1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 17, 2014, 05:52:17 PM

photo storage

Well I thought I was ok with 2 PSU with stock AWG16 pci-e cables.

Above pic was from Strider 1200 Gold with stock AWG16 cables. It was running 2 of my 4 KNC Titan cubes.

it is pics like this that make me wonder if I should just put the Titan up on ebay unopened in box as in hand and just sell it

currently $4,800 usd seems to be the price for such according to ebay when I looked today

frigging take the $$$ put it in bitcoin and pray it all works out....

and remember I am a LEGAL miner in the USA (due to bank error had to prove I was legit and biz took 1 day but had to file to be on the up and up)

I CAN get 1/4 of my 10,131.80 purchase price back of $2532.95 back over 5 years according to 2013 irs guidelines (computer equip)

but lately looking at this crap even if I got it and it only mined half assed (say 1/4 purchase price back mining) and the above...it prob would not amount

to more then 4.8k anyway ..so why go thru all that angst to get to the same boat plus elec of around $140 usd a month at 1300w at 0.15c/kwh

KNC is going to fight this in court till the 'heat death of the universe" to protect their reputation to get arctic cloud class A and B big $$$ investors

this is also imho why no one ..coindesk ..the rest of btc press...or lawyers don't want to fight KNC they will never 'settle' thus no easy $$ for a class
action or such

with a 90 day warranty..and from the lack of effort getting the Titans fixed...(look at the git hub archives on knc firmware have done zip)

they are just gonna get them out the door 1/2 assed working imho ...tell you to RMA if you don't like it (with email saying they have no idea when
you get the cube(s) back ...and basically wait for the 90 day warrenty to wind down and walk

nothing makes sense otherwise.....with no refunds and the you are a business defense (and no replies to email if you ever send them and email saying you want
a refund ..good luck on RMA then)...they are just letting the rubber band wind down 90 days....and then they will wash hands of the works completely

remember with BTC down ..them working on 16mm for their actic cloud..the danger to not getting investors class A and class B on said farm and the rest

no frigging way..they will fight this till their last breath...thus the lack of swedish lawyers and others that will touch this...

i just see no way we can get redress in time with their 90 day warrenty and just stonewalling....by them..they have all the cards it seems ....pressure
via PR or the press or whatever does not matter......they MUST protect their class A and class B investors and say we are full of it....at current BTC
prices..they likely are not doing too hot at that end either

hope I am completely wrong but nothing seems to be breaking our way ......indeed the equip looks crappier (likely won't last past 90 days) and they
already have been deleting my posts on knc forums and threatened to ban me for spreading FUD as they put it...

(i asked if 90 warrenty could be started after they got the firmware stable.....sheesh.....that is gonna get me the threat of banning ..i've said worse on there)

so it is all about $$$ they plain ass probably don't have any to give back and are likley plain ass scared if they admit failure it would put their arcitc cloud

big boy investors on edge

nope unless there is some Swedish equiv of FTC or some such that steps in ...they will play this out till the 90 days wind down and walk w/o something
like that...they have no reason at all do worry about our efforts

again I really hope I'm full of it...the more we squeak (even reasonable how long to RMA when does the 90 day TOS change started etc) they just clamp

down harder...if they had any sense at all they would close down their forums completely only NON reply via email and isolate us all (expect that soon imho)

Selling it on Ebay is probably the path to the smallest loss
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 16, 2014, 07:32:18 PM
Bought 1 Titan. And in Q3 I find myself with... NOTHING.

Please sign up for the class action if you were a Titan customer:

http://kncclassaction.com

I'm skeptical that this attorney is ready for something like this. As far as I can find, she's only been practicing for 2 years and it's mostly traffic court. KNC with our millions may eat her alive.

I think soon there will be much hungrier wolves to take a bite

So they have been "tuning" Titan for 4-5 days now... I'm guessing this does not bode well?

This is now Q3. There are only 25 days left before Q3 end.

Is there any news when they are going ship Titan out?

In short, no.  Nothing official, save for the occasional canned updates showing progress.  I anticipate it will be October
6  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: September 06, 2014, 12:16:56 PM

So Josh having visited the BA factory in person confirms that BA is in fact mining with our hardware, nice.

This is a lie.

[8/13/2014 12:34:54 PM] Me: Who is BA?
[8/13/2014 12:34:55 PM] Joshua: Chip integration specialists!
[8/13/2014 12:34:59 PM] Joshua: Black arrow
[8/13/2014 12:35:01 PM] Joshua: minion
[8/13/2014 12:35:02 PM] Me: ah

[8/13/2014 12:35:32 PM] Joshua: but not the most ehtical
[8/13/2014 12:35:46 PM] Joshua: built a shit load of prospero 3's and are mining with the hardware
[8/13/2014 12:36:00 PM] Joshua: and gave chips to clients as compensation
[8/13/2014 12:36:08 PM] Joshua: who in turn, ofcourse has no where to other than technobit

[8/13/2014 12:37:01 PM] Joshua: which will devaluate minion because he sales at the bare minimum and always tries to undercut the market
[8/13/2014 12:37:14 PM] Joshua: and todays chip price for A1, $16
[8/13/2014 12:37:23 PM] Cust2: good lord.

You know you've hit rock bottom when the owner of AMT refers to you as 'unethical'
7  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: September 03, 2014, 05:08:19 PM
Someone please post this on ecointalk as well...

HAHA BA, your scrypt chip is already obsolete!
https://www.bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020140830074550960Um75pnzg06E3
3 watts at the wall same as yours, and $5 a MH!  They beat you before you even taped out!  Bitmain to the moon yet again while BA is left to wallow in their own cesspool of shit.

EDIT: And able to mine n-10, n-11, and n-12 lol BA your dead in the water

Do you really think they ever intended to produce a Scrypt miner?  I always figured it was pie in the sky
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 03, 2014, 02:35:21 PM
knccloud is selling 1TH/s for 6 months at $1995. It will never ROI, and who wants to buy it?

Bitmain now launches its own cloud mining service: https://www.hashnest.com/currency_markets/17/subscription

1GH/s at 0.00135BTC, at least there is hope of ROI (although it takes a long time)

the beauty of these schemes is that it doesn't even require the company to have or use any of their equipment.  The customer pays up front.  Payouts are made based on difficulty calculations through the life of the contract.  Since you can't ROI, the residual from the initial payment is simply kept as profit.  All the while, the company can hash away with it's private mining operation
9  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: August 29, 2014, 01:35:24 PM
whatever happened to the 'rent a minion'?  Have they even started hashing for people yet?
10  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: August 29, 2014, 11:47:48 AM
is this guy the owner of black arrow software ?
https://www.facebook.com/alex.sovu

According to the Articles of Association another user posted here, the name is certainly accurate. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=716310.0  There's a lot of interesting reading to be done about Black Arrow Software and their association with Alex Sovu who is rumored to have a reputation/background for fraud and scams according to this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=193129.msg2242650#msg2242650

You can see the past and present information of the directors of one of his other companies here, which is a matter of public record:
https://www.opencompany.co.uk/company/07035674/bbyte-ltd

It's interesting to note that his partner seems to have something of an identity crisis when it comes to her name, which includes both Cristina Iulia Ixari and Mrs Iulia Cristina Ixari.

see this page.

they have not denied to this point that this is the same guy:

http://portal.just.ro/300/SitePages/Dosar.aspx?id_dosar=30000000000012214&id_inst=300

I suspect his partner Iulia is now the BA 'customer rep' Julia.  According to those documents, she was sentenced to 3 years for her part.
11  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: August 27, 2014, 12:38:47 PM
I'll bet they renege on that promise, too - just like they're refusing refunds that they promised in March and April. They're out of money, because they spent it all to buy parts.

They'll probably give you 10% off their new scrypt miner, though, whose development they financed with our pre-order money.

I don't believe they're out of money.

They had issues with components, fine.  But that does not assure huge cost over-runs, unless they were stupid enough to buy all the backplanes, ASICS etc. without testing them, then that's their problem.

They said repeatedly that they funded most of this from sources other than pre-orders anyhow.

Based on the history of Alex Sovu, I believe they are simply making every attempt to keep the money, not that they do not have it.

Money could also have been paid out to investors already and that's why they are out of money.  That's their problem if that's the case, which they are trying to make ours.

Who knows where the money went, but I'm not buying their story that it all went to build parts.

Could they refund everyone that wants a refund at this point?  Probably not, because that would be everyone, but there is money there, I have no doubt.  They know if they start issuing refunds there will be a run on the bank so they're trying to screw everyone instead.

I would assume, that despite their comments about not being an investment firm, that they are speculating on the value of bitcoin and are holding all bitcoin payments hoping for a rise in value. The spiteful side of me wants the value to flatten further or even reduce. If they're doing this, I wonder if they have properly declared the btc payments received so far as corporate income, for tax purposes. Maybe a tax investigation is just what is needed.

It's certainly possible, but personally, I'm assuming this money is gone for good
12  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: August 27, 2014, 12:36:10 PM
For the people that do get their miners, is it profitable at this point?

NO

I used the mining calculator at BitcoinWisdom.
If you start mining today with 1.2 GH, the model shows that you will earn 0.9527 bitcoin up to 12/31/14.  At that point, electricity costs will be greater than the mining yield and your ROI will become negative.  At today's exchange rate, 0.9527 bitcoin is $486.9.  Personally, if I was faced with those numbers, I'd try to sell it quickly on Ebay, and perhaps lessen the loss somewhat.  It sucks to pick the losing horse, but it happens to all of us

Date   Difficulty   Revenue   Profit   Return
2014            0
8-28 – 8-31 (4 days)   23844 M   0.08629   0.08456   0.08456

they have no incentive to produce working miners.  Every successful product that gets accepted is just in competition with their datacenter
14  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: August 21, 2014, 08:46:59 PM
BA just sent me an update about my refund I requested in April.

"As per Management’s update, we cannot afford to send refunds as we've spent all money to purchase parts required to build the miners. If we cancel your order we have nothing to do with the cases, power supplies and other goods that have been manufactured just for your order. For this reason it is difficult for us to refund everything.

We would like to offer to ship you ASICs instead and we can dispatch them immediately.
We exchange 120 ASICs for 1 x3 or 7 ASICs for 1 x1. Note that should you choose this option you are forfeiting the compensation previously announced.

Kindly let us know what you prefer so we can proceed immediately, thank you.

Sincerely,
Sylvia"

even though they said on 12th of june...

"The refund can be done only after we ship 1st batch of the hardware not early, as money collected are not just kept in bank account, but spent for the production.

We understand your concerns also your situation, and be assured that all efforts to expedite everything and I would ask you kindly to wait until we ship our devices 1st batch which is not far off from now and then your refund can be issued.

Please feel free to contact us anytime for further questions, thank you.

Best Regards,
Sylvia"

How can they tell me that they are going to refund me and then not, this company manages to stun me every time.

Because they are either bankrupt or a scam
15  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: August 21, 2014, 08:43:45 PM
I received my miner as well and its hashing great.

The fans are loud.  But the miner is hashing stable.

The rack mount ears are great!!

Was it worth $6,000 you paid for?

I'm still waiting for additional miners to compensate me for the $6,000 I paid for back in December.  It's been 6 months already since the promised ship date of February and I do not have ROI.

Welcome to the gold rush.  just get the gold you can get before its all gone.

They say the only ones who make money off a gold rush are the ones selling stuff to the miners.  Seems pretty apt

All I know for sure is that the money I paid over 8 months ago is gone and that I have received nothing in exchange.

I've written it off as a total loss at this point

Sad to see that DRK is going nowhere.

Unfortunately (and the main problem of this coin), most of DRK supporters doesn't have the money to keep the price a float because almost everybody here that call idiots and ignorant to potential investors(with few exceptions) just have a false sense of power when they got hundreds of DRK for nothing. They don't understand what is the meaning of capital loses because they put real work/money/values at risk.

For those that paid good amount of money/time, my advice is to sell as soon as possible. It will go down very hard this week. (I'm trying to do that with huge loses again).

Looks like it's about to fall below $6
