884  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] in-hand hashing power at $130 per gh/s on: July 28, 2013, 06:56:36 AM
Really, no BFL Hardware?  I have 240GH in-hand (4x 60GH Singles).

100% never.

Don't believe in the company, think they are scumbags.  Imagine if you have an issue with the machines?  I would rather have a grip of ASICminer devices and know I can get service if I need.

Price updated to $100 per GH/s upon news of the cheap ASICminer USB's (.45 btc !)
885  Economy / Goods / [WTS] 4x "Dr. Dabbers" - The best wax / thc concentrate pen I know of on: July 28, 2013, 05:54:05 AM
Ok so many of my poker friends come into Vegas only for the WSOP each year.  They all called me before hand and asked me about concentrate pens because wax is all the rage because it's fucking amazing.  So anyway, I bought 20 of these for the WSOP and sold 14 or so to my friends.  This is the best concentrate pen I know of.  If anything, it is "too good" in that the heating element, which looks to me to be an exposed e-cig atty in a shallow chamber, gets too hot and burns your wax up too fast giving you huge hits along the way.  No, it's not all bad... I used this exact pen for the last 2 months or so and it's amazing.  I have 4 and they won't last long.

.8 btc shipped for each, I ship all Monday --> 1Cb2aoJjoYMLYYPLnLPyxXjTmJ9PxdLsoa

[pic to see the atomizer & shallow chamber perfect for oil]

.8 btc to here --> 1Cb2aoJjoYMLYYPLnLPyxXjTmJ9PxdLsoa

then PM me your address / transaction ID of your payment.

I will update this thread when they are gone / edit this OP.

888  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] in-hand hashing power at $100 per gh/s on: July 27, 2013, 08:32:37 PM
Hi.

I'm Bryan Micon.  I have been working with SealsWithClubs since 2011.  We are the biggest bitcoin poker site.  I have a flawless reputation here and in the poker world.

I along with a friend are buying some hashing power.  We can pay $100 per gh/s for ASIC devices.  No BFL equipment please.

We are poised to move fast.  We can pay in any currency, and I see BTC is most desired.  No problems.  Wire xfer on monday, no problems as well.

Hit me up if you need fast payment for an in-hand miner.

*** NOTE:  Due to the volatile market the price per GH/s is subject to change.  Fast.

1)  MAJOR OVERLAY ALERT | 10k guar | 95+5 to Enter | IN ~3 HOURS | 6pm ET | 3pm PST | DONTGETSHUTOUT

2)  I heart the bet-bot and everything Ender has done with it.  I think the #degen for raked flips is brilliant.  That being said, it certainly spams the chat.  As Free said, we are working hard to build tools to allow you to see the main lobby chat as you wish.  These tools are obviously imperfect right now.  A "Stable-Chat" is much needed, as I know Donk4u and many others are doing daily business for hours each day and firing down the SwC MTTs.  Fantastic.  We will have things properly filtered and/or separated soon.  Maybe a drop-down for muting all "#degen" action?  possibly default-on?

3)  "Morning w/the Chairman" for today:

890  Other / Meta / "Satoshi Square" local in-person bitcoin exchanges "Currency Exchange" subcats? on: July 27, 2013, 06:52:53 PM
So we've been seeing more and more of these "Satoshi Square" articles where there is a set physical time/day of the week where humans gather to anonymously in-person trade btc, sort of early NYSE-style right in a public place.  This is happening in NYC & San Fran that I have read this week, and I'm sure is going on in many other cities.

Why not aid this on the biggest btc forums?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0

Marketplace>Currency Exchange is perfect to make sub-forums for major cities.  Let's start with the 1's that already have a living, breathing "Satoshi Square" and let's get trusted forum members to monitor their city's sub-category & start more of these.

I'm down to lead the Las Vegas one, and the Aria Sportsbook Saturday afternoons seems perfect Smiley

892  Economy / Marketplace / USB Block Erupter Mining Artwork on: July 26, 2013, 06:57:54 PM
** Full disclosure:  I have many thoughts each day.  Most will not turn out to be winners.  I am a classic narcissist like my mother so this my not be as golden as I believe, but I think it could be badass if done right:

Title:  USB Block Erupter-based Mining Artwork
Abstract:  I feel in love with USB Block Erupters yesterday.  Relatively easy to get mining, and almost not a terrible investment (but likely -EV at $100/each or 1 btc ATM).  These things are beautiful.  The size, the simplicity, the quiet hashing... I would love to take apart some powered USB hubs, arrange them in some cool way on some backing, use a RasPi and some simple yet cool output screen, and make something you can hang on your wall that actually hashes.  Likely Wifi needed to really drill this aesthetically, but you will need a power cable anyway, so might as well run the network cable along side it.

I have a handful of slot machine back-glass that seem to be an awesome backing to the miners:

the "Ca$h for Life" title has that jank old school LED scroller-screen that I believe still works.  All the wires & harnesses are in tact, and that should *totally* be the display screen for hashing power.  I think I could cram 2x 7 port USB hubs in a creative way on the bottom silver part, would buy a grip of head sinks for both heat dissipation and general looking like a badass reasons.

I have no programming experience and would be willing to send some of this shit to a guy that could do it or just feels me on this 1.

We'll see where this goes.  Likely nowhere but seems like a cool idea IMO.  Maybe I'm just high on mining the 1st time.  Would be epic to post this in "post your mining setup" thread of it hashing away in your living room.

899  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is it possible to "work" as a gambler and live off the profits? on: July 23, 2013, 04:44:40 AM
1)  "I make x amount per day doing x -EV gamble"  - no, you are not a pro and you will most certainly lose

2) "poker is unbeatable" - wrong, it is extremely beatable.  Just play the main event each year - massive edge, huge variance.  Just play drunk ppl at 1-2NL all over Vegas - extremely beatable, relatively boring & repetitive, beatable by a medium-skilled player for $10-$20/hr in 2013 playing at major casinos on "drunk nights" aka Thurs-Sun each week.

3)  Beating sports - it is done by very few - and I mean very fucking few.  Google Billy Walters.  Google Haralobos Voulgarious Proly gotta spellcheck those.   These 2 kill it.  A handful of others beat it.  Millions claim to know their shit and lose each week.

4) "beating poker knowing something no one else knows"  see:  Ben Lamb, Chance Kornuth, Jared Bleznick in PLO.  See Shaun Deeb in Open Face.
900  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is it possible to "work" as a gambler and live off the profits? on: July 21, 2013, 10:21:42 PM
I am a professional gambler and entrepreneur.

These days I'm more business than gambling, but I made a living both gambling and running businesses since I left college.  I am 34 and only held a "real" job for ~1 year lifetime.   I bought a BMW in 2006 after winning ~$250k at the WSOP.   I had a losing year in 2009.

I cannot call myself strictly a professional gambler as I've always engaged in a business aspect while playing poker.   in 2001-2 when I started really concentrating hard on poker, everyone was terrible.  And I mean terri-bad super-awful.    The game is still beatable today, but you need to be a shitload sharper than when I started.  You need to utilize all the tools that made everyone much better - you need to review tons of instructional video - you need to change your game and test new theories - you will need to bust a shit ton of tourney stacks to figure out a winning formula.

You will need a bankroll, you will need to follow BR management requirements (which you won't), and you will need to game select so you are only playing in beatable games.

Poker is really good each year during the WSOP.  The tourneys are amazing, the cash games are even better.  the other 10.5 months you will need a solid gambling grind.  Florida live poker is hot right now so I hear.

There are so many reasons why you shouldn't start down this path.  Biggest reason is that there are so many other things you could do with your life.  If the game grabs you like it grabbed me, if you keep records and prove to yourself you can do it, if you are young or if no one else depends on you - then I say do what you love.

I'd approach gambling for a living with extreme caution and try and ease into it as gradually as possible.

this is way more rambling that I intended but I feel there is a lot of truth in there and I'm not editing today during the BIG BTC.  If anyone has Q's they can ask, google Bryan Micon if you don't believe me.
