1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The biggest problem of altcoins on: August 31, 2018, 09:02:08 PM
The biggest problem with altcoins is that the bandwidth of the Ethereum's network is 20 operations per second. This is already very little.

Yes that is indeed very little, but also Ethereum is scaling up, there will be an update coming called Constantinople that uses some binary technique to be able to use a lot more computing power...I am no engineer but it sounded very compelling to me.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Bitcoin go below 6K? on: August 31, 2018, 08:59:54 PM
I know that many people and experts predict bitcoin will even go down to 4k or 3k. I don't know where these people get their numbers from...we have never even see such prices for the entire year...the lowest was 5k and it came back quickly from there
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will other coins beat bitcoin in the future? on: August 31, 2018, 08:56:55 PM
bitcoin will never come down because with a little bit of inventory, bitcoin will become a rare coin, and with its scarcity it will continue to soar, and every satosi value will mean a lot in the future, then hold it if you have it don't get it, release it.

If scarcity is the only point than that is not very convincing for me. With every fork you double the amount of token available, and while it might not be the exact same thing, the forks like Litecoin or Bitcoin Cash are very similiar to the original chain.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do not invest now , wait on: August 31, 2018, 08:55:04 PM
I do not agree with you, for a long time we see that market is pretty stable. Altcoins and Bitcoin are not falling. They are on a same price, this could be considered as a bottom. So, I think that this is the best moment for buying crypto Wink.

I also think we approached pretty much the bottom and it's good times to get in, as long you don't go into ICOs or super small caps, people have too much fear right now and not touching these...so you would probably end up loosing more
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH VS EOS on: August 31, 2018, 08:53:08 PM
Recently, bitcointalk saw the most posts discussing EOS and ETH. EOS was born to challenge ETH. Do you agree with this statement? What are they fighting for? Technology or speed? Or is it the dominance of the cryptocurrency world? Friends, come here to talk about your thoughts and knowledge!

Those coin that has popularity can win the money of their investors as more investors will buy if their coins has huge trading volume plus to add the adoption of their product. I think ETH is still far ahead for EOS. Maybe in 2 more years we can see any good match-up of this coins.

I also think it will take a lot of time for EOS to get to the same stage as Ethereum, or even overtake it. The tech seems convincing but you need also to convince the developers that seem to build solutions primarily on Ethereum...NEO was also regarded as a Ethereum killer as it is faster and easier to develop...yet very few projects run on this platform.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The biggest problem of altcoins on: August 31, 2018, 08:50:33 PM
The biggest problem with altcoins is that it can't stop those scams. There is currently no effective regulation for scams, so investors easyly to be deceived. Real projects will also be lost money because of many scams, so that the price performance in the market is not ideal.
scam happen everywhere, trust me, even the regulated ones like initial public offering (IPO) sometimes being used to scam people and as a money grabber.
It's just really hard to prevent such thing from appearing since there's some people that always have bad intention so better watch yourself. If im being honest, other fundraising method like kickstarter and crowdfunding impose the same risk.

I agree that other investment opportunities bear similar risks despite having limited or zero transparency. I invested in a startup and it is hard to engage with the CEO directly, similar case with kickstarter or other platforms...in crypto you can talk directly to the team and many CEO likes the one at Sparkster or Oyster will respond to you, they engage with their community directly.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: altcoins are dying on: August 31, 2018, 08:47:40 PM
what do you think about altcoin,do you think is the time to buy? am afraid because all my money is heading to zero.. Angry Angry
Actually not only you that your coins or money goes to zero. Ill think all of us in here same situation but we need to trust that altcoins be back again into a high prices so we need to wait until going up again.

Very true, nothing is heading to zero apart from worthless projects with no development and products, these deserve to disappear from the market If you made good investments in the right projects you don't have anything to fear except fear itself.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Strategy on: August 31, 2018, 08:45:56 PM
Regarding diversification I like to add something I learned listening to the stock market investor O'Leary recently. Never have more exposure to one market than 20% (for instance crypto) and never invest more than 5% in on single entity (i.e. EOS)
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2018 is not a very prosperous year for cryptocurrency on: August 31, 2018, 08:43:36 PM
Hey guys, I just wanted to share. I've observed and read many articles too regarding this topic and I would like to hear your opinion regarding this. Do you think that the cryptocurrency market is on a downward trend? Would altcoins be following this trend as well? Since Jan 2018, the market of crypto had been moving up and down way too much in a very short period of time. Do you think it is possible for an entity to manipulate the market so big?

Crypto market is often like this, and this should not be discussed anymore. Crypto provides benefits by fluctuating market prices, this must be done to balance prices, provide benefits even though it is also detrimental. Believe me, that the official stock exchange always goes up and down in price.

True, the endless discussion about when the bull market comes back, if ever, do not change anything. If you want to make a difference than just get more active in crypto, doesn't mean you are trading. Just try to buy your goods with crypto and the volume goes up. I try to buy everything with crypto, you can find alternatives if you look out for them.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Oyster Pearl (PRL) - Buy now for easy profit on: August 16, 2018, 06:35:44 PM
Small caps got all hurt, Oyster a little more than others, despite a lot of good news and development progress. Main net release, working product with some limitations, but compared to six months this should be worth a lot more. However prices rarely reflect the fundamentals in crypto. I also see a great future for this one and the team has enough capital to ride through the storm.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2018 is not a very prosperous year for cryptocurrency on: August 16, 2018, 06:25:34 PM
That's right, 2018 is a difficult year for the cryptocurrency. Nearly the end of the year, the value of most of the coin in the top 20 of the world's strongest cryptos has fallen sharply. At present, their value has not increased.
In 2017 i was so stupid that i thought the hype will continue and bring crypto to a more mass adoption.
And here we come the bubble is popped.
I think it will be very difficult to climb back to the ATH again if there is no hype like it was anymore, and also there are so many bagholders who are ready to dump their bags if the price increases a bit.

I think a majority were victim of the same belief, me also. It just looked to good, the fundamentals were strong, it felt like crypto is taking over the world. In the end all you can do is try to learn from it and try to be more cautious next time. Don't believe the hype, don't trust your own emotions, just act under pure logic and take profit as often as possible when in bubble territory.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Strategy on: August 16, 2018, 06:19:49 PM
If you think you have a good strategy that remove all the risk then I think you should follow this with your own gut feelings.

I would try to do the opposite than to follow your gut feelings, this has already cost more people money than anything. People skip the research and hard work and just follow the generell sentiment, buy after a period of double digit green when indeed would be the time to sell. Fomo is also something that is a result of that. It's the opposite of a strategy.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: altcoins are dying on: August 16, 2018, 01:35:07 PM
People need to relax more, after every dip it‘s time again for doomsday scenarios. Yes it is tough after a half year in the bear market but if this market is too extreme or volatile for someone then I recommend to better invest in stocks or commodities like precious metals. You won‘t mak the same gains as in crypto but also not nearly the same losses.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The biggest problem of altcoins on: August 16, 2018, 01:27:10 PM
....is their complete dependancy of Bitcoin. It really takes all the fun out of crypto trading.

No matter what kind of awesome progress some altcoins make....it doesn't change the trend upwards if Bitcoin doesn't allow it.

Pump and dump groups I also blame. Because of them I'm very positive that Bitcoin won't make it past 30 000 this year. 50 000 to 80 000 would be realistic without pump and dump groups dominating and controlling the prices.

Anyways, these things have to change somehow. The first altcoin developers who claim their absolute freedom from Bitcoin will be the real winners of this crypto game.

One of the biggest problems in altcoins is the ability for its sustainability of the business to deliver the investors and stakeholders with the expectations it promised during the ICO of their project. Thus, people felt being cheated and would probably leave the market; further, the market price of that altcoin will surely decrease. The realization of everyone is that ICO projects seemingly inconsistent as to being profit oriented. Somehow the reason is subjective. But we cannot lay the facts that it might be true...However, it may prove true if no one realized a profit. Thus, everyone gets profit, so as to prove an assumption - it would be difficult.

I also noticed many projects create unrealistic expectations and are often not able to meet aggressive milestones in the roadmap. Also many projects don‘t have rhe experience, expertise and connections in the market as it is their first shot at blockchain. Of course this is nowhere highlighted and often investors are mislead about this too
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH VS EOS on: August 16, 2018, 01:20:28 PM
EOS has developed a lot of new technology this year..Processes done in EOS are approved in about 1.5 seconds and 600 transactions can be done in 1 second..This figure is quite good when we think that the process done in Ethereum is 15 in 1 second..But EOS is far behind Ethereum on security..This makes Ethereum a better option for us.

It is the first time I read that EOS is far behind Ethereum in terms of security. Would be great if you could expand on that a bit, like what areas in security Ethereum is currently superior compared to EOS. As a matter of fact everything I read about EOS indicates it is a ahead of Ethereum, the only red flag appears to be the centralisation...
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do not invest now , wait on: August 16, 2018, 01:15:20 PM
This is the golden rule i can say.

= wait till September mid and Enter to purchasing tokens

= now market correction is going on , so all prices going down and scam projects going to hell now

=Recommended to you Ziliqa and Quarkchain invest on those periods

=Do not invest ICO's too , even the best ico not perform very well now. example is sentinel protocol also not given the ICO prices even

=now one market circle finished , 2nd market circle comes on September on words( may be change)

=if you already invest , its better to keep in TUSD.

Do your own research too , i need to maximize the everyone's wealth.

Thanks

The market is back in low state again , I think it is a good time to start an investment in cryptocurrency so when September comes where every coins goes pump you have enough investment to rely on and because of that you can earn a good profits

Most likely September will be a good month, people are back from vacation and eagercto trade crypto currencies. Also there are some key events like the SEC decision about ETFs. Even if it gets delayed again, we should see a nice rally in the weeks before like it was the case last time
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will other coins beat bitcoin in the future? on: August 16, 2018, 01:10:31 PM
It is difficult to answer this question unambiguously. Because no one knows what the future holds. After all, this year no one knew how much the market will fall down. So to judge the most promising coins, which surpass BTC I don't see the point. I still believe that the first place has always been and will remain for BTC. Then there is ETH, and only then all the rest of the coins. Therefore, if there is extra money, then invest in these coins. If capital is not enough, then invest in NEO, ADA, EOS or XRP.

I also think it has no point to discuss which coin will be Nr. 1 vs Nr. 2 in xyz months/years. I personally think Ethereum has stronger fundamentals but history has shown that branding is often more relevant than tech. I also think next to BTC and ETH the next gen blockchains NEO, EOS and ADA are a very solid portfolio with minimal risk and still overall string growth persoectives. Better be a bit diversified than betting on a single horse.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will other coins beat bitcoin in the future? on: August 07, 2018, 08:06:46 PM
I believe that in the future there will be a coin that is able to implement a very large plan. Overtake bitcoin, increase payment processing speed, with minimum Commission, and high throughput up to 1 million transactions per second. That's when bitcoin will take a back seat.

I also think sooner or later this could happen. The limitations around transaction speed and costs are not very obvious right now, but that is not due to lightning but rather the super low volume. I used bitcoin for a payment few days ago and only paid 15cents. But this won't stay like this forever. I still remember the frustrations of people last yesr when it took days for transactions to get confirmed.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do not invest now , wait on: August 07, 2018, 08:02:22 PM
your point on ICO's maybe correct but for me for the existing coins, i believe this is a very good time to buy. All of them are in a very low price if you can manage to secure more of them in a very low price what you can do is to hold and secure a big volume of quantity of potential coins. You must consider the time span if you will be waiting till september. For me it's not a big deal to endure paper losses that succeeding month as long as you can wait when the prices are on up trend.

I tend to think the same. We have been at these levels before and thought thus is a great shopping time and we will soon ICO like returns but it never happened. The recoveries turned out to be bull trapps. But this time the fundamentals are really strong. We have little fud and many positive news and they are just not reflected in the prices yet.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Bitcoin go below 6K? on: August 07, 2018, 07:58:37 PM
I don't think so but if it goes below 6400$ definitely the price of bitcoin will reach more than 9500$ this time. Wait patiently how far people are reacting to the bitcoin price. Because we have seen many ups and downs in the market and this makes us wait until the price of bitcoin starts increasing.

possible.

it can go down to 5000 dollars. and i think after this fall. btc will go up 10000 dollars and stay in there.

Of course it is possible, just let someone hack binance or any other big exchange. But I also think it is rather unlikely. In fall we probably are finally back rallying to new highs after the approval of ETFs. This is not a given either but I think there is a much higher chance. And once fresh money is coming into the market...boom.
