1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [DIME] Dimecoin | Many Coins | Step Reward | CPU mining on: February 15, 2014, 11:12:02 AM
I've seen this Fantase character talking on IRC and he rightly points out that the coin is very undervalued. Considering it is still well under 1 Satoshi where as there are a magnitude of coins of many times the value who have never had as active of a development team and a comparable amount of coins - I don't see how anyone could argue with that.

I see one of the pools has over 400 miners.

The buying activity doesn't seem to be synonymous with a "pump and dump" where on a low volume market the value would shoot 100%+ and then fall to a lower level than it originated but sustained growth.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [SHS] Shares [Second Generation Crypto Currency] [Project Announcement] on: January 02, 2014, 08:48:16 PM
Thanks for the consistently quick responses.

I feel that is quite significant information. I was close to investing quite a sum primarily on the basis of your reputation and the amount of work you've put into your Frozen project. But now I have the impression you aren't active in its development only the spokesperson?

Do you not have any concern making this announcement yourself should in the event they take the funds and run you will be held accountable and not them?

How did the developers contact you?

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [SHS] Shares [Second Generation Crypto Currency] [Project Announcement] on: January 02, 2014, 07:46:49 PM
I did read that.. I'm considering making an investment in the project and would be concerned if Block_Erupter did not have some form of relationship with the Chinese developers.

Worse case scenario - someone who he had no previous correspondence with sent a nice PM "my english no good. can u announce my dev and hav coins send to x" and out of good faith made this thread.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [SHS] Shares [Second Generation Crypto Currency] [Project Announcement] on: January 02, 2014, 07:32:18 PM
Could you tell us a bit more about your relationship with the Chinese developers? Did they approach you and ask you to make this post?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [SHS] Shares [Second Generation Crypto Currency] [Project Announcement] on: January 02, 2014, 06:01:46 PM
I do feel that Block_Erupter does have some level of credibility from his previous project - Frozen.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [SHS] Shares [2 Generation Crypto Currency] [Project Announcement] on: January 02, 2014, 04:42:46 PM
Due to the nature of the implementation would you imagine it being more problematic than other alt coins for exchanges to list Shares?

When do you envisage development being complete?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XIV] New Client 0.8.6.2 Dec 27th. on: December 28, 2013, 07:07:20 PM
There certainly seems to be an increasing amount of interest in this coin. Shows that if you keep on the side of ethics - honest developer with no pre-mining it can do the coin a world of good.

Around the same time that the hash rate multiplied, I've noticed an increasing number of Chinese sounding alias appearing on the pool. Perhaps due to the marketing "team" formed there.

With Axio expecting two exchange announcements coming I have high hopes.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CATcoin Sell and Buy Spreadsheet. on: December 27, 2013, 11:35:22 AM
Ordering the columns in min/max BTC/CAT value.

A suggestion of a donation for yourself if a sale goes through? I'd certainly be willing to do so.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CATcoin Sell and Buy Spreadsheet. on: December 27, 2013, 11:25:54 AM
I have 900 Cat for sale for 0.8 BTC.

As I'm a relatively new member, I'd be willing to send first to reputable members. Or for newer members send in small increments/escrow.

Thanks for providing the service!
10  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm giving away Bitcoin with this Christmas Card on: December 24, 2013, 10:41:13 PM
BitPappa - Excellent thank you very much.

I've just printed off 10 and they look great, very nice additional Christmas gift.

Maybe a good idea to add a donation address as I'm certainly more than willing to contribute for your generosity!
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][XIV] Xivra Launches December on: December 23, 2013, 07:18:22 PM
Many of you guys still mining? I've been in since the launch.

Axio - I can't seem to find the post but you mentioned you were looking to get some coins yourself due to lack of mining capacity?

I'd certainly be willing to donate.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XIV] Xivra launches at 20:00 CET Dec. 18th on: December 19, 2013, 09:59:09 PM
Axio - I feel that I'm owe you an apology, I was perhaps a bit harsh in calling your launch a "calamity". Although it was umpteenth countdown adjustment, me posting 5 minutes after the final scheduled launch stating my dismay where as you did launch a couple of minutes wasn't appropriate.

You appear to have made a very noble attempt at launching a coin with no pre-mine and seemingly little mining from yourself. Good effort.

What is your long-term vision for Xivra? Do you have a team?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][XIV] Xivra Launches December on: December 18, 2013, 07:04:03 PM
This "launch" has been nothing short of a calamity..

I've witnessed the countdown timer reset on 4 occasions and I actually set a reminder for 7pm GMT tonight in the belief tonight was the one.

What happens - countdown makes it down to 0 this time and that's it.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DGEX.com multicurrency exchange BTC <-> NXT no trading fees on: December 16, 2013, 09:54:31 PM
I've been using the exchange for a couple of weeks now.

I was initially a bit suspicious but after having conducted many trades I couldn't be happier with the service.

Although withdrawals are processed manually, I always received them within a couple of hours.

I also like how BTC deposits are registered on the account as soon as they arrive on the block chain, not having to wait for confirmations. Lets me get right into trading without watching the confirmation count anxiously.

Was in a bit of a panic today watching the price increase rapidly from 0.000007'ish to 0.000015 with a 24 hour trade volume of 205 BTC! Good to see the price has recovered.

Thanks!

Yeah - Spots has disappear along with GlobalCoin. Both have apparently forked and the Cryptsy team temporarily halted their trading.
16  Other / Archival / Re: deleted by request on: December 14, 2013, 07:23:46 PM
I can't believe I'm reading this.. I imagine it's the same people that were once crying out for deregulation and getting one over on the bankers who are crying to the regulators over a technical mishap.

Do you guys genuinely believe that "BigVern" is filling his pockets? Has there been one actual instance where funds have disappeared and not been returned?

The people behind Cryptsy aren't anonymous from some foreign land where no one knows.. they are perfectly open, talented American's who are innovators with a start up that has expanded at an alarming rate and is getting quite a lot to handle. As a result they have informed us all they are under a lot of strain but are remedying it - taking on more staff/servers and spending every hour god sends.

Can you comprehend the strain on a system that suddenly had an influx of 400% registrations with magnitude of sales increasing exponentially.. with the selection of currencies which they offer, I'm surprised that there wasn't more down time. They could more than handle the customer service demands at the start of November but with all the new registrants who many of which are late adopters and are inexperienced with trading, currencies and many of whom are clearly not suited to it and encounter problems.

On EVERY single instance I've now heard of where a balance disappears after creating a sell order the following simple solution works - purchase the smallest amount of coins possible, create sell order, cancel sell order and wow - the coins are back in your balance. If any problems arise rather than sending a ticket - check the forum https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/44674/page/last#post-107199 and it will undoubtedly have happened to someone else and there will be a solution.

I'd just like to say thanks to Cryptsy and the team behind it - you have developed an excellent site with a remarkable range of currencies. I'm sure if the people complaining had the opportunity to sit down and talk with you and think logically they'd appreciate you a lot more.
17  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [PSA] Bitcoin is 52% Attacked by GHash.io and BTC Guild! on: December 10, 2013, 10:30:42 AM
Perhaps a change of the title to "Bitcoin could potentially be 52%.." would be more accurate
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: and now... even LTC trading on plus500 on: December 09, 2013, 10:30:09 PM
Plus500 is a legitimate UK registered company and even registered on the stock exchange themselves.

I'd advise extreme caution for anyone not familiar with Contract for Difference or trading.

You can trade Bitcoin at 1/10 leverage - that means that gains and losses are multiplied 10x. If your thinking "only way is up now for Bitcoin after the slump, I'll make a mint" it likely wont be the case as all it takes is a 5% drop multiplied by 10 = 50% and you hit your maintenance margin and if you don't have any other funds, then your position is closed and all cash disappears!

Although you can apply stop loss, trailing stop to prevent losses - approach with care.

I'm a long time browser of the forum but have recently decided to join to get in on the action.

I've a fair bit of experience trading but I'd certainly agree that it takes quite an amount of knowledge + experience to consistently profit. Although these forums are an invaluable resource in gaining a perspective on a coins potential long-term feasibility.

Only for those of you that are very experienced in trading and related concepts... I'd recommend plus500.co.uk trading where you can trade Bitcoin at 1/10 leverage - although it's not for the faint hearted! It's not just gains that are multplied by 10, losses are too! If you need any advice with this, just let me know.
