, 2023, 10:20:15 AM
I can tell you that owning your own business feels amazing. I know it because I own a business which prints money. It gets tiresome sometimes but at the end of the day nothing beats it when I pop a cold beer while counting my profits… Ok maybe having fun with girls in the middle of the ocean beats it but let’s just say this is the second best feeling a man can experience. Working for somebody else is a dead end. Always start your own if can.
719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just Another Good Source Of Motivation For You ... on: July 26, 2023, 07:23:53 PM
If you are still trying to find a good reason to buy some bitcoin, Well, over the night, I was watching some crypto related videos on YouTube, and while going through the comment section, I found this comment which really made a lot of sense to me, and I thought to share it here..

The dude, who ever he is said, "if he can spend a $100 to $200 dollars daily on food and drink, and wake up the next day to piss and shit it out without bothering whether there be profit or not, then not a bad idea to spend some of that money buying an asset that has the potentials of earning you some profit, no matter how small".
...

Enjoying food and drinks is a whole different concept than making an investment. You shouldn't limit your entertainment too much just to make investments imo. It is always OK to save money to buy bitcoin but living like a plant will harm you mentally in the long run. I would never advise this to any of my friends. If you are not going to enjoy a good meal and some drinks every once in a while, I can't call that "living". It is more like being a slave to me and I can't live like that. Nobody should because we are all people. Obviously that doesn't mean that we should spend all of our monthly income on booze. I don't mean that. There should be a balance.
720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin self-rating on: July 25, 2023, 07:03:41 PM
So the big question is,  how will you rate yourself since your involvement and interaction with Bitcoin and bitcoin talk as a community,  have you become more financially educated resulting in your consistency in building a financially free future by accumulating Bitcoin and spending less and investing more,  or have you become more Conservative in your approach taking Bitcoin as get a rich quick scheme that will always end you in frustration?

I probably learned everything I know about finance after I met bitcoin 10 years ago. It made me a better investor, a better businessman.

Thanks to btc I understood how the central banks are ripping us off by printing money out of thin air. I learned how the US is broke and China/Russia owns the world. I learned the importance of using hard money and that's bitcoin.

Still though, there is still a lot to learn. Bitcoin gave me a huge head-start but a scholar never stops to learn more.
