1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CLOAK] Cloakcoin | No Premine | X13 | Exchange Anon | BITTREX on: June 04, 2014, 09:03:37 PM
The whitepaper will be crucial to this coins success. Nethash rate is insane in anticipation, this coin can be a Darkcoin killer.

I'm not sure about being a Darkcoin killer.  Need to see the white paper before I pass judgement but with the exchange mixing service you need to trust the exchange to keep anonymity.  Beauty of Darkcoin is it's decentralized mixing, trust-less based on the master nodes.  I don't see anything new with this coin if it's simply a mixing service built into the wallet.

If Black Arrow truly wants to salvage what little remains of their reputation, they need to double the hash rate for compensation and not require any additional investment by customers.  Anything short of that will be disappointing and go against everything they've been promising.  Company without integrity is doomed.

I am anticipating the news on exactly single order X-1's will either receive or do to receive another x-1, according to the Blackarrow Forums on Ecointalk it seems like they are taking suggestions a bit and it isn't a set in stone compensation.

If a single X-1 get's another X-1, I expect my order of 10 X-1 to receive another 10 X-1 also.  The compensation must be fair for all orders.

And this is where it's not fair.

Why wouldn't that be fair?  If someone orders 1 and gets compensated with 1, someone that orders 10 of the exact same product should also be compensated with 10.  Ratios should match or else you deal with a bunch of issues, what happens if you order 3? Do you get compensated with 2?  What about 9? Do you get 5?  How about even numbers?  Huge can of worms if you do not compensate in equal proportions for all orders.
Well that is an issue when they have stated 50%, probably should do 50% and round up to double on odd orders, since this was unexpected and a preorder no one had insider trader and ordered 10 seperate single orders. 10 will still get 5 free units while people who ordered one won't get left out with nothing. Seems pretty decently fair.

I would define fair as equivalent without favoring any order amount.  Seems under that scheme if you ordered an even number of units you don't get an equivalent compensation.  I would propose even numbered get additional compensation over odd, which can be in the form of free shipping or included psu.  There should also be a compensation option available that does not require any additional costs.  It's not compensation if customers need to pay more, this is just upselling.

I am quickly losing faith in the management of this company.  There is no ship date for X-1, no estimated costs for PSU for each unit, no cost on additional shipping.  Not even a prototype video showing a working X-1.  There was also no email sent to anyone that ordered informing them of these changes.

The "compensation" has been thrown together without much thought and does not do anything to actually compensate customers that took a chance on this company.  They know there will be no orders after they ship because of their horrible track record so they're trying to upsell more units to those they already milked.

This is not the right way to do business.

If they do not take steps to adequately reimburse customers, without requiring any additional investment by the customer,
Black Arrow should be Black Listed by the bitcoin community.

So there is no mention of a ship date for X1 and now BA wants customers to send more money to cover shipping on the 50% compensation?!?  That shipping cost should be covered by BA, very bad form to make people pay even more to be compensated for your delays.

This is not looking good.. I have a feeling the chips came back bad and we're in for another delay.. either that or they completely disappeared.

Minersource is issuing refunds.

Except where they said Batch 2 isn't eligible. And it appears several of us have contacted them for refunds and been given a flat "no".

It seems very likely there'll be another delay announced, so batch 2 orders will be in the same boat very soon.

Reading the status updates.. just feels like they're jerking us around.  Just waiting for the other shoe to drop with their email saying they're delayed another month or two because some random part that no serious miner cares about is not 100% to their standards.  They don't seem to be in any rush since its other people's money.  At this point I'd rather them start buying parts from bitmain and ship that, I'd at least have something I can mine with.

Major Dumping going on...

In the market they call it a frog boil. you can't turn the heat up to fast or they all jump out at once!

If the pump monkeys get to work I can finish dumping...  Cheesy  Time for a giveaway. LOL

I'll be at the bottom, getting a better deal than anyone. Thanks to fast block halving, the more I hold onto, the less power wannabe traders like you will have. Dump more please  Smiley

That's awesome... U can get all your crapcoin back. you can trade with your friends and neighbor's.

Crap-e Diem baby Tongue

All that talk and you never got to my buy at 5, lame.  I thought you were a real player but guess not.

Its a real shame that Version has had such a problematic start. It has real potential as a great store of value crypto.
It has been very frustrating.  Version was intended to be my prized coin.  I didn't sleep for many days and I lost my day job because of it.

Looks as if the blocks are being harvested intentionally again.

Going to have to take a close look at the distribution to continue with this.

Anyone want to try a mod. of p2pool for Version and I'll run it on the nodes I posted above ?
It is not that they are being harvested intentionally, but we have to wait it out for the difficulty to come up to par again.

There were several nested issues as a result of the KGW algorithm:

1. When proof of stake kicked in and PoS blocks started to join the blockchain, the KGW function was not differentiating between PoW and PoS.  This was causing the moving average to get dragged down close to the minimum difficulty and the chain to look like it was "kicking over" into min diff repeatedly.

2. Once we solved that, the other issue is that KGW doesn't handle chain stops and starts.  What you wind up with is a very long time difference between the last block and the block before it, and it drags the difficulty down as well, like a time warp attack with a very long time warp.

So, I put in a switch to get us out of KGW and onto the "normal" calculation.  Its a simple formula with exponential adjustment, but it will take some time for the difficulty to ramp up to match the hashpower on the network.  In the short run it means orphans and the behavior you typically see with a brand new coin lanch, but in the long run it should result in a more stable chain for us.

Sorry about your day job, hope things work out in the end.  This coin has great potential but seems to be plagued with issues, anyway to pull in dev resources from another PoS coin as a reference to get this guy back on track?

Unless something huge changes, it's safe to say that DIEM will be the first coin we add to Paysha after we officially launch

Congratulations on a nice community and I like the coin

Paysha adoption sounds great! Need more publicity on the benefits of the coin. 8 second blocks and had no forking issues!

What is going on with mineoncloud?  I have coins stuck on that pool and they are not allowing any withdrawals.  There are no blocks being found on that pool.  When will they start allowing withdrawals?  Has been in this state for 10+ hours.

If anyone else is on this pool and wants to confirm any issues, please let me now and I'll cross it off until it's fixed

I've been stuck with this message most of the day, and I have 2million+ coins stuck in there:

We are investingating issues in the backend. Your shares and hashrate are safe and we will fix things ASAP.

Payouts disabled, you will not receive any coins to your offline wallet for the time being
Findblocks disabled, new blocks will currently not show up in the frontend

Is this just my account??  Anyone else on this pool being blocked withdrawals?  I still see traffic going there so miners are still using it?  Anyone know the mineoncloud admin, very frustrating I can't pull my 2 million coins off that pool.
