22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Development on: January 07, 2014, 06:43:41 AM
Yeh, I highly doubt this company can produce the hash rates they are saying and for that cost. Increasing the clock speeds will have little to no effect over their "prototype". And their prototype seems to be a copy of https://github.com/kramble/FPGA-Litecoin-Miner. They state that they are using the units ram which means they have not found a way to efficiently store the pseudo-random data on die / chip (in this case in logic gates on FPGA).

Like I said " I highly doubt ". I mean sCrypt ASIC...... Don't you think a larger established ASIC mining equipment company like BFL would have done it already if it was so easy that Alpha just has to have the units "optimised".......

sCrypt is MEMORY HARD people = Process / Memory ratio of about 1-1, I.e. you need x amount of memory per x random logic. This equates to actual space requirements on die and compared to the costing requirements on other algo's is one of the highest.

I have racked my brain many a night on ways to produce a unit that is more cost effective than plain GPGPU units and it never works out, the only plus with some systems is power usage but at an incredibly higher cost than GPGPU units.

Read Colin Percivals paper on his sCrypt Algo http://www.tarsnap.com/scrypt/scrypt.pdf then make your mind up as to if you want to give this company money.

It's not impossible to build a unit like they are advertising, just WAY more costly than building units for SHA256 and due to the memory requirements ASIC (in its literal form) is highly unlikely.

I don't wish to slander this company, merely to make people aware of the facts.

+1 Excellent points and great link - thanks.

But i did hear somewhere that the sCrypt flavour used in cryptocurrencies is different sCrypt 'proper'.
do you know anything about that?

Yeh, coins like YaCoin use sCrypt-Jane which is a slighly modified version of sCrypt using different mix functions. sCrypt-Jane is cool because it dynamically changes the memory requirements of the algo therefore it will become more CPU friendly and less GPU friendly as the memory requirements increase.

AFAIK Litecoin and most Litecoin forks use sCrypt however sCrypt does include tuneable values so the Coin Maker can chose how much memory, latency and parallelism the algo will require.
Most AltCoins are Copy and Replace Jobby's so I wouldn't expect much difference in the algo.

24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin Payments Coin Vote on: January 07, 2014, 05:05:52 AM
Already the name "LottoCoin" keeps me away from trading. I wan't to make business and profit, not playing lotto.

So i'll better invest in EarthCoin for long term and hope that it will get a worldwide method of payments.

But it's OK when kids like to play with things that are nothing worth in the real world. For that we have lotto, doge, cats, mouse, pigs, chickens, manga ... ... ...

exactly how I see it...  what is so striking is that none of those guys here see this problem... when you mention it, they cry: but gambling blablabla...

as if that is something normal shops or serious businesses care for or want to be associated with...

imagine some electronics store having a "lottocoin accepted" sticker... anyone who is not totally into crypto will see the name and decide that they'd rather buy their ipod headphones somewhere else...

it just sounds sleazy

then imagine a fruits and vegetables store with "earthcoin accepted"... it just fits.
it has this green, responsible tinge to it. people respond well to the name.

the only ones that respond well to lotto are people who can't do math. hint: you always lose in the long run

Judging by your signature, you're following coins which have been promoted very good.

BTC Media
DOGE lolsites
EAC massive giveaways when the block was giving 9182372981738913 coins.
LOT : I give you 2 weeks until you add it at your sig Wink

So, I'm glad you'll add LOT address in 1-2 weeks in your signature.

Better stop talking bad about LOT, because I'll come back and remind you Smiley

The coin was giving how much per block? 9182372981738913..... The payout was 5x the standard reward of 10K. Im pretty sure that arbitrary number you whipped up is over the coins maximum generation amount :-).

Hi Everyone,

Here is a Google DOCEX (DOC Exchange) for Bernankoin.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Atq9CjXV_-3pdElwRk9ZVU9QT3gzcUJYSV9HeUo1emc&usp=sharing <--- This link is the only access in.

Yes this document is completely editable so please be careful, this system relies on people not screwing it up for everyone, I know not the best but surprisingly efficient.

Enjoy trading!!!

Peace, Kail.

Latest stats from the DOCEX,

Taking time but the rates are starting to match!!!

Average Sell BTC/EAC:         Average Buy BTC/EAC:            Volume for Sale:
0.00000375                             0.00000141                    1,519,204.57
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: *EarthCoin* EAC/BTC GOOGLE DOC Exchange *EarthCoin* on: December 24, 2013, 06:51:24 AM
Roll Eyes

there is not one product or service that utilizes earthcoin at the current moment, nor is it on any exchange + the volume of posts from "real accounts" in the main thread is dying down...

yet some of the sellers want to sell their EAC at a price that makes it the most profitable scrypt, sha coin around  Roll Eyes

good luck

my offer still open

I will buy 1million EAC for 0.03  Wink

3 Satoshi's per EAC, someone's trying to spread misinformation to pad their own pockets?! Buy at that price and when it hits an exchange @ 300 satoshis you've made quite the profit. Plus at that logic miners should just quit because power costs make it not worth it.... in fact miners would be making a loss.

nah, judging by recent coins to hit the exchange, this one could start 178 satoshi in thin trading, then trading between 25-40....honestly 3 satoshi a EAC is a good deal to negate the risk it will never hit the exchange.  Cool

First rule of Crypto-Coin Club...... DO NOT SELL BELOW COST TO PRODUCE.

Second rule of Crypto-Coin Club...... DO NOT SELL BELOW COST TO PRODUCE.

Loving your efforts to make a buck tho dude, motivated!!!!

Successful trade:
20k EAC for $25.

Let me know if you need proof Kail

Nice joke  Cheesy

Not a joke, sellers trying to ask to much, buyers trying pay too little. For the amount of traction this coin has, this price is close to perfect. $1.25 per thousand or 0.0018 btc per thousand.

So let me guess, your a seller right? lol

I agree Kanus1113, 180 satoshi's is a good median at the moment.

Current DOCEX Values as Follows:
Average Sell BTC/EAC:    Average Buy BTC/EAC:        Volume for Sale:
0.00000481                    0.00000146                1,514,204.57

Finally levelling, hope more trades can go through now!!!

I don't think I buy it,  Literally sure on that exchange, (thats the first and only exchange???)  Its going for roughly...  .3 BTC per 100k?     I am mining about 2-3K EAC an " HOUR".  This would mean that with only 5 GPU's my 'value' on EAC would be "much more" profitable to mine than any other Currency on COINWARZ.   I don't see that making any sense.   This would make it several times more profitable to mine than LTC.

Could this be true?

Really.... Ive got a 8.8MH rig and have only pulled 20K in the last 24 Hours, what pool you on? Thats an insane rate.

Hi Community,

Please inform me of last successful trades :-).

Need rates, TX: ID's and any other info, Setting some restrictions for realistic trading on the DOC Exchange... Just to promote actual trades occurring. Last trade I know of was at 300 Satoshi's Per EAC. So trades 200-250 satoshi's and bellow are being moved to the Legacy Items sheet.

I am trying to minimise but-hurt on both sides but I know I am going to cop it either way :-)

Sorry people but be realistic with your trades to promote actual trading occurring and the longevity of this coin.

Also does anyone know of any good ESCROW services for new Alts? I was considering offering services to be the "man in the middle" but I don't want to cop the scammer BS, This account is me and me personally i.e. no screen name BS, a simple google search will show you everything you need to know about me and probably stuff you don't. Not to add I cant be awake 24/7 to provide manual ESCROW services.

I'm trying to do as much as I can to promote this coin so any suggestions positive or not would be greatly appreciated.... and I know the DOCEX will die out when cryptsy or the like picks up this coin, but for the moment DOCEX and BBS is what we have and I'll try make it as good as I can for everyone.

Peace.

38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 4x R9 290 rig won't boot without monitor attached on: December 24, 2013, 02:35:00 AM
Yo dude,

Go into ur BIOS and change the setting for VGA selection (i.e. PCI-e to Onboard / Internal), you want it to be on the MOBO.

Got me the first time haha, Windows will not recognise cards if you do it this way but BAMT is sweet so likely other Linux alts. Although I think I did have to manually assign the devids to the cards.

Good Luck :-)
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: overclock setting for msi 7950 on: December 24, 2013, 02:28:08 AM
Yo dude,

Every Die is different ever so slightly, so like myself you may find that in a single rig with 4 cards, each card has a different OC Setting, Core & Memory Clocks stay about the same but Voltage can vary greatly from card to card.

Just my 2 cents, Good Luck, Takes me about 2 hours a card for Stable Max OC. Keep ur temps below 90, safe temps for most tech. Although auto shut off would be 115ish so there is some room for movement just be VERY careful.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: *EarthCoin* EAC/BTC GOOGLE DOC Exchange *EarthCoin* on: December 23, 2013, 10:23:24 AM
Wahoo, formatting on DOC Exchange is almost complete: Got some stats for you earthcoin lovers:

Average Sell: (EAC per BTC)       ~      Average Buy: (BTC per EAC)
0.000077571428571                       ~      0.00000019125

Sorry about the rounding... these are taken from the DOC Exchange and I have not figured out the cell options yet.

Community still has a way to go to bring in these orders to match but its cool to watch.

Sounds about right. It's even less than the values I predicted. However, this is in no way set in stone. Future demands and mining supply situations will drive the price up.

Well, I did manage to get a few dollars out of the good deals so Smiley

Haha yeh, it is nowhere near stable yet tho, the doc exchange is neat in theory but lacking in concept as it only takes one douche to stuff it up for everyone.  Myself, Adam9317 & Krauterz have made it look nice and functional but we will see in the long run. Those rates have changed to this:

Average Sell Offer BTC per EAC:       Average Buy Offer BTC per EAC:
0.000077571428571                       0.000000226

In only 5min... so we are nowhere near stable yet... hopefully cryptsy will pick this coin up but until then the doc exchange it is.
