1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Trading the Kimchi Premium on: November 16, 2022, 11:22:11 PM
Hello everyone,

The Kimchi Premium was a topic mostly prominent in 2017 when BTC traded several thousand dollars higher on South Korean exchanges like Bithumb or Upbit. Fast forward to today and the premium still exists but is only around 4%.

My question is whether the premium is actually tradable for someone who is not a South Korean resident. I can't find a definite answer. I'm especially wondering what exactly makes it so hard to trade the premium. What are the steps necessary to do so? In some article I read that one would need a bank account at South Korean Bank. There was also something very vague stated about taxes that you would have to pay in South Korea. To what extent do these (and other?) factors complicate or even inhibit trading the Kimchi premium?

Thanks in advance
2  Economy / Services / Bithumb verification for foreigners - How is it actually done? on: September 30, 2018, 09:17:09 AM
Hi,
I'm from Germany and would like to have my Bithumb account verified. It seems like there are very few people outside Korea who have actually done it and they don't give any valuable information on how to do it. The Bithumb website doesn't give to much information as well.

I'm especially confused with the details of the documents one has to send to Bithumb.
What parts of my Passport should be covered?
Are there any limits or special requirements for the uploaded file? Bittrex for example has a limit of 8GB and 8000 squarepixels for the uploaded documents.

How long does the verification process take? I've read from different sources that sometimes Bithumb doesn't respond at all.

Can anyone here please help me out with my questions?

Thanks in advance

4  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: March 20, 2018, 07:42:52 PM
Has anyone here heard of rumors about the near launch of an Antminer S9i?
I know someone who claims that Bitmain is going to launch a mining rig (Antminer S9i) that mines Bitcoin at 35% decreased use of electricity.
The launch is supposed to be on 1st April. Does anyone have more information on this?
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet Information on: February 01, 2018, 10:06:16 PM
Maybe I've expressed myself a bit unclear.
When I have a public key, is it possible to know where the coins that belong to that public key are stored?
Is it possible to know on which kind of wallet these specific coins are stored on?

Hello guys,

Is it possible to find out where the coins in a specific wallet are stored e.g. an exchange, an online wallet or cold storage?

Thanks in advance
