Thank you for the welcome guys

I went to Manchester once.  Couldn’t tell the difference from London to be honest.  Now Glasgow on other hand - that’s rough.

Lol the year 1788.

We had to lock up all the convicts then and we have had to lock up all the Victorians again this week.
346  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 01, 2020, 05:19:36 AM
It’s a bit like 1788 really

You know what shits me about Bitcoin ?

It goes up fast and then slowly falls.

We spend 90% of the time falling in price.

Bear take the stairs. Bulls take a rocket.

There is no option for rebuying in the inevitable post bull crash.  I will sell half (again) but will rebuy (again) in the depths of the inevitable winter.

The goal sooner or later is to pass the last ATH, until this happens it would be very cautious.

I’m 85% BTC, 15% USD. The only real question over the next 18 months is when to convert the remaining USD to BTC

Here is another video of the man who was pushed over backwards by the police and cracked his head.

It turns out that he had picked up a dropped police helmet and went to hand it back to them....  that’s when they pushed him over

Here is a homeless man in a wheelchair.

He was not participating in the demonstration.  He was just there.

However the LAPD have decided to shoot him in the face with a rubber bullet at close range.

This is not a nice thing to do.  This is not what normal police officers do.  As one police chief explains:

Quote
According to the Trace, the Minneapolis Police Department’s use-of-force policy strongly advises against pointing 40 mm launchers — which are used to deploy rubber bullets, beanbag rounds, and sponge rounds — above a person’s lower extremities. The policy also acknowledges that the projectiles can cause “grievous” injuries, and in some cases, death. Rubber bullets should be used only to control “an extremely dangerous crowd,” Brian Higgins, a former police chief, told Kaiser Health News.

Bonus picture. A 15 girl is sitting on the ground blinded by pepper spray.  So a cop casually walks up to her and kicks her in the face.

Some of you may consider the cop to be a hero for kicking a seated girl in the face. I don’t.

They are not the same.

George Floyd is dead.

Martin Gugino is in a serious but stable condition.

I was talking about the differences in brutality, gratuituous violence, and, above all, intentionality. Even if both were alive, or dead. Not even talking about if one is black or white, younger or older, healthy or ill. Just the difference in the cops actions. For me, at least, they are miles apart... as much as to call one an accidental injury vs a (probably) intentional murder.

In criminal law, you are taken to intend the consequences of your actions.

Of course the US police are shielded from such culpability, but that shield is part of the problem.

There is no doubt that the police in the US have a very difficult job but injuring and killing civilians for no good reason makes their job harder, not easier.

The Buffalo Police Union boss says that the 75 year old was injured because he “tripped and fell”.

In fact he did, right after he was simply pushed away. It was clearly an accident, not intentional (the fall nor the injury), even though he should have had more sense than to confront in any way an anti-riot unit that has orders to clear the place. With a curfew already in effect.

This only serves as a distraction to the clear MURDER of George Floyd.

He was backing away when he was shoved hard in the middle of the chest.

I’ll make you a deal.  We will rerun the scene.  You back away slowly and I will shove you hard in the middle of the chest.  We will do it five times.  I will give you a dollar for every time you do not hit your head on the concrete.

We will disregard the fact that you are not 75 years old and on chemo, and that it isn’t a surprise to you.

This happened during a protest against police brutality.  This is police brutality.  It is directly on point.

ACAB

Not all of them.  Just 57 of them in Buffalo.

The Buffalo Police spokesman says that the 75 year old was injured because he “tripped and fell”.

Quote
A Buffalo Police spokesman issued a statement at 8:50 p.m. Thursday saying "a 5th person was arrested during a skirmish with other protestors and also charged with disorderly conduct. During that skirmish involving protestors, one person was injured when he tripped & fell."

Yeah one should always walk up to an army of cops and get your hands very close to one of their pistols. Good idea. My parents taught me to do exactly that.

Good job it was filmed for BBC and CNN's daily cop bashing headlines though. Top job of that cameraman.

Look at those defenseless police officers.
