By only changing the block to halve at, you are also changing the max number of coins, going from 19.948.700 up to 20.474.396. You should then change the structure of the reward system and I don't think that changing the rules of the game now is a good idea. The reward is going to be acceptable now, it was the initial reward of 77 kdc that was completely insane. 1/3 of the coins were mined in less than 2 months. With the new reward system, the coin will be mined up to july 2024. Don't get me wrong, I don't deny the importance of a secure net hashrate but right now this coin is living on its investors, not on the profit miners. Will those guys turn off their mining rigs after the next halving? No, most of them won't as they are in for the long haul. On top of that, look on coinwarz, the net hashrate of the other coins. They are low as hell too. There are so many alt coins that can be under a 51% attack that the odds that kdc will be attacked are low. I don't say that there is no risk but it's reasonable atm. Why would someone 51% attack kdc for no profit when there are tons of other coins with a net hashrate of 15-30 MHash? It's easier to attack those coins.
There is actually a faction on these very forums that are actively targeting what they consider weaker coins and doing whatever they can to destroy those coins. The increase from 19.9million to 20.4million total coins is only about 3% when all is said and done so I don't think it will be a very big deal in the long run. However, if we lose half our net hash again (like we did during the last 2 halvings) it isn't going to take very much for someone to implement a 51% attack (around 10-25MH if we drop from the current 50-100MH we have been seeing the last week or so.) We really haven't seen any benefit at all from the last two reductions in rewards (I know a lot of factors play into this but we have been on a constant downward slope) so it doesn't seem prudent to me to continue on with the next one when our net hash is already very low. I think we can easily survive a 3% increase in total coins, however if someone were to 51% (even if tberes only a 1% chance this happens I still think its worth waiting on the next block reduction) attack us I don't see anyway we end up surviving look dude ..... There is 1 thing AND ONLY 1 thing that make hashrate increase ..... .. not community ..not belivers ... ..not investors ITS PRICE All of these tie in with the price, unless it's purely pump and dump.

Earlier I argued that Apple doesn't allow Bitcoin sending because they are preparing their own payment system and it would be a competition to them. But now I think the reason is security. If people had fat bitcoin wallets on their iPhones it would paint a giant red target on Apple's back. They don't want to be on the front page of newspapers with people complaining they lost $10K worth of bitcoins due to an iOS vulnerability. I never had the Blockchain app so I don't know, but did you have to log in every time you logged in? Also it would be cool if they implemented TouchID to keep your Bitcoins safe.

go read my posts ......
yes ... i turned off my rig to mine kdc ....
i mine most profitable - dump for kdc buys ....
that would push price up ... and attract more miners to kdc ... thats called using your brain
I was talking to jackdminer, not you kahir. In fact I'm for the coin going PoS and creating a pool that mines LTC and exchanges it to KDC. I would do the same way as you but I keep my mining rig pointed to KDC to secure the net hashrate. +1 PoS and the pool sounds like a good idea, and now is the perfect time to fork.

I'm looking at the KGW bug now. This does mean another hard fork, before i put it live i'd like someone else to check the code. 24kilo are you willing?
Thanks Dave, I guess you're familiar with this? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=552895.0

Our volume is way up, 1.54BTC on Cryptsy, 2.41BTC on Mintpal.

all coins with KGW have this problem or just KDC ?
mayeb its inside job of devs that dropped the coin...
It seems someone found a leak in the kwg... wich made coins fork if manipulated... I dont know the exact story.. just read that on poloniex Thats why they need a patch to fix it... Before the "hacker" does any more damage with more coins Apparently GrumpyCoin have a fix

[23:50] <kahir> so my deposit is just lost ? [23:52] <@MintPal-Jay> No, it'll be stuck until we can put it back online

@KDCDave
I will apply to rebuild and maintain klondikecoin.com and help with graphics design.
Thanks! That was our first applicant for any position, anymore for anymore? (FYI we will not be turning the server off if new people don't take over. Andy only responded to the coup, forcing them to make a decision and show it was just all talk). I'll go for content editor.

I hope the community begins to work everything out. People need to start thinking long term instead of short term.
This is very important, Bitcoin didn't go to $1000 in the first 3 months. Litecoin didn't go to $50 in a year. I'll admit I thought we were going to go to $1 pretty fast, and looking back these targets that everyone goes for damages the coin when people look at short investments. A lot of people in Alt coins switch between the coins and don't want to wait for a big price rise in a year or 2 in the future. Hopefully we can move forward.

Why do we need to keep pointing the blame?
The price is recovering from yesterday...
Yes, there wasn't much information from the Dev team but now we can change.
We need to move on from this and move forward.

@ MaKii @ bangomatic @ DailyModo @ G440T @ barryzand @ MysticDOGE
can these guys can takeover the kdc developement, for me it deserves to them as they are actively working for kdc
then we can even mention the investors who are the developers
I'm happy to take over, I have plenty of time to work on it.

We need gambling sites, back when there was that goldrush ponzi game loads of people were playing it until people realised they kept going too far and losing money.
I'm not saying another ponzi game but we need to make a gambling site that also accepts other coins (to get more people using it and let more people know about KDC)but have KDC as the main coin.
I'd make it myself but I don't know where to start. I can manage it though.

this coin is seriously undervalued now, @ 4coin/block there will be only 5760 coins/day soon.
At current rates that's only worth .25BTC for all mined coins a day, either this will bring the price up a lot or people will jump ship on mining. If we get enough volume then we should be able to get the price up on the next halving. EDIT: We need to get the price to around 0.00018 to maintain to remain as profitable as it is now.

Anyone else using coinedup just get orders stuck on pending?

A lot of bad feedback on that exchange, use with caution.
