Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UNIWALLET OFFICIAL THREAD: a single wallet for all of your altcoins

Hello Guac, Finally someone is working on this!!! I have posted about same idea a while ago and was looking for programmers, but received little response. Here are my 2 quarks. This is how my original idea was different from yours : 1) Built-in auto-trading between currencies: a) the wallet would also have a decentralised torrent market, so that people can exchange Quarks for Primecoin or any other coin. b) If I have Quarks but the seller accepts only Namecoin, I can pay him that amount in Quarks and he will receive in Namecoins. 2) Plugin for Firefox, Chrome and all the major browsers. So that people can pay online or tip very quickly. Must have a very intuitive UI, so that average internet user can use it. 3) all the wallets should be routinely backed-up in the cloud, so that people don't loose ALL their money just because their hard drive crashes. 4) Mobile apps - so that people can use their phones instead of credit cards ...just enter the amount and and tap another phone; or just tap the till and confirm -and the money is paid. You might also want to contact the coin called "Kreditz" https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=396313.0;topicseen - it's a new coin in development but it will have a completely new type of wallet with loads of original features like routine payments like Direct Debit etc. You might want to join forces and collaborate. A word of warning, I would be very selective about which coins should be included by default. There are a lot of shit-coins and scam coins that have recently appeared. I'd include: Bitcoin, Quark, Litecoin, Peercoin, Anoncoin, Primecoin, Namecoin. The rest should write their own plugins if they have serious developers. Keep it up!!

I don't mean to "troll" because I'm new to Particles, but can someone please explain with bullet-points how exactly is Particle better than Quark? If the story of Quark's insta-mine is the main reason, with the same token I can point you at the way that a select few are mining Particles with those free Microsoft Azure trials, (it is mostly for American card holders. Doesn't work for UK and many other countries) thus already creating a seriously wide gap between miners even during the first days of the launch - which is not what mining is intended for if you read Satoshi Nakamoto's original white paper.
If anyone seriously thinks that Particle is better than Quark, then I'll sell you my Particles at the rate of 4PRT=1QRK (8,000Particles=2,000Quarks). It should be a great bargain for you, given that Quark's price is crashing right now. Anybody interested? PM me.

Thanks Xamda, I have about 15-20 different coin wallets and they all work fine together. I have disabled all of them to see if Particle would work, but alas. This Particle coin wallet was the most weirdest coin wallet because it came as a single .exe file (no .dll libraries) and I'm suspecting that this could one of the reasons. Another reason could be that this is just a half baked coin. The fact that it works on most computers does not validate this wallet. In order to make it a fair launch ,it should work on all computers. Indeed, I see from other posts that some other people are having problems syncing too. I have also ran this wallet on my old XP laptop -- same problem, doesn't sync.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [CLOSED] HUGE GiftCoin GIVEAWAY + What happened on launch day?!

"Great!" - I have been waiting for the launch, counting days, hours, minutes,in order to participate in my first ever coin launch, and when Giftcoin launches it is a big mess, and after spending 2 whole days on it, I come out with less than 30 Giftcoins.
Then I wait and wait for the promised giveaway from this unlucky coin, and after 2 hours have passed (and many hours more!!!) no giveaway is to be seen. Then when I finally see a giveaway, there is nothing.
VERY VERY disapointed!

HOW can I make my Wallet QT to sync up? I downloaded the Wallet. It is just the .exe file. I double click on it and the QT opens, but it is permanently showing "No block source available" 4 days behind. I created a particle.conf file in AppData/Roaming/Particle with the following lines in it: testnet=0 listen=1 maxconnections=100 server=1 daemon=1 rpcuser=user rpcpassword=pass rpcport=8776 rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 Restarted the wallet several times! But it is still not syncing up!!! PLEASE HELP! Did you try installing wallet on another computer? Like I answered you before, if you are having a miner on the same computer, I have experienced similar problems (I had those problems with GUI Miner and Litecoin wallet, but I believe they are pretty much the same). And if you have other wallets on same computer, are they working? If not (and even if they are), check your firewall settings to make sure your firewall isn't the problem. Hi, Thanks. I have no other computer. I have different miners and many different wallets on this Win 7 machine. All working perfectly fine. But this Particle QT wallet came as a single .exe file, which is unlike others - and it just refuses to sync. Firewall isn't the problem. Can you paste your particle.conf file please? Thanks!

Because of such "minor" mistake, this makes it a very unfair and failed launch!
I have waited for the launch for 2 days, and was here on the clock, waiting will all my gear setup. After hours of mining - nothing. While some got tens of thousands of GiftCoins within minutes.
The promised Giveaway (which is now 3 hours overdue) better be generous, with 1000 or 5000 GiftCoins per person, or else after tonight this coin's reputation will be forever tarnished!!!
If you agree, send GiftCoins here:

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Kreditz - Under development / PoW+PoS Currency

I fully agree with all the points made by MarcoTC!!! I have been in search of a perfect crypto-for-the-masses, and so far in my book Quark came closest. Here are my advices, with some elements of what I would envision the perfect coin: * Look into the Future! * Make sure the coin is distributed as evenly and as widely as possible. Right now any Fiat represents more equality of wealth than any Crypto! This the greatest problem that cryptos haven't been able to solve. One way to achieve this is to make each wallet come with "frozen" 10,000 Kreditz, and as people mine and spend over a very long time, the more of those frozen credits will become available. Kinda like inheritance that matures. Also these Kredits can mature faster if they invite other people who reference them. Each wallet can be installed on a device only once (need to have checks against cheating) maybe it integrates with the cloud wallet or some kind of algoithm that creates a unique numeric identifier key from reading (but not storing) a fingerprint. * Make the mining CPU only - available to the masses. * Make the mining as an optional tab in the wallet and so that even grandmas can mine! and choose how many percent of their CPU power they wanna give. If they know that this is what powers the network, many people will easily give 5-10% of their CPU power for free. * Make it the fastest coin possible. So that people and machines can use it as an everyday currency. * Make it as secure as possible. (Quark) * Make it as Anonymous as possible maybe take some features from Anoncoin. * Have a tiny controlled annual inflation built into the system, like Quark. * the Wallet GUI should be beautiful (example Earthcoin, CasinoCoin) and PRACTICAL * transactions should have messaging and attachments * escrow * if you want to create a coin for the future, think Economics and not just code. This guy highlights some serious economical flaws of Bitcoin http://youtu.be/W-sfd9jen1A These are some of my points. I know, looking way into the future. There are more points, but that'll do for now. (Maybe I just need to team up with a programmer and create my own coin)
