21  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptoxchange GIVE ME MY MONEY on: November 14, 2012, 12:14:46 AM
After opening a support request, that will sit there with no response until I post a comment to it.  Usually after I post the comment, "Support" will respond and process my withdrawal.  I have had two withdrawals processed this way and two that remain in the "Booked" state.

Thanks for the tip, I'm going to give that a try right now.

I am also having trouble getting $1500 USD out. Made request 11/1. Was asked to update my account info. I did so, they closed support case. Transfer sits as "booked" in their UI. Tomorrow will be the end of their 7-14 day expectation. I will open a new support ticket.

Not happy with this exchange at all.
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 29 bitcoins on: September 06, 2012, 03:07:54 PM
I just checked my bitcoin account, and I still have 29 bitcoins left...   anyone want them?    I think the going price is 11 bucks..  I'll give it to someone for 10...   I'm not going to open an account at mt.gox or somewhere just for 29 bitcoins...

sure send them to 18u3KYJLmQHkK3r3SY797eRPe2kHvZcZdu

What's up with flexcoin these days any way? I think I have .79 btc stuck there still.
23  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is this Pirate on Slashdot? on: August 23, 2012, 06:25:01 PM
How I got there is via (Don) Shrents as in SH Rents or S.H. Rentals as in Spain Holiday Rentals (.com). One of the names in located on the email Dump.

Ah Bruno, I love you!

SH Rentals is "Somalia Hamster Rentals"...where else do pirates go for fun?

24  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Project will be making a major announcement in September on: August 16, 2012, 09:56:46 PM
my guesses:

- Satoshi revealed as purely fictional. This was a 20% project from google that management knew was too disruptive to let continue....but devs knew it was too disruptive to not release.
- experiment is now over....thanks everybody....btc are now convertible to Google Play credits...but no longer mine-able.
25  Economy / Speculation / Re: $13!!!!!!!!!!! on: August 15, 2012, 10:40:21 PM
Even lamest bull is better than a dancing bear. Tongue

Hear hear! Bulls (bovines, to be exact) kill more humans per year than bears and sharks combined. Go bulls!
26  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do we break $13 today? on: August 15, 2012, 10:32:35 PM
but the question is, who could be buying in right now? I'll be honest, I saw the price hit 12.60 and I bought in with the rest of my day to day money, but I doubt many people are just throwing in for the ride upwards (assuming they think there will be one) most of the volume has to come from people buying in fresh.

I dunno. Volume seems pretty flat for the last week or 2. Whoever is buying is doing it in a very controlled way, IMHO.
27  Economy / Speculation / Re: no arbitrage occurring between Intersango GBP and mtgox? on: August 15, 2012, 09:44:44 PM
ppl are discounting Intersango being dragged into the Bitcoinica lawsuit somehow.  or at least that their owners are going to take a financial hit which could threaten the site.  i hope not.

I removed intersango from my arbitrage bot several weeks ago for this very reason. Moved my capital elsewhere. Thinking of doing the same with CampBx because the volume is so low and they dont have any good exchange to exchange fiat transfer options (like say BitInstant). I miss TradeHill. Arbitrage aint what it used to be...but there are still some very good days.

29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [WARNING] Fishing attempts for MtGox Account Verification info on: May 19, 2012, 05:24:10 PM
I got the following email last night. The wording is decent but the links embedded dont point to the real MtGox. Yes, my email does appear in the leaked Gox account info from last year.

Hope nobody falls for it...Note that quoting it here doesnt show the actual urls that were set in the html email sent, I put those in parens after the link targets in the msg.

Be careful out there!

30  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E.com automated trading BitCoin \ SolidCoin \ iXcoin <-> USD \ BTC on: April 20, 2012, 06:59:51 PM
Are you going to implement a trade api for automatic trading?
Much like tradehill/mtgox.

I didnt see any response to this question. When do you plan to have an API for trading?
31  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Wonder who this solominer is? 88.6.216.9 on: March 23, 2012, 06:32:54 AM
So could any small country or government agency with the wherewithall to do nothing but mine.

Now that the old man is out of the way, Kim Un is free to focus on bringing the shambling NK economy into the digital age...1 TXN at a time!

They dont want to risk it being a back door to getting Stuxnet'd so they wrote their own version...skipping the complexity of implementing TXN handling.

Phase 2 will be to enlist every Korean language copy of StarCraft into the botnet and they will have the capitalist dogs south of the 49th printing money for them!

I, for one, welcome our new Hermit Kingdom blockchain overlords!

Huh  am i missing something?  where is the downvote feature?

yes, you are missing the downvote feature.

God yes we need down vote for crap like this...and the snarky spam from Matthew just keeps coming!

Mods, please move this out of main topic. Belongs in marketplace or trading or some such. Get Matthew's profit making scheme out of here, please.

Bah! Shameless bait and switch.

How about you withdraw this scheme and get back to your magazine or whatever you do that's actually useful to the community.

Superdollars, and the untold billions of (electronic) dollars spent combating them could be the wake-up call that finally forces us to think more clearly about the costs of physical money. If killing all cash strikes you as a little too radical, consider for a moment what it would mean to get rid of high-denomination banknotes. Who would be most inconvenienced if Washington were to outlaw $100 and $50 bills tomorrow? Cartel bosses in Juarez, Mexico jump to mind. So do human traffickers in China and Africa, aspiring terrorists in Afghanistan, wildlife poachers, arms dealers, tax evaders, and everyday crooks who hold up mom and pop groceries. And, or course, North Korean government officials.

Also mentioned on /. with surprising little of the usual vitrol when bitcoins are mentioned. http://yro.slashdot.org/story/12/02/24/1949204/north-koreas-high-tech-counterfeit-100-bills

For every small increment of shady financial dealings that bitcoin might make a wee bit more convenient, there is vastly more volume and more dangerous stuff already going on with hard currency.

My wife and I saw the Los Angeles premiere of Transcendent Man, and the subsequent Q&A with Kurzweil. Amazing stuff, it's part of the reason I'm a long-term bull. I justified the investment as "rent for our uploads".  Cheesy

Do yourselves a favor and marry other nerds. There's nothing like a spouse who understands big picture stuff.

+10^10

I don't get nerds that don't marry nerds.

39  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox Failed, Order Status:Pending for 10 min on: January 18, 2012, 05:45:20 AM
What abount CampBX https://campbx.com ?

I have used CampBX quite a bit, both via UI and via API. It's solid. I do wish it had a bit more volume but it's been good enough.
40  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do You Trade BTC-USD Somewhere Other Than Mt Gox, Excluding Bitcoinica on: January 18, 2012, 05:21:31 AM
can we get an "all of the above" option?

hows that working out for you?

Works good with arbitrage bot. CBX and ISG have very low volume so they come around infrequently. Most of my action is back and forth between Gox and TH.
