how the hell would a 2fa protect any glbse user from the alleged "session fixation attack"?

It can ONLY if 2fa is enabled for everything as the attacker cannot guess the 2fa sequence. GLBSE does not yet offer 2fa for everything, just almost everything.

Hi!

Thanks Diablo for a great miner, I'm using it on windows 7 64-bit and it works great mining with a 6970 and a 5970.

I resently reinstalled windows and went from catalyst 12.3 to 12.6, and notised that my Mhash/s had dropped from 1026 to 1015.

Should I uninstall my SDK, and install a previous version? or go back to catalyst 12.3? Not sure if I have SDK 2.6 or 2.7, all it says is version 10.0.938.1 in catalyst install manager.

You should always use the newest Catalyst and not install an SDK on top. You're also talking a 1% change, thats the margin of error of measurement from different Catalyst versions.

Hello!
I am using DiabloMiner throw the proxy UserGate 2.8.
There is a screenshot of working (working like waves):

Other miners are working throw proxy without problems.
DiabloMiner without proxy works very good.
This is bug? How to solve this problem?

Sorry for my bad english.

The bug is in the proxy, most proxies screw up "long poll" type connections, but you usually see it only in ajax webapps. You can ignore the error, but I suggest you don't use a proxy.
664  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: August 28, 2012, 08:02:41 AM
Really, GLBSE needs to, if it is to be a full 'stock exchange', be able to provide the issuer/controller of a stock/bond / whatever-they-want-to-call-it a complete list of ownership with some 'identifier' + number of shares owned.

I've asked this feature from nefario repeatedly for DMC, but it hasn't materialized yet. Maybe if both DMC and ASICMiner asks?
665  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: August 28, 2012, 02:32:03 AM
You want a told you so? If a website has 2FA of any kind, USE IT. PERIOD. DOUBLY SO IF IT IS A FINANCIAL WEBSITE LIKE GLBSE.

I have no clue why the fuck people think this is optional. I've asked nefario to mandate it to use GLBSE, but he gets all bitchy about it. Banks frequently do it (especially in Europe), so why not GLBSE? Just fucking do it.

...
The BTC price is quite high right now.
...
Doesn't matter whether or not the "price is quite high right now".

The price is adequate right now.

We bought into an ASIC production effort, not a BTC price speculation plan.

Yes, but ASIC production costs dollars not BTC. If BTC were to drop to, say, $1 right now, ASICMINER would be up shits creek. I voted yes on the measure with DMC's shares to make sure ASICMINER succeeds.

BTW, Friedcat? Hurry up with the BTC sales so we can get this shit in gear. I don't want to have to vote yes on another motion to deal with BTC price drops.
667  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Bitcorp Mining Company - BTCMC 60+ GH/s, clear ASIC upgrade path. on: August 22, 2012, 11:06:27 PM
We will have the terahash ASIC from BFL? Or only the minor ones?

All depends.....

we will crunch the numbers once they actually hit the market.  As of now, we are unwilling to finance BFL with a zero interest loan.

Actually, I'm interested in this. Lets say BTCMC has the money to upgrade all the BFL hardware, and BFL isn't lying about specs. What will the mh/share be after upgrade?
668  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Bitcorp Mining Company - BTCMC 60+ GH/s, clear ASIC upgrade path. on: August 21, 2012, 08:23:45 PM
Looks like we will soon be bringing on another 10+ GH/s in hashing power.

This will most likely be our last expansion until the ASIC armageddon.  We will re-assess the situation if/when the BFL ASICs hit the market.

We would like to once again gently point out to market participants the following:

BTCMC now has approximately 7 MH/s per share.
BTCMC now has approximately .45 BTC per share of cash and equipment.

If you buy a share in BTCMC anywhere in the .50 BTC range, you are essentially getting hashes for free.  Just food for thought for the individuals still paying ridiculous premiums for bonds with no claim on the underlying assets.

Delicious free mhash, om nom nom nom.

This is a really noobish question, but how do you run the miner on windows?

Use cmd.exe
So you would type ./DiabloMiner-Windows.exe -u youruser -p yourpass -o yourpool -r yourport

You don't need the "./" in windows.

This. "." is always in your path in Windows.

I have a radeon 7970.
I installed 12.6 then SDK 2.6.
Whenever I run the miner, the miner closes itself.
Did I do anything wrong?

Its a command line app.

You really make me want to scream. This obsession of you to represent everything as a fixed MH mining bond is getting really FUCKING TIRESOME, particularly since it has costed your investors thousands of BTC.  News flash: Asicminer is NOT a bond. It doesnt represent any fixed MH rating. Neither do half your other holdings btw.

I never said it was a bond.

Quote
ASIC miner is a high risk share. It may very well yield zero if their chip is dysfunctional. It may very well yield close to zero if they are way behind BFL. It may perhaps yield a tidy sum of money if they are indeed the first company to have an ASIC for long enough. Its a gamble, its but ITS NOT A BOND and that 30MH is  completely meaningless number you pulled out of your arse.

Nope, this is what ASICMINER is paying on it.

Quote
Now did fixed MH mining bonds price collapse? Of course they did. Everyone told you they would. Its not just asicminer, it not just BFLs announcement that caused it, its always been blatantly obvious to anyone with a brain. However, mining bonds havent lost their value like your shareprice has. When you look at the biggest bonds on GLSBE they have "only" lost ~30-40% of their value. You have managed to lose 96%. So whats your other excuse?

0.15 is 4% of 1? notsureifserious.jpg

If you're going to troll, you're going to have to work harder than this.

EskimoBob seems to have been AFK for an entire week and missed out on the ASICMINER IPO at 30mh for 0.10 (or 0.03 a mh). Lets catch him up, shall we?

If you value mh at lowest ask (which is what I do and most everyone else does due to highest bid not being reliable due to the giant spreads and bids often being wiped out by large panic sales), EVERYONE who had fixed mh or non-upgrading assets lost value 5x overnight.

So, we started at the 1 BTC IPO price, then the market massively devalued mh due to BTC going from $5s to a final peak of $15.40, driving down per mh prices down so DMC was worth in the 0.50s before I could catch up fast enough, and now ASICMINER drove it down another 5x on top of that the instant they IPO'ed.

If we're valuing mh at 0.03, and on the 19th (after Obsi pays me my last OBSI.1MHS dividend and I trade him for OBSI.ABMO) DMC will be 5mh/share, DMC is, by that calculation, worth at least 0.15 a share.

Thus, I have initiated a plan backed by a shareholder majority to increase the NAV over the next 3 months by eating dividends. I do not promise anything due to how volatile mh prices are, but if we stay around 0.03/mh, we could be back to looking at >0.50 again.

I think I am not the only one who likes to see the complete trading log from day one.
Mask IPO participant account names (except your own) and maybe get it PGP signed by nefario.
Lets do a little audit and see, what has actually happened and how did you manage to lose all this BTC (or not).
If everything looks OK, this will keep all the needless shit slinging at bay.

When are you going to publish the DMC trading logs?

AFAIK they don't exist. GLBSE does not contain such data long term.

Copy paste from GLBSE: "Get your full account history as a CSV"

Its not full, and I don't think its even a month.

How did it not? Have you been selling shares publicly at 1BTC while privately selling or trading them for far less? That alone should earn you a scammer tag. For all we know you sold yourself 20000 shares at 0 BTC, effectively robbing your investors. So what exactly did you get for all those shares, those same shares early investors had to buy at 1 BTC?

BTW, in June you boasted you had sold 2000 shares and barely over a month ago your published assets had a market value of ~2100 BTC:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=77469.msg1003959#msg1003959

Now its barely half that. If thats not evaporating, I dont know what is.

BTW bis,

I'm not sure why you keep claiming you lost 50% of your investment. Market prices for everything on GLBSE are panic low because of the BFL announcement. I don't know why you don't see this as an opportunity to just buy more at a much cheaper price.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=77469.msg969563#msg969563

Thats when DMC traded at 0.5 BTC,  3800% of todays value.
When the hell are you going to wake up and smell the coffee? And why dont you begin to apologize to everyone whos money you pissed away?

Very few (less than 100) of these shares were ever purchased at 1 BTC. Most were traded for.
678  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Diablo Mining Company (DMC) [8.7 gh] [2.926 mh/share] on: August 18, 2012, 08:25:30 AM
I still do not see a clear answer from you to a question "where is the rest of the BTC evaporated to"?
We are not talking about 20-30% drop. It's more like 90% has just evaporated to nothingness.

It didn't evaporate anywhere. It never existed.
679  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Diablo Mining Company (DMC) [8.7 gh] [2.926 mh/share] on: August 18, 2012, 03:57:45 AM
And now I don't have to worry about those 5113 shares of OBSI.1MHS, Obsi has put up a motion for OBSI.ABMO to convert my OBSI.1MHS to 5113 shares of OBSI.ABMO, which I am valuing at 7mh each due to Obsi's planned BFL upgrade. Nether of us think the motion will fail.

This upgrade will bring mh/share up to 5 mh/share.
680  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Diablo Mining Company (DMC) [8.7 gh] [2.926 mh/share] on: August 18, 2012, 03:00:47 AM
The warnings have been there for months he just chose to ignore them and bury his head in the sand. The only way he could have changed the outcome here is to find actual mining companies with growth plans as that is the only thing that can save you from ever increasing difficulty. If he doesnt sell off all the fixed bonds now and reinvest in growth assets the company will be worth 0.

Fixed mh bonds in our possession represent 5 ghash out of 73. BTC-MINING, BTCMC, and ASICMINER already represent what you have suggested.
