521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XRA] RateCoin | PoS | Unique Generous Rewards | Low Supply Inflation on: August 24, 2015, 11:43:48 PM
Hey I noticed that there's this product called the Stakebox, and they already support RateCoin.
.
http://stakebox.com/FAQ

interesting idea, and certainly a nice web UI, but I don't see much (any) mention of further support for wallet updates once purchased. So what happens when, for example, a coin issues a hard fork like what happened with XRA or MINT? Is the user left to figure out how to update the raspi themselves or does that company provide a means to easily drop in the updated wallet?

I don't know, I think it is relatively new and I was wondering the same thing.

They have a support page so would be good to ask about it, I only came across it less than an hour ago.

So sorry ladies and gentlemans ,do you know that, looks like paycon is on  his supported altcoins list

StakeBox is designed to be an energy efficient, cost effective way to store and stake your POS cryptocurrencies

http://stakebox.com/

i have found that on HyperCrypto Ann,

Oh wow, sounds like people are taking notice lol

The price for it is pretty reasonable, about $80 for 16 GB and $110 international.

Hey I also created a non-TOR branch with Multi-send GUI as I've had a few complaints that people were seeing more orphans as a result of the latency of TOR.

An event would be great. Las Vegas is the top convention site but it would need to be off strip. The strip has become unaffordable. But there are options just off strip with shuttle service to the strip.

I think it would have to be a private event, would have much more freedom. It would have to be done as cheaply as possible but an event itself doesn't cost that much if buying the drinks and food in bulk and preparing it yourself. I could handle food and preparing a menu, cooking for a large group is fairly straightforward.

Dry ice doesn't cost that much, maybe $1-3 per pound.

Maybe an announcers mic? $40 with shipping.

Custom T-Shirts? between $10-20 depending on complexity and order size.

Cheap kiloMegahash nom nom nom.....?

Scrypt.cc must be doing so well! I'm sure they must have gotten an upgrade to have four times the amount of hashpower than the Litecoin/Dogecoin network.

Fun fact! If you had that many Scrypt miners, the mining center would be the size of a city block.

as far as torrenting goes. it seems you need to get yr torrent program to turn it into a public torrent .
so you would just copy the blk0001.dat -> EXCLbootstrap.dat (or whatever) then turn it into a torrent.
i've never done it Smiley but i guess you'd have to add info etc.

otherwise if you have a server, you could copy the blk0001.dat -> EXCLbootstrap.dat (possibly adding a date or summat) onto a public server folder, then anyone can just look at the folder and ftp it or whatever.

alternatively use dropbox,
copy the .dat to yr local dropbox folder tehn dropbox can move the file to a public dropbox folder.

i run dropbox on the digital ocean vps to move files around, it's pretty handy.

.the next step would be to automate it, so it updates the bootstrap every couple of days or whatever.
then anyone could go to the public folders and download the latest or whatever is there.

--

taking those seeds out have sped up syncing time considerably. it's currently loading a block between 2 - 6 seconds or so. much quicker than before where i was honestly ready to leave it and worry about getting my coins later.

but a bootstrap would be quicker for sure Smiley

Just make the bootsrap script as a cronjob to then upload it to your own bropbox or as a torrent and hash the checksum into a Block (if you want it more secure) or to send the bootstrap checksum to some other server or place you could check it against.

Why do I see 50 and 100 BTC buy orders?

Do you realize how much hashrate is 6 million MH/s ?

That's ~4 times more than the total Scrypt hashrate in existence.

Hey you know that means that they've even violated their own TOS right? Since it states that members would be notified of changes.

The site is run like a registered security, I'm pretty sure you would only need to take a few things to their hosting providers...

So I was thinking we should do a PayCon event at some point and do some real world stuff. What if we hosted an event in Las Vegas, Nevada? What kinds of technical challenges can you see to do an event payable only in CON?

Guys is this accurate? Its from SCC calculator:

MHS:BTC/USD:BTC/MHS:Total MHS: 50000
Total Investment: 8.99950000 BTC ($2051.89 USD)

Daily Income: 0.66938807 BTC ($152.62 USD)
Monthly Income: 20.75103017 BTC ($4731.22 USD)

Break Even In: 13 Days.

Monthly Rate: 230.77%

It's not. Rewards can drop any time and any number of other calamities can happen too, haven't you learned anything?

If you want to gamble there are far more entertaining ways to do it.

Is it no longer called KHS but is now measured in MHS?

Monthly rate 230.77% LOL

Did anyone receive emails about this change and time to opt out?

lol @ auto-reinvest

Sell your "KHS" Coin and run as far as you can, you are totally fucked if you are putting money into this site.

This site is a SCAM

I have now 200k Paycon; I will never sell them before next year.

Little bits of buying and selling is good for the markets because the exchanges like to have lots of volume and aids in distribution.

I wonder whatever happened to craig... who I suspect was tankjnr I believe based on facebook that was tankjnr's first name. He held some big bags. Think he was the only real account in the top 10s.

Volder was "real" at least as real as a screen name can be. He has dropped into this thread a few times with details of stuff people were asking about.
Volder is here: https://twitter.com/TheVolder

Everyone thought Craig was fake until the emails came out.  It was mentioned that he was bidding on a prime controller or two with the new Paycoin.  Here is his paycoin address:  PAY1Hq8qT43yaamrr93a3kauu2effTEMim

So has volder come back to say sorry he was wrong and josh is a scumbag? should start a list of those that have apologized that they were wrong and bitcointalk, suchmoon etc were right. I suspect this list would be small... swallowing pride is hard

The ones that would are the ones that are less likely to get caught up in other scams.

Hey Crest is a memory leak in the wallet possible? My memory usage skyrocketed from a normal 330mb to 550mb today, i restarted it and it went back to 330.

Possibly, I had some trouble earlier on with a memory leak where it would read Staked Coins not yet eligible to Stake and added in mintablecoins but not 100% sure if that fixed the problem completely. Always looking into what kinds of improvements I can make to it. The specific area was in the miner.cpp and wallet.cpp where it should read once connected and on the highest chain to only read Coins past the minimum age.

tankjr was around the Gethashing forums but I doubt that if "craig" had some big bags and lost alot, he wouldn't be so social but could also be a puppet and/or in on it. Maybe it was mafia money? I read there were some angry people in the middle east.

All I am getting at here, is that people are wasting their time reporting the site to the Web Host.

The fact is there is a ToS, you did accept it by clicking Register, it is right under the Register Link, and to add to that if you read it, it basically states that, We are not liable to anyone for anything, you accepted ToS by clicking register.

Plus any host does their due diligence typically, and if they do, they will see the ToS and read it.  Which basically makes any of the complaints that are being tossed their way garbage.

Basically their terms of service states that they can do anything but can you violate it yourself? Do the rules apply both ways as well? and some mention about criminal activity in their jurisdiction so isn't running a HYIP an illegal gambling site? I've heard talks about XScrypt being some a website that was made with a bought Ponzi website script so then these types of sites would be illegal since the operator can just do whatever he likes, take a bit of KHS away if he likes, execute some auto-invest, delay payouts/not pay, delete you, keep your stash and make up any number he likes.

Per ToS.

IN ADDITION, YOU SPECIFICALLY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT IN NO EVENT SHALL SCRYPT.CC’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE PARTICULAR SERVICES THAT ARE THE SUBJECT OF THE CAUSE OF ACTION.
THE FOREGOING LIMITATION OF LIABILITY SHALL APPLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AND SHALL SURVIVE ANY TERMINATION OR EXPIRATION OF THIS AGREEMENT OR YOUR USE OF THIS SITE OR THE SERVICES FOUND AT THIS SITE.

INDEMNITY
You agree to protect, defend, indemnify and hold harmless SCRYPT.CC and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and third party service providers from and against any and all claims, demands, costs, expenses, losses, liabilities and damages of every kind and nature (including, without limitation, reasonable attorneys’ fees) imposed upon or incurred by SCRYPT.CC directly or indirectly arising from (i) your use of and access to this Site or the Services found at this Site; (ii) your violation of any provision of this Agreement or the policies or agreements which are incorporated herein; and/or (iii) your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any intellectual property or other proprietary right. The indemnification obligations under this section shall survive any termination or expiration of this Agreement or your use of this Site or the Services found at this Site.

MISCELLANEOUS
If We are unable to perform the Services outlined in the Terms of Use due to factors beyond our control including but not limited to an event of Force Majeure, change of law or change in sanctions policy we will not have any liability to You with respect to the Services provided under this agreement and for a time period coincident with the event.

MODIFICATION OF TERMS
SCRYPT.CC reserves the right to change, add or remove portions of these Terms, at any time, in an exercise of its sole discretion. You will be notified of any changes in advance through your Account. Upon such notification, it is your responsibility to review the amended Terms. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of a notice of changes to the Terms signifies that you accept and agree to the changes, and that all subsequent transactions by you will be subject to the amended Terms.

Sorry for the Caps in there, Direct Copy and Paste

Just Highlighting some of the Bigger Terms of Service people seem to forget about and or just plain didn't read because they couldn't find the ToS for whatever reason.  Or just plain too lazy to read it for themselves.

The TOS basically states that you are buying a digital commodity known as KHS (K-H-S, not KiloHash), and not indicative that it is mining at all or needs to on any pool Tongue

lol, you should use direct link with the image tags instead of just posting the link to the picture. When you upload pictures with postimg.org, as long it's under 1024 X 768 there will be an option that says "direct link", copy to clipboard and then paste it into your message, highlight it and then click on that little photo icon to wrap it in img tags to embed it.
