841  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [50H AUCTION] - NastyFans 10oz silver coin on: January 25, 2024, 09:39:15 AM
was fun, if i was positive it could be slabbed by PCGS i might have gone a little more,  congrats to 2stout! =)

Definitely fun but now I'm lighter on sats as a result.

Congratulations on the win!  I haven't seen one of these hit the auction block in some time.  It might also be worth mentioning for anyone who missed out on this auction that they can buy these coins brand new and have them engraved for you after purchasing on the website at https://nastyfans.org/mint with a current price of 0.0216 BTC, which is roughly what this one sold for.  There are also only a handful of these coins remaining so if you're on the fence, one day they will be impossible to get your hands on.  Is this still the largest .999 fine silver coin ever offered here?

If you don’t mind me asking, did you load this coin that was auctioned off or did the seller ?  Was just wondering.  Ty

IIRC, the loadings are distributions from Nastyfans based on seats held.

and the funds are not actually loaded to the coin. your funds will not get xferred to the coin until you have at least .001 per seat - as this is 10 seats you need .01 btc - until you hit that threshhold the funds are held by OG or nastymining or w/e entity they want to call it.

After researching and also checking the blockchain, my understanding is different.  It appears the payout threshold for online seats is 0.0005BTC, and 0.001BTC for minted seats, regardless of the number of seats held as long the the threshold for seat type is met.  Of course more seats would mean proportionally higher payout.  The blockchain shows balances on a lot of the addresses from the distributions.  Also, some of the coin addresses show a pending payout of 0.0006387BTC, which would be about right for a minted seat since the payout threshold for minted seat wasn't met.

I didn’t have anything to do with the threshold so nonnakip would have to answer questions about that but it looks to be 0.001 based on the held BTC in the below json file. I don’t have anything to do with the distributions or holding the funds either. I only hold the funds for NastyMining. Any funds held on behalf of NastyFans seats, minted or otherwise are held by nonnakip.

You can also check the amounts held for minted seats here: https://nastyfans.org/mint.json
842  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 25, 2024, 06:14:15 AM

Just think about it, a $100 per week invested into bitcoin over the last 4 years would have had resulted in more than 1 BTC (at 1.0505), but if you had been wanting to double the quantity of your BTC holdings in a similar amount of time, you may well need to increase your investment rate by 4x to 6x or maybe even more.

This is basically what signature campaigns are about!! A few hundreds dollars of btc each week

It is a nice way to augment your dollar cost averaging into the market. A few hundred dollars a week for posting on the internet never did anyone any harm. With Bitcoin’s extreme value increases over the years, something as small as internet advertising can make a big difference over enough time.
843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: January 25, 2024, 12:49:11 AM
How about this one for a parlay victory?  Had to do something to make up for missed money last week.  Sorry I couldn't post it.  Imagine the Suns being underdogs in that game.  Smiley

I like the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Milwaukee Bucks to both win tonight.  They're both dominant teams.  I'm staying away from the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns game though.  For whatever reason Luka Doncic seems to have the Suns' number.  I would never bet against him, but I'm not sure I can bet against KD the way he's playing either.  That'll be a good one to watch tonight though.
844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 25, 2024, 12:34:17 AM
I still think ultimately for the good of the game of basketball he should pair up with Steph Curry for at least one season. I think that pairing would be like LeBron and Klay on steroids.
Well, that's probably his next move when things don't go with the way he wants it to be. Was it that there were talks about him wanting to transfer in GSW, right? at some point like less than a year ago. Anyway, I am not expecting to have some good things happening with Bucks with Doc's first games with them and that's normal if they get a few loss but I am not trying to be negative as I want to be.

There were talks about him going to Golden State but I think that was mostly fan talk.  However, I believe he still hasn't signed an extension to his contract so I think after this year (or is it next?) he can decide to go wherever he wants.  In my opinion he needs to go somewhere with good defense and shooting.  That to me screams Golden State, but they'd need to hold on to Klay (is he still playing good defense) and Wiggins for their defensive abilities and shooting.  Draymond would be as good as gone.  I don't think it would really matter though.  Steph and Giannis would be a combination that would be impossible for any team to stop.  I think it would be more effective than Shaq and Kobe.  Shocked

Golden state doesn't need lebron, they need more young fresh legs on the team.  Pairing old stars together always fails.  Just because of theor age it's always likely that one or two guys are always out or they get ran off the court by a younger more athletic team.  Also all the bench players feel like they just need to feed the stars holding back what they can offer a team.

I believe we were talking about Giannis, not LeBron.  At least I was.  I think Giannis is the most dominant player in the key that today's NBA has and if he were paired with the best shooter the league has ever seen I think they would be nearly unstoppable.  They'd just need a couple other shooters who can play defense to spread the floor and another big man willing to bang with the opposing team's center every night and they'd be a lock for a couple titles in my opinion.
845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever regretted selling your bitcoins ? on: January 24, 2024, 08:13:03 PM
If you're looking at things financially speaking only, of course you could say you regret selling your BTC.  Who knows what would have happened though.  If I didn't pay off my house and held my BTC instead, what other things would have happened in my life to potentially destroy my BTC holdings?  It's easy to look back and say you'd have more money now if you did this, but you never know the butterfly effect of some things.  Sure, I wish I hadn't spent thousands of BTC on retail purchases and bills back in 2011-2013, but who is to say if Bitcoin would have been a success without early spending, or what the effects of not making those purchases would be.
846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETFs - Good or Bad? on: January 24, 2024, 08:10:49 PM
I see them as mostly good long term, but in the short term there has always been potential for bad.  For example, it was always going to be a buy the rumor sell the news moment, and that's exactly what we've seen.  However, they are sucking up BTC at a pretty huge rate and when the halving occurs and BTC is distributed from hacks and everything else, the amount of buying power being thrown at a limited asset will be more than the market can take.  I did a little number crunching myself last night and came up with a $600,000 BTC price in 20 months.  Higher than any prediction I've ever made, but my ultimate prediction of a $200,000 BTC in the future feels like it is a matter of months away now (maybe 20).
847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saudi Arabia 1M BTC BUY !! on: January 24, 2024, 08:08:09 PM
It's definitely just a rumor at this point and I'm sure it'll happen.  I don't think it has yet though or it would be all over social media as they try to pump their investment.  I think it is likely that the Saudis are sitting on billions and waiting for the right moment to pounce.  If I were advising them, I would tell them to wait for the mtgox distribution and see what 200K BTC hitting the market does to the price.  Then I would scoop up all the BTC I can at the bottom, right up to the price they don't want to buy anymore.  I think this moment is coming in the next 8 months almost for sure.  Possibly even in the next 4.
848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a gambler do you have a potential winning amount limit? on: January 24, 2024, 08:05:57 PM
This is a good question.  I always tell people when making speculative investments that they need to have a number that they will cash out at.  What are they predicting will happen, what is the result, and when that happens what price will you be selling at...  All good questions to have.  As a gambler, I could see why having a profit number would be a good idea and keep you from putting all your winnings right back in.  If you're gambling for profit, it seems like this would be a must have.  I gamble for fun, so it's pretty common for me to put winnings all back in.  My cash out number is probably in the high 6 figures.
849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: While placing bet what comes your mind on: January 24, 2024, 08:03:47 PM
When placing a bet I always consider risk and reward.  If I lose, how will this effect me?  If I win, how will this effect me?  Is it worth taking the risk of losing and facing the consequences of my actions for the glory of the potential win?  Will I have fun either way or will I ruin my night if my bet doesn't land?  These are all things people should look at before risking their money on anything really.  If you ever find yourself in a position where a loss would effect your life or lower your mood, you're better off spending you money on something else.  Even hookers and blow will put a smile on your face...
850  Economy / Services / Re: Twitch Partner Program Service | 100% Success | Viewbot.gg on: January 24, 2024, 08:01:38 PM
I would caution anyone from using things like this to try and fake it til they make it.  The problems with viewbots can be many and can actually keep you from reaching partner if it is detected that this is how you did it.  Not to mention you won't learn how to get real viewers, won't get your chat talking, won't get donations or subscribers...  People will be able to see that you have tons of viewers and no supporters.  That isn't always the best look and I question if anyone has ever reached partner that way.  Still, I think streaming is a growing industry and it's worth getting into if you enjoy it.  If having fake views motivates you, this might be what you need.  Good luck.

852  Economy / Collectibles / Re: WTS - 2013 Casascius S3 .5BTC (funded) Fine Silver Coin on: January 24, 2024, 07:51:52 PM
Wow and even graded in one of the rare anacs (At least I think they are rare now? Definitely not grading cryptos anymore I am aware). I realize that I made a bid on the first auction thread you posted, I would have loved to have won that one for sure! This one honestly is in such great condition I can definitely see you easly shattering the .69BTC price for this one on the last comp and mind you that was .69 on a .5 BTC Cass coin that was completely raw and in pretty rough shape, this is an MS67!!!! Extremely choice piece here! Why not auction it Chibi? Just put a reserve.

I would think he'd get more than 0.69 BTC and would be surprised if he didn't.  The last brass 0.5 BTC Casascius coin I sold was for 0.76 BTC in a private sale with someone on these forums and they were glad to pay it in order to get a coin from someone they trust.  If someone trusts Chi and has been looking for one of these coins, I could see it getting a premium.  Maybe even in the 0.8 BTC range, but it all depends on finding the right buyer.  Some people still mention things like spot silver price when negotiation over these coins.  Good luck!

*PUSH

come on guys..  egoism is a personality disorder  Grin

You aren't giving people anything to go on.  I'll repeat my original question...  How much are you wanting to pay?  Everyone on these forums wants to buy every Casascius coin ever made at some price, so you saying that you are a part of this club that includes literally everyone isn't going to exactly bring sellers out of the woodwork.  You have to give some sort of idea what you want to pay, otherwise we've all reached out and had conversations with lowballers who end up wasting everyone's time.  I don't say this to be rude, but educational.  I want to buy all those Casascius coins too.  The question is if you're willing to pay more than everyone else.

Sure they can, but who's going to pay a bunch of ugly guys for nudes?

Your wife found a husband.  Anything is possible.

I guess my big question is how do you sleep at night with so much of other people's money in your hands?  Do you invest heavily in security and testing?  Are you regularly attacked by malicious actors trying to hack their way to riches?  Do you have insurance to cover the funds of your site's users or another plan if the worst should happen and you wake up with no money in your hot wallet?  Was it difficult maneuvering around regulations when starting or did you takeover an existing entity?  How do you trust developers to work on your code without inserting backdoors?
857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING DISORDER on: January 24, 2024, 07:38:36 PM
How can one control the uncontrollable urge to keep gambling despite the toll it takes on once life.

It's getting worse every day. I'm extremely depressed I have thoughts of unaliving myself more often, some times I feel the betting companies manipulate people spiritually to get them addicted where be playing without plans and strategy. Once a bet place get cut, there is this uncomfortable urge to quickly book another one with the plans of recovering the first money lost but it will end up cutting again.

I guess I can't understand why someone would do something that continues to be a bad time for them.  If you're at the point where you're considering suicide over the vehicle of entertainment you've chosen then do yourself a favor and find some other form of entertainment.  Gaming using a game console isn't all that much different from gambling and you can't lose money (other than wasting it on in game items maybe).  I think finding a form of entertainment you can enjoy and a separate form of employment will work wonders for you.  Gambling isn't a job and I think that's where you're making your mistake.
858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can you still run a 1060 3GB on Nicehash? on: January 24, 2024, 07:36:21 PM
You should make sure you've done the calculations as to whether it's profitable or not before you dive in.  You might find it's a better idea to just buy Bitcoin.  However, I'm still amazed that I'm able to run a few 1080ti's profitably.  Partially thanks to solar energy and partially thanks to living somewhere with dirt cheap electricity.  If you find yourself in a similar position and need the heat this time of year it could be worth it to run, but make sure you know what bet you're making and that you have a path to making a profit.  Unless you're cold, then run that bad boy.

Sorry I didn’t post it, hopefully someone else did. Last week before the crash mtgox sent out another email confirming exchange information to prepare for the distribution of Bitcoin to creditors. This to me is the last step before BTC will be distributed. As such, I assume the selling we’re seeing is people getting in front of the gox distribution.

You guys should just e-hug it out in the metaverse and be friends.

That’s what people have been saying for a long while to them and at first that’s what I thought too but it’s just pointless to say. I think it’ll be never ending until the results from the court are delivered if it ever happens.

No court would listen to this “case” because it is a clear case of a mentally ill person fabricating things in their head. There is no victim, no theft, no wrongdoing of any kind and it’s even all publicly provable on the blockchain. It isn’t a matter of hugging it out. It’s a matter of a mentally ill person needing to get help. Anyone who takes 10 minutes to do the research themselves can see this clearly. Instead people want to act like this is a feud. It isn’t. One side of the “feud” is mentally ill and acts like this is a life or death issue, the other side (me) couldn’t give a fuck about this. I am sorry the forum has to be subjected to this public display of mental illness.
