5  Other / Beginners & Help / Mining Quark coins question about computer speed. on: December 05, 2013, 07:30:58 AM
So i just have a regular laptop 2.10 GHZ, 8 gig ram (is this fine for mining?) and want to mine Quark coins (as my computer speed sucks for mining bitcoins right?)

As per this thread

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260031.msg2948566#msg2948566

ive downloaded the miner here

https://github.com/Neisklar/quarkcoin-cpuminer

But i get the error msg 'json_rpc_call failed retry after 30 seconds' and it waits 30 seconds then retries then fails again.

Any help appreciated.

What about this guy

Some other people started a thread about him and were trying to start a class action lawsuit.

10  Other / Beginners & Help / Cryptocurrency companies that can buy shares in? on: December 04, 2013, 01:38:00 AM
Ok so after browsing these forums for a bit i dont feel comfortable buying bitcoins right now ( i dont know enough about computers/how to set up a safe security etc) because it seems like a lot of people are getting coins stolen even when using the recommended security. Was thinking of buying shares in a new company to do with cryptocurrency, does anyone know any? On ASX (Australian stock exchange) nothing comes up when you type in 'cryptocurrency'...

Sorry to hear that, your post makes me realise the importance of security and how i am not yet ready to buy bitcoins (need to learn more first). So you had a password generator for the site you were trading on and they still figured that out somehow?

1) I think the One World Currency (prophesy) could very well be a cryptocurrency. No. I do not feel bad about profiting from it.

16  Other / Beginners & Help / Vault of Satoshi on: December 03, 2013, 08:08:28 AM
Hi all newbie here, so what do you guys think of vault of satoshi (VOS) for trading coins on? Looks easy enough to get money in (go to bank with wire transfer address and wire transfer it) how about getting money out? Any other recommended sites? Just reading about passwords/wallets/safety etc now WTF!!! so much information to learn...
