1  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Selling a product with BTC inside it on: June 18, 2014, 12:34:51 AM
Thanks DeathAndTaxes... you live up to your name.

It sounds like everyone that wants to sell Bitcoin that isn't through a service is breaking the law isn't following their guidance.  That would mean all the people using localbitcoin or trading coins at meetups are criminals.

Also, what about coin dealers?
2  Bitcoin / Legal / Selling a product with BTC inside it on: June 14, 2014, 12:47:49 AM
I'm struggling to understand the laws regarding selling a product with BTC embedded in it (like casasious coins).  It seems he changed his model after a letter from FINCEN:

http://www.wired.com/2013/12/casascius/

However, I still see people and coin dealers selling his coins on eBay.

If I make a collectible product, embed a private key inside and sell it, do I have to register as a MSB in the US?  What if the amount is small compared to the item's value?

Thanks.

^Ditto, Url shorteners are good for twitter type, but they completely obfuscate the destination trojan waiting on the other end. Not worth the risk...

bit.ly link gone.

LOL! False advertising. Should read "in about 5 days".

It takes two minutes to do the act.  I pay at once for efficiency.

BTW-- You seem to have a beef with something.  If it's not for you, kindly move along so as not to ruin it for everyone sir.

ixquick.com works fine for this old man

ixquick.com is a single search engine that works off an index.  Research estimates that no index (even google's) contains more than 1% of the data on the internet... this is called the deep web conundrum.  The data is deep inside databases, most of which power smaller sites and vertical search engines.   The problem is that it's difficult to identify and search these effectively.  This is where Boounce comes in.  We attempt to identify topical search engines and help you leap through their results very quickly.  We even embed them inside your Google/Bing serp if you don't want to open the toolbar.

BTW-- ixquick.com is something you can add to Boounce... just right click on the search field (provided you have Boounce installed).  You can also share it with others in the Boounce community.

I checked it out just now as well and don't see the point in needing to download software when an Addon works just fine. Tongue

Also, https://bitly.com/jAlroc+ link = http://www.boounce.com/?f=troy

Not sure I follow.  Boounce is an addon for Google and Chrome. You can get it from the Firefox/Chrome galleries or from our website.
I take it back, the only thing that worries me is:

As far as advertising for this goes, I don't see anything wrong...but, I usually only advertise something if I use it myself.

This is from the Chrome Gallery. It seems a little scary, but it's really not the case.  Boounce will recommend additional sites to search based on your current location or sites you are searching.  For example, if you are searching for a Movie in Hulu we recognize that and allow you to perform the same search on Netflix, castTV, etc. (with on click).   Also, Boounce suggests alternative sites without contacting our server or tracking you.  This was difficult to do. We actually store the site data on your computer.  This also speeds things up.

Don't do bit.ly any more.

Post the actual link and I'll consider it.

EDIT

Just looked at Boounce.com

Not downloading anything just for search capabilities.

Don't bother fixing the link.

Using bitly just for stats.

Boounce is more than search.  "Boouncing" is a way to leap through and search every site you go to.   So, if you are looking for consumer reviews on a product, you can leap through the search results of epinions, alatest, goodguide, consumerreports, etc. with the same search term.  Here's a video (not bitly'd) to get the idea...

I hope you try it, we worked hard on it

15  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Earn .5 BTC to share a browser add-on with your FB friends. on: July 14, 2011, 02:51:39 AM
btw, you should probably remove the search term a boounce user uses.

theres some illegal searches going on that are being broadcasted on your main page heh..

Thanks.  We actually have filters, but they get smarter the more people that use it.  We should probably filter the torrent searches too.

Feedback: I personally find it useful due to the fact it is pretty much an all-in-one toolbar for Search Engines. Although, I suggest that you add Yahoo (general searches, not only Music) and/or Ask.com as those are also very popular SE's. Also, your website is actually neat, ha. Continue this project and hopefully I'll hear about "Boounce" in the future. Wink

We actually have two groups... the "search" group, which is the default group.  The "search engine" group contains yahoo.  We initially weeded out duplicate results between Google, Bing, and Yahoo, but when Yahoo started pulling results from Bing you ended up with no results on Yahoo or Bing Sad. Hence, we moved Yahoo off the default search group.

You are right about Ask. Just added Ask back to the main search group. It will publish in the next push.  Thanks for the feedback.

Payment sent.
