1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia accounts being cracked on: March 24, 2018, 03:02:19 PM
Yeah even i received many login attempts from the past few days , my account even got locked but i really don't care cryptopia seems to me as one of the worst exchange with the worst design every possible and shit support

Hey @OmegaStarScream

I am glad to see I am not the only one. I got the same, maybe a week ago (just 1 attempt) Nothing to worry in my case. Are you using the same address on this exchange with your bitcointalk account (before the forum get compromised)? I believe some people with the database are simply trying to with the most popular exchanges in case someone used the same password

Yes this might be the reason but if you have 2FA i don't think you should worry or just change your password as you might have the same password on the exchange which you used for your bitcointalk account
2  Economy / Services / Re: ***Questions/Answers for MERIT! - (ask questions & merit the best answer)*** on: March 22, 2018, 02:19:35 PM
Q) I held a few bitcoins from September 2016 to April 2017 in an address which is empty now (unfortunately, I cashed them all out at rate of $800 or something). However, I was just wondering if there has been any airdrop or fork within that time period which I can extract now? I of course still carry the public/private keys. I see Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold came out afterwords, so they don't exist as balances in my those addresses, and I was just wondering if there has been some other similar fork/airdrop as well which I can cash out now.

+1 merit for the one who can help.

Nope as far as i remember the first ever airdrop occurred was on 01-08-2017 which was bitcoin cash
If you want you can check this thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2836875.msg29086309#msg29086309 he can help you with this one
3  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Poloniex is kidding me on: March 22, 2018, 02:01:56 PM
Poloniex has turned into a scam , it use to work perfectly in September i never faced any issues but since October many people have been reporting deposit issues , account blocked , funds blocked issues. Sending support ticket isn't going to do any good as you said 3 months have already past

There isn't any solution but as circle recently purchased poloniex for a huge sum of $400 million+ i would suggest you to send another support ticket and avoid using poloniex plus you made a mistake by telling them you opened a scam accusation as there are already several accusation your issues will most likely not be solved
4  Other / Meta / Re: Is this a drawback? ChipMixer!! on: March 21, 2018, 09:58:51 PM
there is barely anyone who receives merits for his reply to a discussion which isn't in the meta section
I disagree. I have received and sent many (s)Merits outside of Meta.
[/quote]

This is the reason you are not included in the list i have seen you merit stats and they are from various sources i got no problem for you

Didn't quote the post about you saying this has nothing to do with chipmixer well actually it does , every weel i see people posting with pride that they will receive the most merit next week but in reality the merit they receive isn't because of there posts but due to the above reasons
5  Other / Meta / Re: Is this a drawback? ChipMixer!! on: March 21, 2018, 09:43:31 PM
For the sake of decentralization of merit distribution, this doesn't look good.

..but if you all notice the merits most people in chipmixer campaign have received is either exchanged between them or..
Especially if this is true. I'm saying 'if' because I have not verified this claim.

Again i don't want this to be taken to another merit farming thread if you want i can easily find out users exchanging between themselves and i did mention such activity in the main post above you can go through it.

or they have received from posting in meta
That is not an issue.

The reason why i considered this as a issue is because this is the current reality posting in meta is the only way people are actually able to gain any merit.
6  Other / Meta / Re: Is this a drawback? ChipMixer!! on: March 21, 2018, 09:29:45 PM
Yah, so I'm failing to see your point here--I post a lot in meta because I find the goings-on of the forum quite interesting, not because I'm seeking merit points.  I don't need merits, because I can't rank up any more than I have.

I've also said this multiple times, but I'll reiterate it here:  I'm fairly ignorant about how bitcoin works.  I don't know much about the math behind crypto, so that leaves me ignorant about a lot of things in many sections of bitcointalk.  I also am not a trader, and I don't gamble so I don't post in threads dealing with those things.

In fact, the reason I joined this forum in the first place was more for the social interaction than anything else (though I do use and support bitcoin).  So naturally the sections I post in are Meta, Reputation, Scam Accusations, and one or two others exclusively.

Bitcoin Discussion and Economics are shitposter-magnet sections anyway, and anything I write there isn't going to get read anyway.  I'm not posting in Meta for any purpose other than the interaction with members who also post there frequently.  I'll repeat it:  It's not for merits.

Also, look at the merits I've left for other users.  Yes, some of them have been to other Chipmixer members, but I'd say the vast majority are NOT.  Nor am I sending merits to anyone to boost DarkStar_'s weekly statistics about how awesome the Chipmixer people are (which is true).

Hope that clears things up about me at least.
Don't get me wrong the whole idea of why i made this posts is more about receiving merits i have no issues with you or any member sending merits i just wanted to show the drawback of merit system.
7  Other / Meta / Is this a drawback? ChipMixer!! on: March 21, 2018, 08:30:03 PM
Now before many of you jump to conclusions firstly i would like to say that this is a post related to merit system but it is different from other posts (Hopefully)
Now i'm not sure weather to call this is a drawback but it exists

I have quoted few posts below i'm not targeting anyone but i just want a sort of awareness

Stats for this week:

Average: 60.89 (11.95% increase from last week)
Median: 43 (4.88% increase from last week)
Total: 3471 (10.02% increase from last week)

This campaign now represents 3.26% (2.19% increase from last week) of all merits given on the forum. (3471/106434)

I noticed that every week while making payments darkstar posts this message regarding the merit stats but if you all notice the merits most people in chipmixer campaign have received is either exchanged between them or they have received from posting in meta

Let's ignore the first part of the above line and concentrate on the bold part
I have also noticed in order to earn merit without posting in those merit giveaway thread or farming from alt account the only way possible is by posting in meta as that's literally the only place where someone can receive merit , there is barely anyone who receives merits for his reply to a discussion which isn't in the meta section

Here's a example of TryNinja a user enrolled in chipmixer campaign

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=557798 - If you notice 80% of the merits he received on posts is from the meta section

Here's another example take a look at Pharmacist merits - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=487418 most are from meta

If not from meta another easy way of getting merits is by starting a merit giveaway thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2968050.msg30499459#msg30499459

I only found HeRetik who actually received merit from his contribution https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=99837

Again i'm not attacking users enrolled in chipmixer they all have constructive posts this is just to create a awareness of how exactly the merit system is working , i'm sure there are many more people who receive merits from posting in meta but i specifically stuck to chipmixer

9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Woah will this ever happen? Twitter banning crypto? on: March 21, 2018, 05:22:20 PM
https://money.usnews.com/investing/stock-market-news/articles/2018-03-20/twitter-inc-twtr-stock-cryptocurrency

This is just a speculation made from the above link

According to me if this ever happens that year will be the last functioning year for twitter , if we see most ico currently don't have any place left where they can advertise theymos has banned ico ads , facebook , google and now even snapchat only Bing is there search engine which permits this but the exposure is nothing compared to the sites which have banned

What do you guys feel is this the move of major companies against ico , will ico die after they have no place left for advertising ?
Do you think twitter will be able to survive after this move as crypto surely places a important role in twitter from major announcements to stupid pumps by McAfee

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Snapchat Confirms It’s Banned ICO Ads on: March 21, 2018, 05:04:51 PM
Previously Facebook banned crypto ads, Google decided to do so in this upcoming June. Now some like fud news circulating that twitter will ban its crypto and related content ads too. And recently like minutes ago Snapchat banned ICO ads in its platform, unlike the said platforms snapchat only banned ICO which is also a good choice. But can somebody tell me if no one cares about this ban?  Cheesy I don't even use snapchat like for real.

Sources:

https://cheddar.com/videos/snapchat-bans-cryptocurrency-ico-ads/
Hmm all this is weird all of a sudden all major social media sites have decided to ban to anything related to crypto looks like they are earning enough money nowadays but i'm 100% sure in the future they will not only allow crypto related ads but also accept cryptocurrencies so that users can purchase their stupid filters or whatever they call it that shit

Let's save the above for future  Tongue
ICO aren't good nowadays i have gained only losses from most of my investments made during November it's a good news so that newbies don't end up wasting their money on most of the shit ico.

Snapchat is shit don't even know why people use that shit.  Cheesy

11  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: the most profitable coin if invested? on: February 01, 2018, 02:50:15 PM
With current state of market buying anything can result upto 50% of profit when it starts recovering.
Firstly check out ada the current price is $0.42 and 2 days ago the price was $0.65 means the coin has the potential it's only low because of the current market state i would surely recommend to invest in it.
Second is xem this has risk involved because there is a chance the hackers might withdraw their xem which can cause a panic, if you looking for short term profit avoid it.
Lastly xlm this coin is the major competitor to xlm and xrp has gone to $2 and so is xlm base price was $0.6 for such a long time , either go with ada or this.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Rate my portfolio on: January 31, 2018, 10:02:37 AM
It isn't bad at all i do see you going kind of all in xlm which isn't a bad decision at all but i would suggest to further reduce waves from your portfolio i feel the hype it had is over now and soon it will end up being dead , it did try to compete eth but failed and now i don't see any other reason for it's existence, instead purchase ada it's any day better.
