1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 💠Advanced Technology Coin💠Secure💠Anonymous💠Fast💠 on: January 04, 2019, 09:08:12 AM
There are 1998 masternodes in State NEW_START_REQUIRED (including my own!)
and there is only 1 (ONE!!!) Masternode in Enabled state.

I wouldn't wonder if the only Masternode left working is the one of the Dev-Team!!!

Did full re-sync (after purge blockchain again). Now There are 99 nodes shown ENABLED and zero nodes in State NEW_START_REQUIRED.
I'm really excited how long this state will keep. Looks like my masternode repeatingly drifts off the official chain by any malfunctional node or how can this be?!

Hey guys,

I'm still having lot of problems running masternode. Does anyone run masternode stable? Only completly deleting blockchain and doing full-resync repairs the problem temporarely. The masternode is working/getting rewards then for a few hours (few hours to 1 day). Then it stops.

I noticed a log message claiming "Misbehaving: [my ip:port] ...". But nothing more concrete. Already tried to find stable masternodes to add to my config avoiding sync with any broken chain.

Also tried to contact arcticcoin team via git-tracker and discord. It neraly looks like these guys only do some promotion on twitter trying to force their coin value, but there's no response to issues. Also the last activity in GIT is nearly 2 years ago. So I think this coin is dead or the dev's are scamming us the coin is already alive?

Is it dead or alive? Any suggestion for my masternode issue? As here are still some users active I think there should be a chance to get the masternode work again stable. Selling isn't worth it as initially invested more than it's worth now!!!

**update**
Just droppped this to my masternode api to check all nodes listed:
>goldminenodelist

Well I really think Arcticcoin is dead. Dev's seem to give a shit on what users report about complains here.

Recently gave my masternode a try (after having it running without any reward and REQUIRES_RESTART State). I tried purging whole blockchain-data and did a full-resync. Masternode worked with rewards for 8 hours... then falling again in shitty REQUIRES_RESTART state.

I'm done with Arcticcoin.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Masternode-Problems after vps IP changes! on: November 02, 2018, 09:16:44 AM
Worked after some time now to make the network recognice the new IP ... can be closed.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Masternode-Problems after vps IP changes! on: October 26, 2018, 12:31:37 PM
Hi everyone,

I recently had to change vps ip addresses (for some technical reasons by the vps company). I already reconfigured linux network-interfaces and changed "externalip" to the new ip for my wallet/masternodes and masternode.conf.

All masternodes currently are complaining an error like this and therefore stopped working!

Quote
Not capable masternode: Broadcasted IP doesn't match our external address. Make sure you issued a new broadcast if IP of this masternode changed recently.

I also tried for some coins supporting broadcasts with this API-Command:
masternodebroadcast create-all

But actually non of them are going back to ENABLED.

What else can I try? Will I have to reconfigure new masternodes from scratch for all masternodes them?! Where else is the old vps ip-address stored?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Arctic Coin (ARC), No premine, Evolution over 1 year on: October 23, 2018, 11:15:40 AM
Arcticcoin seems to gone "dead"?! I can't see any official response here by @ArcticCoin Team?

My own masternode as well as a bunch of 3rd party nodes are listed with State "NEW_START_REQUIRED". I don't have any clue what's wrong there. I already re-started daemon, deleted blockchain-data and resynced from scratch ...

simply query ARC Wallet-API with this:
masternode list

and you well get this:

Code:
"26cc35b59bd6fec3e6429cbacbde1171c690fe93ca1babab06e3d9d9cd16884b-1": "NEW_START_REQUIRED",
  "89eea8f25e8cd6641cfdde6bb1b90b9a561b12384748b8a0b2dbaebacca10cee-1": "NEW_START_REQUIRED",
  "58ae1ab3055592d89342b1da50e9353e498483a12c7c0aee266e8ce2b9805fc6-1": "NEW_START_REQUIRED",
  "58ae1ab3055592d89342b1da50e9353e498483a12c7c0aee266e8ce2b9805fc6-6": "NEW_START_REQUIRED",
  "2cc4c2b76e21431aa7ad2c105e3b568b530092a4d76f0b77223dfbd78841082a-1": "NEW_START_REQUIRED",

There are about 2028 nodes listed with NEW_START_REQUIRED. Only 11 (!!) Nodes are still listed ENABLED! This is a blame to @ArcticCoin Team!

To re-check simply use this in linux:
$> arcticcoin-cli masternode list | grep NEW_START_REQUIRED | wc -l
2028

$> arcticcoin-cli masternode list | grep ENABLED | wc -l
11

And most suspicious... my own MN is listed as ENABLED in my own wallet (masternode list | grep "{token}"). But on masternodes.online monitoring it's listed as NEW_START_REQUIRED as well for more than 4 weeks now!

By the way.. I'm using recent version:
$> arcticcoind --version
Arctic Core Daemon version v0.12.1.2-1321e72

Same version offered on "official" webpage by ARC-Team as binary download.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Run PoS coin with masternode having more than one node? on: September 11, 2018, 10:36:54 AM
Hello,

I hope this is the right place for generic question regarding running a PoS coin masternode with more than one "node" in masternode.conf. I've tried with Nyxcoin - but after some research this seems to be a generic question/problem at all?
I had running a single masternode/wallet fine for month. I tried to add another node by adding additional IP address and second genkey, tx-hash/output into masternode.conf.

At first it looks like working fine. In my case I was able to fetch node-status'es by using API-Command "masternode list-conf". First node went to ENABLED very quick. Second node (using different IP!) struggles between PRE_ENABLED and WATCHDOG_EXPIRED.

I left it running some days - even tried restarting the daemon and so on without getting ENABLED state for second masternode. Generally I suppose it should be possible. The debug.log also mentions second masternode-ip broadcasting as well. And even the API-Commands "suggest" it should be possible by commands like masternode start-all" or "start-many" which implies there could be more than one node in a single wallet.

Does anyone have an idea? Alternatively is it possible anyhow to "share" blockchain-data" between two wallet/node instances to avoid having two separate directories consuming double space for same data (which can become a few GBs for coins that succeed for some years ...).

PLEASE
PLEASE

Someone here knows how to restart or re-index the client on the server through PUTTy??? The client is stacked and I need to restart it in order to keep the master node up and running.... There should be a command for that, coz everything we can do with the client on window desktop we can do it at the server ( VULTR)

PLEASE
PLEASE

add "reindex=1" in your arcticcoin.conf file and restart the daemon.

My masternode is going to stuck again for days now and I don't know why!

mnsync status
{
  "AssetID": 1,
  "AssetName": "GOLDMINENODE_SYNC_SPORKS",
  "Attempt": 0,
  "IsBlockchainSynced": false,
  "IsGoldminenodeListSynced": false,
  "IsWinnersListSynced": false,
  "IsSynced": false,
  "IsFailed": false
}

Tried to restart a few times for the last days, but it's always stuck here: GOLDMINENODE_SYNC_SPORKS

debug.log is full of this:
Quote
2018-09-07 08:09:55 CGoldminenodeSync::ProcessTick -- nTick 3403 nRequestedGoldminenodeAssets 1 nRequestedGoldminenodeAttempt 0 nSyncProgress 0.000000
2018-09-07 08:10:01 CGoldminenodeSync::ProcessTick -- nTick 3409 nRequestedGoldminenodeAssets 1 nRequestedGoldminenodeAttempt 0 nSyncProgress 0.000000
2018-09-07 08:10:07 CGoldminenodeSync::ProcessTick -- nTick 3415 nRequestedGoldminenodeAssets 1 nRequestedGoldminenodeAttempt 0 nSyncProgress 0.000000

Anyone has a hint how to get over this? Is there any network issue or is there's something broken in my local blockchain or data-files?!
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NYXCOIN POW Masternode Complex Coin Project on: September 06, 2018, 08:14:29 AM
One of my two masternodes got "POSE_BAN" Status now?! What the hell does this mean?
I assumed it is possible to run two masternodes using same ip/port (as mentioned in some tutorials around in the internet).

Ok... got help in discord. Looks like it's not possible to run two masternodes using same IP address. But it's possible to run two (or more) masternodes in same wallet/masternode by adding additional entries using another IP-Address (server requires reconfiguring for another IP too!).

I've been running NYX masternode for a while now and decided to setup a 2nd node on same vps/wallet. Regarding to other masternode-coins this should be no problem:

I've done the usual way:
  • Creating second account/address "mnode2"
  • I've send single-transaction to mnode2-address
  • I've create masternode genkey
  • I've updated masternode.conf (added second alias/line using: alias, ip:port (same as mnode1 in first-line), masternodeprivkey and colleteral-output

Everything looking fine so far... also have setup sentinel already (for a while to keep up the node).

My first node goes in ENABLED-State after restarting nyxcoin-daemon. But my second node keeps stuck in WATCHDOG_EXPIRED-State by fetching API using comamnd "masternode list-conf" returning two entries. The result for mnode1 (masternode-entry 1) is ok as usual, mnode2 (masternode-entry 2) looks fine despite of status: "WATCHDOG_EXPIRED".

Any ideas?

Hello,

after the "big failout" for arcticcoin my masternode went back some days ago (I've given an update here). Since then my ARC masternode doesn't work very stable. I am repeatingly getting "NEW_START_REQUIRED". After doing this it is stuck again at mnsync status "GOLDMINENODE_SYNC_SPORKS".

Does anyone have a clue what to do to resolve this permanently? This really sucks. I'm running some other masternodes as well and those doesn't require so much maintenaince like arcticcoin node does!

I'm really thinking about shutting it down it these problems persist.

Hi people, in my case the client on the wallet is updated till the date but the problem is on the server, so my question is there should be a way to re index or kind of restart the client to get the data from the beginning that was what I did on the client wallet and it worked perfectly...

If any of you know the commands to do this on Putty please let me know, I'l appreciate it

You can give it a try. You have a desktop or CLI (command line) wallet? For desktop you need to get into console-menu.

try these commands:
mnsync status

will show you something like:
{
  "AssetID": 1,
  "AssetName": "GOLDMINENODE_SYNC_SPORKS",
  "Attempt": 0,
  "IsBlockchainSynced": false, <-- should be true
  "IsGoldminenodeListSynced": false, <-- should be true
  "IsWinnersListSynced": false, <-- should be true
  "IsSynced": false, <-- should be true
  "IsFailed": false
}

mnsync reset

If this won't work and you want to do a full resync of the whole blockchain follow this guide:
if this won't work make a backup of your wallet.dat in save place (you should anyway!). Then delete every files in wallet-home looking like these (IMPORTANT: don't delete: wallet.dat and goldminenode.conf!)

This files/directories are save to delete:
blocks/
chainstate/
database/
peers.dat
netfulfilled.dat
governance.dat
gmpayments.dat
gmcache.dat

Great news... today my masternode went to mnsync status "GOLDMINENODE_SYNC_FINISHED". I already was able to start masternode!

My wallet went to state "GOLDMINENODE_SYNC_SPORKS" again... it was running fine for some days now. I really think about selling the coins if the technical issues will continue like this!!!  Angry
16  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is there any Blockchain/Wallet not requiring C++ Skills? on: August 22, 2018, 01:50:51 PM

Do you want to develop a new coin (that is,  start a blockchain) or
are you interested in developing wallet software?

Thanks for the hint. I'm interested in developing new coin (start a blockchain) in the main manner, but I think about implementing some new things that makes the blockchain useable for other things than being just a pay-coin. I'll like to start with something most simple like a plain draft coin in a language that doesn't get me too confused for start (like c++ is really complex).

I'll have a look for the book you mentioned and also for RUST language which could be a possible candidate to learn/work with if it isn't too complex and easy to learn by doing.

For anyone else... for RUST/blockchain development this links look like a good start I'm also looking into these:
https://www.rust-lang.org/en-US/documentation.html
https://exonum.com/

17  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is there any Blockchain/Wallet not requiring C++ Skills? on: August 22, 2018, 12:14:15 PM
NXT code is also Java based.
https://nxtwiki.org/wiki/For_Programmers

Thanks for the hint. May be a good start. But NXT is developed as very complex eco-system itself (Assets, sub-coins, and so on). I primariliy search for a real "simple" wallet/blockchain solution that I am able to fork and develop on top for my own altcoin.

Let's see... may be someone else has a good place to start?

Not blockchain, but the wallet of the DAG-based ByteBall currency is JS / NodeJS based:

Thanks. Nice hint. I will have a look into it.

**Edited**
Had a look into it (no security-code review)... ByteBall has some other Projects belonging to their Blockchain that look intereseting as even hub/wallet seem to run on nodeJS. But I will need to have a deeper look on it to know if it can be used for own purposes easily.

This looks more like the right start for the core stuff.

19  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Is there any Blockchain/Wallet not requiring C++ Skills? on: August 22, 2018, 08:46:33 AM
Hi there,

I'm a Web-Developer and really interested in Blockchain/Wallet stuff. I really would like to develop some kind of own Wallet/Blockchain with masternode. I also know simply I could "fork" any existing. But I think of something more than that by giving the Blockchain/Masternode some kind of useful application for real-world that can be "processed" by (master)nodes and can be paid by consumers using the coin itself.

I already did some research and also had a look into a very interesting project how to code own blockchain using NodeJS. but in fact I know NodeJS may not be the right language to have a solid blockchain/wallet application as it has limitations in performance.

I currently have PHP and some C# and NodeJS skills. For my sake I'm not really a C++ geek indeed I can read some lines of codes or do some minor modifications as required and not too complicated.

Is there any kind of developer-framework for NodeJS or C# which could be used to simplify the whole thing at all? I think some kind of library or "skelleton" that already provides a simple wallet/blockchain that can be customified by altering algorythm and so on, but already provides the working concept and an JSON-API compatible to existing defacto standards (JSON-API already used by most of all wallet-daemons).

Anyone has an idea for this or is C++ the only way to get something work?
