...snip... People always want something for nothing. May I ask how you accomplished enforcing one image per z9? did you add a remote service for disabling the miner if an image is used on more than one mac?
I'd prefer to stay on topic about Z9s and hashrates, but I can appreciate all curiosity there. I too would be curious. Thank you, Jason That's fine. I do not own or intend to own a Z9, so it doesn't bother me. I was just curious.

Contacted topic starter - prices look insane
does anyone want cheaper or free public version ?
I agree, they are insane. 1 ZEC per machine, or less in quantity to get 33% or more increase over factory clock, with near-immediate responses on inquiries and requests for help, for a machine that costs 31ZEC to import (including tariffs) to the US. 3% is entirely too much! Also, I have a pitchfork if you'd like. It is available for 0.25ZEC, free shipping. (Apologies, my sarcasm is running high pre-coffee...) -j People always want something for nothing. Efudd - Do you know if the Z9 has the same micro on the hash board as the z9 mini? Does it use the same 4(6) phase VRM? Would you be willing to give up some of that data So I don't have to go through the same disassembly process (I was about to do this then I saw your post)? ( the 2/3 batch z9 minis are current-limiting the hash boards)

How this guy scammed in 2018 is beyond me - this board has tons of posts and warnings about all the scams. There should have been an escrow set up to begin with.
There's no point in contacting local police. It took 2 years to get ahold of Trendon Shavers and he was the biggest scammer ever short of Mt Gox siphon.
Hopefully people only lost disposable money.
It happens because a new idiot is born every minute of every day.

What do you think.. MPH on autoswitch ZEC,ZEN,ZCL?.... Antpool on ZEC?.... Or ZEN on Zhashpro?... or just a single coin on MPH?.... I am stuck between all of these?...
It's really up to you man, whichever coin you believe in most. However you should note that a few other folks in I think this thread have said that MPH Autoswitch doesn't seem to be nearly as profitable as expected and that mining coins directly seems better. Any of those coins you listed should be fine for profits, however I personally wouldn't mine ZEC because of the 20% tax. Is that 20% tax on Zcash collected at source? mining pool?..Its the first time i have heard about it.. it's the founders tax. everyone has to pay it when transacting with ZEC. it's also the reason why rhett deleted the line in the code and "forked" to ZClassic. This means with a block reward of 10 ZEC you actually get 8 ZEC? The block reward is 12.5, and 10 goes to miners. This stuff isn't new.

More specifically, 10% of the coin supply is paid out to the zcash electric coin company as a bounty for ongoing development. it is not a premine like many. each block 20% of the mining reward goes to hard-coded addresses that they control. This continues for the first 4 years of mining. It's been in the code forever, it's been on their blogs since launch. If you didn't know and you were mining it, it's sorta your own fault. Interestingly... the zencash/horizen team have re-introduced the same thing back into their code. Some of the block rewards go to miners, some to secure/super nodes, and some to their dev fund. People seem to not complain about that one. They keep making their share bigger too.

Just ssh into it and change the miner config

This is turning into a great logistics thread.
Part of buying a chinese asic is the wait, worry, and dealing with international shipping/customs. It's useful conversation

My DHL tracking states:
Further Detail: Shipment has been given a release by Customs.
Next Step: Unless there is an adhoc exam or a stop by another regulatory authority the shipment will proceed to delivery
No mention of customs fee due yet. This was customs at CVG international airport. ERLANGER, KY - CINCINNATI - USA
Batch one was billed by DHL about 20 days after delivery via mailed invoice at 2.6% for me. Don't get too happy yet. I was charged $42 like the other user. And that was just custom fees and service fees, no tariff.

Also ASICminer 40k and 180k are getting released im September. Earnings will drop hard I guess. Don't get me wrong, I ordered one batch 3... :/
asicminer.co is scam... Voskcoin received one so I doubt it's a scam. Care to elaborate ? It's still a fake until he proves it is submitting solutions from the machine. Did you not actually watch the video?

Guys it's pretty fast to just test it. If you won't, I will when I get home. Some fan designs work better this way.

Don't forget about using your own stratum proxy to improve compatibility with pools. You can configure your proxy to work with both on both sides.
|
|
|
24hours is a short period for a pool with less that 5% of nethash
|
|
|
Guys. Stop dealing with those unreliable pools. Just run on luckpool.net or luckpool.org. Solid, zero problems pool. I've used them for a year now on zen.
|
|
|
If I were you (in texas) I'd set them to all turn down to 50% usage for the 8 peak heat hours, or 0% for the peak 4 hours. Electronics do not want to run that hot. Cap life is inverse to operating temp. Silicon transistor MMTF is log inverse to operating temp

I am debating if I should buy the 2nd batch, since I have the $250 coupons?! What are you guys doing with the coupons? I have free electricity included in my apartment cost so I would be happy if I could just ROI in half a year. But I am afraid those will become doorstoppers eventually?!
With free electricity and coupon i'd give you the green light....sounds like zcash is not gonna fork now so you'll always have a coin to mine. Even though all the z9 ever made(and the faster more effecient ones coming out) will be on it with you, you should be good with the free power and the low consumption on this device to at least ROI and not get your apartment supervisor angry at the high power bills(for awhile anyway). But yeah this guy will be a big paper weight in 3-6 months, so if you expect your free power situation to change i'd say no. What are you talking about? Zcash just did a vote at their Montreal conference and will be putting ASIC resistance on the back burner. https://www.coindesk.com/zcash-governance-panel-shoots-research-asic-resistance/By the time they get around to it, ASIC mining will have a strong foothold and the GPU miners will go searching elsewhere for the few scraps left; if not shutting down entirely. Since most of the mining hash will be derived from ASICS, I am sure they will get increasing push back from their ASIC mining community. Who is going to go along with turning their coin making machines into bricks? Same reason s9s are becoming big paper weights...too many s9s and better newer models coming. Also I’d expect all equihash coins to fork including zcash eventually so ya big paper weight one way or another. If I were launching a new coin and I wanted instant hashpower, I'd choose the current equihash params and do something like komodo with cross chain proving to bitcoin. Easy to get people interested in mining your coin if they cant mine anything else lol

The Z9 and A9 only represented a 10x-20x improvement in power efficiency. That's less damaging than 100x.
|
|
|
someone saying that there is a Z9, but that it is only 3X faster than the mini.
I'd imagine it is twice the hash chips, same board design mirrored, and run at 50% higher clock.
