Any news concerning nicehash?
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Antminer X3 -- 220KH+ Cryponight - 550W on: May 20, 2018, 02:53:33 PM
Did not notice a thing. I am running at 60% fan speed and 550MHz.

Did that update. I can not set fanspeed
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer B3 Bytom Mining First review on: May 19, 2018, 09:16:44 PM

Hi Guys, I have a B3 as well. I am glad that it has a new firmware and we can set the fanspeed....

Did I miss that? Where can I set that?
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Antminer X3 -- 220KH+ Cryponight - 550W on: May 19, 2018, 03:18:26 PM

I think most X3 are shipped with 4-11 and 4-12 is the newest.

Whats the changelog though?
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Antminer X3 -- 220KH+ Cryponight - 550W on: May 19, 2018, 02:35:50 PM
Thanks guys!! So there was an updste. But no changelog...
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer B3 Bytom Mining First review on: May 19, 2018, 02:18:48 PM
I think first the upgrade and then the update
...

I did it the other way round now. Like listed on page. First firmware, then fix. Works too. But changing the frequency would be a good improvement too.

Do we first flash the fan fix or the firware upgrade?
290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Antminer X3 -- 220KH+ Cryponight - 550W on: May 19, 2018, 11:32:44 AM
There is one firmware file at Bitmains download page for the X3. Is it the release version? How do we compare installed firmware version and download file version?

Works great so far. Hashrate is up in the air!
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer B3 Bytom Mining First review on: May 13, 2018, 03:16:13 PM
I use baikal miners. No self made ones.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer B3 Bytom Mining First review on: May 13, 2018, 12:16:41 PM
I am mixing. I have both in my farms. ASICS are fine because they are more easy and stupid and have faster ROI in general.
I started with GPUs but added some ASICS and FGPA as soon as some profit was generated.

So to be honest, I am a bit disappointed about the whole Bytom thing. Paid 2800$ with customs etc. and the performance / profit is not as expected because of the fact they shipped much more units than they initially told.
35 Bytom for about 36h mining. Thats not even 20$ (today). Will keep the coins and see. But I expected double profit at least the first days. But it seems others got their unit way earlier, although i got Batch 1 (Germany).

Here is the next one:
Hanging miner? Hashrate dropping? Pool shows dead?
Restart the miner every 12 or 8 hours by crontab to avoid problems:

Log in to terminal with login "baikal" and pass "baikal".
Besides: "sudo reboot" reboots manually if you prefer to do it manually when needed.
Warning: some times the webinterface hangs and you need to power off and on again (not very often but happens).

To reboot automatically:
Type "sudo crontab -e", chose nano.
Add lines at bottom:
0   00   *   *   *   /sbin/reboot
0   08   *   *   *   /sbin/reboot
0   16   *   *   *   /sbin/reboot
(Add space by pressing tab.)

This will reboot miner at 00, 08, and 16 o clock.
You can check if the reboot worked by checking the uptime. Simply type "uptime" in the console and it shows how long the miner runs.

Cheers

Hey guys. Is it normal that only the front fan runs at the beginning? Just plugged it in. Its very loud, I did not expect that since the low power consumption.

Regards

Yes mate, a few guys mentioned that they must have used S9 fans at full speed on these things and that they run quite well with the rear fan disconnected. Another dude replaced his fans with Coolermaster fans and his is cool and quiet.

Smiley

Thanks for the hint. Can you say which type of cooler they used? 4pin PWM? I am not at the farm right now and would like to order one since it seems a bit of an overkill what they have installed...

Try resetting / restoring the stock example pools in the backup section. Change the existing lines with pools with your new pools according to algorithm. Delete not needed lines with stock pools afterwards and save.

There is something I dont understand about this, maybe someone has a theory or can explain:
1.) Bitmain develops and builds CN ASIC.
Now:
2.a.) Bitmain (slowly or according to production) starts mining with them and difficulty rises.
or
2.b.) Bitmain just sells them and parallely mines with a certain amount because difficulty would increase to much?

In case 2.a. the miners go offline at bitmain and go later online at the customer. That should not increase difficulty.

In case 2.b. Bitmain would lose much profit. They could just mine as long as possible and keep the difficulty at an ASIC attractive profitable level and dont overproduce the ASICs.

So the problem in this case was that the devs forked away, right?

My question is, at what point do they decide to sell miners if there is no forking away?
