2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Water spill on laptop containing bitcoins on: February 05, 2014, 11:47:27 AM
Hi guys,

Long story short think I have been pretty unlucky. I have no backup of these coins as they had literally just arrived from X site.

Spilt quite a lot of water on the laptop.

Laptop turned off,

I managed to turn laptop back on and home screen appeared but wouldn't let me doing anything

Then turned off again and it won't power up. The light still comes on to suggest the laptop is on but the laptop makes no sound

Am currently in the process of totally drying out the laptop.

Will my coins be retrievable? Any suggestions as to what to do/what not to do

One lot back to me tomorrow and one lot back to me Thursday then....hopefully?

do you get notified by mtgox that your bitcoins are back in your account or do you have to keep checking your account?

Although MtGox say all stuck transactions have been refunded - mine have not (as of yet). Is anyone else still waiting for their coins to be put back into their account?

Don't know if this will be of interest to anyone on here but this was what a friend was sent this morning:

"Dear xxxx,

We are pleased to announce that you are now able to enjoy our new and improved Japanese Domestic Transfer method to fund your MtGox account.

Starting from today onward please use the following banking information to start funding your account.

If you lost this email do not worry as this information is also available on the Funding option > Add Funds > Japanese Domestic transfer tab

Bank Name: Xxxxxx
Branch Name: Xxxxxx
Account number: Xxxxxx
Recipient Name: xxxxxxx

If you have already sent money to the original JapanNet Bank account, your money will arrive soon as long as you included your MtGox account number (Xxxxxxx) in the applicant name field.

If the funds you sent have not been credited to your MtGox account within 2 business days please do not hesitate to contact us via our support page.

Please note however that from now onward it is no longer necessary to include your MtGox account number in the applicant name field.

We hope that these changes improve your experience of using MtGox in Japan.

MtGox Team"

Hi guys, first post on here...hello etc

Made a bitcoin withdrawal two days ago from mtgox to a wallet and nothing through as of yet, also made a 2nd one for my remaining balance earlier today. Don't need to echo what's already been said but I guess at least the last few replies have been slightly positive with regards an email from MtGox and someone getting a payment into their account. Will try and add anything if I feel it will be of help to everyone and of course if I hear anything
