63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Protoshares - help on: December 05, 2013, 10:11:11 AM
Gents
I am running protoshares mining in PTSPool on my 5 computers, one of them constantly says "Share Found! - Invalid Share - Reason - Time-too old"
Why is that happening? Also - I am running miners with same parameters on all PC's, no separation for workers/accounts, is that correct?

And last one - PTSPool is OK but poor stats...which one you can recommend to try?

Thanks!

I've been mining PTS on ypool and it's going fine.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Alt coins NOT using Scrypt/Sha on: December 05, 2013, 09:51:17 AM
Hello,
I would like to know which coins are not using scrypt or sha algorithm. Is there a list of them ?
So far, I can only think of :
Protoshares, Quarkcoins, Primecoins, Datacoins

Has any other coin been using something different rather than just copying what's been done?
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mining alt coin on CPU on: December 04, 2013, 09:25:36 PM
Hmm okay thanks for your answers Smiley

I'm gonna try digitalcoins if I find a miner
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Mining alt coin on CPU on: December 04, 2013, 09:12:28 PM
Hello everyone,

I'm quite new to Mining and I would like to know what alt coin should I mine on a CPU ?
I have an i7 3930K
I'm looking for non sha/scrypt based coins because they're only good for GPU miners
So far the only good coins I've found are Quark and Protoshares which give me about $6-8 a day.
XPM is aimed for CPU but i'm getting really low rewards at 18k primepersec

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance ! Wink

Curecoins / Gridcoins, basically coins that have a use for humanity.
They just have no reason to fail, especially when they're run by huge university like stanford

69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: December 03, 2013, 12:58:55 PM

However, regarding the projects..for CPU mining you need to be registered and have BOINC running at least one of the projects that are listed in "BOINC Projects" in your wallet. Do following:
1. Choose a project from "BOINC Projects" add it to your BOINC manager and set its username on the project website to your GRC receiving address.
2. In your Wallet set that same receiving addresses name to "Default".
3. Go to "BOINC Projects" in your wallet, find the project you added and fill in your "User ID" that can be found in your account settings on that projects website. Press save. After a while if you press "Query Credits" it will change to show the actual number of avg. daily credits you did for that project.

Now you should be CPU mining. The last thing that you need to wait for is sending a beacon.. As Rob said, 1-2 times a day a small payment will be automatically sent from your wallet(~0.05GRC) and after that has been sent and recognized by the GPU miners(~15-20mins) you will now be recognized by the system..If you go to the "Debug Console" and write "listcpuminers" you should now be listed.(look for your address).

Hope this helps.
Andrew.

I registered to projects on Boincstats to have only one account for multiple projects, where do I find the "User ID" to add in the wallet "BOINC Projects" tab ?

Guys

Today few of qrk.coinmine.pl miners found an exploit to cash out more coins that they actually mined and hot wallet was completely dry out. This exploit was possible because of site upgrade I was doing and its not related to pool software.

I know this was kind of my fault but I am kindly asking honest users to give back Quarks to this address: QY9f1fRFMv3xJha9XH637k2Yey1WSkvGBA

Will appreciate your cooperation.

feeleep

I should have received a 100 QRK auto-payout today which does appear in the website in transaction list, it is marked as "Confirmed", but my wallet is still empty, and the 100 qrk are gone from my pool account. What should I do?
did you ever get your quarks???  what pool??? -digeros

No, I never got my quarks from qrk.coinmine.pl

whats your account name on pool?

Account name on pool is the same, INSeed, do you need the transaction numbeR?

Thanks

I don't think it's worth investing in ASICs with the current difficulty, the best would be to be the first with an Asic in alt coins where there's more and more cash to be made Smiley

76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scrypt Pool mining with multiple GPUs Best Practices on: December 02, 2013, 10:25:58 PM
I've been mining in a scrypt pool for about a month now with a single GPU.

Soon I make the leap to a multi GPU/ multi computer set up. The new cards are coming this week.

Should I use separate wallets for each miner, or would it be OK to point them all to the same wallet?

Is there anything else I should keep in mind as I make this transition?

One wallet, two miners in the pool Smiley

In about a month, it's gonna stabilize at $1k for a while and then skyjump to 2-3k$ :p
Just my opinion  Smiley

Is the Litecoin perfect than Bitcoin? I means it can be mined with CPU!
GPU miners have moved to LTC Already if that's what you're asking
