401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Updates from the COPA v Craig Wright trial on: March 07, 2024, 07:17:55 PM
Thank you for your continued coverage of this event.  Any idea when this will be wrapped up?  I get that a specific day isn't possible (or maybe it is?) but perhaps you could give an estimate or a percentage of completion that you believe the trial is?  I'm tired of seeing all this coverage and hope that a loss for Craig means he'll drop this satoshi nonsense and get back to whatever it is he does.  Seeing BSV rally as a result of this trial is a little entertaining though.

If I had a dollar for every time a user accused me of running a Ponzi Scheme only to have it discovered that they are running a Ponzi Scheme… I truly feel sorry for those who got caught up in this mess and won’t hold my breath for an apology from any of you. Some people just can’t be trusted to hold money for others. Now you know.

It's comments such as this that remind me how much I miss Zepher [RIP]

Viz

Ahhh yes.  I remember the Slack scam where someone pretended to be Bobby Lee and scammed 20+ BTC from a user there and then was so generous with their supporters until they overdosed.  Class act.

This is about Bitcoin Penny running a Ponzi though...  I really don't think we need to start investigating and shining a light on the wrongdoing of people who are no longer here.

EDIT: Funny that your post is merited by the guy who ran the friends of satoshi scam...
403  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: STAKE IS SCAM ($12,000) on: March 07, 2024, 06:37:28 PM
yeah, i think the fact that they are telling me i need a utility bill to get my money back shows much incompetence on their part.

It's typically the easiest way to prove your residence because everyone pays utilities.  It isn't like they're asking for your social security card.  It's a little strange that you claim you don't have a utility bil, which I can understand why they would see that as a red flag, but there is certainly some form of mail that comes to your house right?  You aren't the only person to ever exist that doesn't have bills are you?  Why the refusal to provide if you aren't lying about your identity?  It seems odd that all they want is a piece of legitimate mail with your name and address on it, yet you think this is a bridge too far.  Sure, we are all entitled to our privacy, but they have a business to run and have requirements they have to adhere to or they will get shut down.  I don't want Stake shut down because you don't want to provide a utility bill...  That isn't fair to the users who are using the site legitimately.
404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: March 07, 2024, 06:27:08 PM
After taking a look at the schedule for today I decided to go with a couple of my hometown teams.  Smiley  Not much to work with as far as odds, but hopefully this will get me a parlay win and a couple of my home teams some wins.  Given my record as of late, I need this.  LOL.  I am concerned how the Kings will fare against Wemby.  They're sort of a short team.  Either Wemby will be a problem or Sabonis will bully him into irrelevance.

405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 07, 2024, 05:40:23 PM
Shams is reporting that Ben Simmons has now been deactivated for the rest of the season. He had a few flashes of his old self this year but went right back on the disabled list in no time. I think he’s just not wanting to be an NBA player anymore. I wouldn’t give him another contract. His trade to the Nets might be the worst trade of all time.
406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 24 march 2024 : final verdict for SBF. Did you lose funds ? on: March 07, 2024, 04:39:41 PM
FTX came out of nowhere under the guise that their CEO was such a brilliant trader that he made billions trading Bitcoin and started the world’s biggest exchange seemingly overnight. It didn’t pass the sniff test from day 1 and that’s why I never had an account. Pretty much any entity willing to pay you an interest rate on Bitcoin to store your funds is a scam. Nobody can promise interest on Bitcoin because it is a limited resource. As the saying goes, if you don’t know where the yield comes from, you are the yield.
407  Economy / Reputation / Re: Standing Strong Against Unjust Attacks: A Call for Community Support on: March 07, 2024, 04:34:18 PM
I would've quit Bitcointalk by now but seeing this drama still continue is the biggest reason why I'm still around. I will try to be here for every moment of this.

At this point, I think I’ll probably be paying for my new Cybertruck with all the paid posts I made throughout this drama. So I guess I owe a thank you to all the folks who continue to attack me with lies. Without them I’m not sure I would reach such a wide audience. Just make sure to click that signature and sign up for a Stake account. Turn those negatives into a positive. Smiley

409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 07, 2024, 04:17:31 PM
I had posted this along with the fight advertisement but I guess a moderator deleted it and set it not to notify me so I couldn’t easily repost the graphic and all the information here. I won’t bother posting it again, or the link to Jake’s social media post, but it’s out there if you want to search for it and see the actual fight announcement.
410  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: March 07, 2024, 04:11:51 PM
@OgNasty, you are doing exceptionally well, mate.

Thank you. I’ll admit it is difficult to remember to do anything 100 times a day but I’ve impressed myself that I haven’t managed to miss a single push-up yet since I started this challenge. I will admit I have had a few close calls, seeing the clock nearly at midnight and dropping to the floor for my last set. I’m not sure how long I’ll keep this going, but I’m sure when I do miss a day, it will be the result of my memory.
411  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The American primary election. on: March 07, 2024, 04:08:11 PM
The recent news of the Biden administration flying illegal immigrants into the country is grounds for treason in my opinion. He’s actively aiding in the invasion of the United States. The guy should be defending himself from being convicted and punished for treason, not running for another term. Anyone dumb enough to vote for him should be forced to live in a sanctuary city.
412  Other / Meta / Re: Hey Theymos, There Should Be a Demotion Button on: March 07, 2024, 04:02:44 PM
People are obsessed with adding negativity to this site. The last thing the people who have destroyed the trust network’s legitimacy need is a new way to start harassing people on these forums. Take note of the folks that are for this idea and stay far away from them. That’s the best way to improve your forum experience.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 07, 2024, 03:49:36 PM
Looks like we may possibly have a preview of the NBA Finals tonight as the Denver Nuggets face off against the Boston Celtics on national TV. Luckily this one will be on TNT so we can have a chance to watch. Sure, Denver is number 3 in the west right now, but they’re the defending champs. Denver hasn’t been playing great lately though, so I think Boston might take this one.
414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: March 06, 2024, 11:20:59 PM
^ We’ll see. He’s going to be bombarded with podcast requests now. I don’t think he’ll be able to resist. At this point, I am leaning towards this fight not happening or going spectacularly wrong for Garcia. He’s in a downward spiral he needs to fix before trying to move forward. Something is going on with him and I think it is going to have a major effect on his next fight.

Some of the OG's will remember ASIC Miner, one of the first companies in the world that made the ASIC popular and they got their start right here on the Bitcointalk forum, what a story:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smmphyFWkwQ&list=PLgyXCPiFWW1li2e4V460SZNzZo4EnzpZx&index=1

Freaking ASICMiner… I still own a bunch of shares of that (supposedly) and am owed a lot of BTC. A shame that guy disappeared and screwed everyone. I think it was friedcat right? Would be great if any of the old asset issuers from GLBSE came back to give back ANY of what they stole from their victims.
416  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 2011 Casascius Error Coin on: March 06, 2024, 08:01:30 PM
It would also suggest now is a good time to find me and murder me for it.

That's a good point.  There's also 0 chance that you'd get a sale without pictures showing the object when you're talking about tens of thousands of dollars.

I would recommend locking this topic, taking your sweet time to go get some pictures of your Casascius coin, putting it back into it's secure location, then listing again with photos of the condition and proof of ownership so that you aren't putting yourself at risk.  It is great that you mentioned you are willing to accept escrow, as that will go a long way towards establishing trust with a potential buyer.

Good luck with your sale!
417  Economy / Reputation / Re: Standing Strong Against Unjust Attacks: A Call for Community Support on: March 06, 2024, 07:53:16 PM
Good luck.  LOL

Just look at my trust ratings.  I have some negatives from DT members and have protected tens of millions of dollars for people here while never misplacing so much as a satoshi.  Unfortunately, people would rather weaponize trolls against those they disagree with than have a legitimate trust network.  OP's post is even merited by a user who includes a proven extortionist in his trust network.  The hypocrisy among users here is off the charts.  Sadly, those who stand up to the abusers are targeted for years here while regular people stay silent in hopes they won't become the next target.
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: US Spot Ethereum ETF on: March 06, 2024, 07:42:52 PM
https://cointelegraph.com/news/sec-delays-ethereum-etf-applications-blackrock-fidelity
"SEC pushes back BlackRock, Fidelity spot Ethereum ETF proposals
The SEC has again delayed its decision on spot Ethereum ETF applications from BlackRock and Fidelity as analysts continue to tip May as the month to watch."

___
I have no doubt that BlackRock and Fidelity will achieve their goals. But I have big doubts about other cryptocurrencies and the SEC will severely punish other large projects.

If Blackrock wants it to happen, it will happen.  That's just the way the finance world works when you own everything.  For this reason, I too believe that there will one day be a spot Ethereum ETF.  Maybe not as soon as this year, but it will happen.  Too many wall street folks were involved in Ethereum for it not to follow in Bitcoin's footsteps.  I wouldn't go selling your BTC for ETH, but if you've got fresh money looking for a spot to sit, grabbing some ETH and leaving it staked isn't the worst idea.  I think of my ETH holdings like a stock and have some exposure like I do with many companies, but it pales in comparison to my exposure to Bitcoin.
419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the biggest airdrop you've ever received? on: March 06, 2024, 07:37:37 PM
I received an airdrop that I staked several years ago and then eventually turned into ETH and left staked.  It is now worth over $45,000!!!  Granted, it also led me down the path of web3 which easily probably cost me the loss of half that much, but who knows, maybe those NFTs will be worth something someday (wishful thinking).  I'm not mad at it at all though.  I still get something like $3 per day from having this staked and since it's now in Ethereum, the recent gains are also impressive.  I'm very glad I decided to claim that airdrop after coming across it by chance.  I'll probably leave that ETH staked for many more years to come.
420  Economy / Speculation / Re: Digital currencies are soaring, once again, but not every cryptocurrency on: March 06, 2024, 07:16:49 PM

Hah! trying to find this in english (rather than just using a translation of the site) I stumbled onto this article.

Bitcoin

The third cryptocurrency to avoid like the plague in March is none other than the largest and best-known digital currency by market cap, Bitcoin (BTC -2.89%). Bitcoin has nearly quadrupled in value since the start of 2023.

Looks like this retarded site is living up to its name!

Wonder if they are going to quote Cramer next?

as far as I remember I have never ever read a single positive article on Bitcoin from that outlet.  They were already bearish when BTC was under 1k$.. You think they would reconsider their pov being wrong all the time...  But yeah the name checks out..

I seriously ask myself if that's a troll outlet like the bee, but in disguise

Well, they missed the Bitcoin call and they're an organization focused on bringing you the next bit investment.  So I'd imagine this whole Bitcoin and crypto rise is a bit of an egg on their face moment.  Of course they've going to keep doubling down until a correction eventually comes and they can proclaim themselves as the ones who got it right...  Ridiculous, but that's how these outfits operate.  They've got to focus on finding the next Bitcoin, which means trying to steer funds from Bitcoin into their picks.  You see this same behavior on this forum with new coin makers.  They bash the established makers to try and steer customer funds to their own products.  It's nothing new.
