41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Can Be More Efficient Than Bank Transactions on: September 18, 2018, 01:07:56 PM
Bitcoin is definitely cheap in terms of borderless, over-seas transactions(compared to wire transactions and such). The challenge that bitcoin has right now is transactions that are made when purchasing stuff from your local store or something. Yes, fees are quite cheap right now(a few cents to sub $1),but fees should be cheap enough to be used by 3rd world countries; as I'm pretty sure a good number of people from poor countries aren't willing to pay even for as low as $.20 (trust me, I myself is from a 3rd world country). Here's where lightning network[1] comes in. Hoping for a steady increase in development and adoption.

[1] https://lightning.network/

Need fees that serve microtransactions, and preferably a decentralized option besides LN.
42  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin (BTC) down $200 on: September 18, 2018, 01:04:02 PM
A 200 dollar drop is nothing nowadays, just be patient and keep calm, maybe even take some advantage of the situation Wink

43  Economy / Economics / Re: Facebook now joining btc? on: September 18, 2018, 12:40:54 PM
I think sooner or later it will happen. because Facebook is the cheapest promotion for bitcoin

But facebook doesn't need to promote bitcoin.
If it will bring them enough advantages, they will.
44  Economy / Economics / Re: China Central Bank Warns of Cryptocurrency, ICO Risks in Public Notice on: September 18, 2018, 12:31:22 PM
How is this news, they have been whining, bitching, restricting, banning and unbanning everything in the past year. No care.
45  Economy / Economics / Re: CHINA BLOCKS ACCESS TO OVER 120 EXCHANGES on: September 16, 2018, 06:17:16 PM
China is total oxymoron. They try to make their economy bigger. On the other hand, they try to ban/censor everything which threatens their government (not state). I think eventually this oxymoron situation will finish.

That's because they are trying to get their economy up while trying to remain in full control of everything.
46  Economy / Economics / Re: Please, we should not totally eliminate fiat currency on: September 16, 2018, 06:15:28 PM
Lmao you say that like it's our choice. Even if everyone who owned Bitcoin wanted to replace fiat, it's not going to happen. They're going to exist for as long as governments exist, and there are no indicators that the entire world will fall into anarchy anytime soon.

All people can really do is choose not to use fiat, and the hope is that Bitcoin would actually make that choice feasible.
People would certainly choose cryptocurrency over fiat in the future, however we are still currently living in the present day where fiat serves a good role on transaction and in the market that would really help Bitcoin and cryptocurrency to experience changes and development.

What about the people that do not want all their transactions displayed on a blockchain? They have to jump through hoops to make anon transactions?
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: To everyone converting BTC to ETH on: September 16, 2018, 06:09:55 PM

iii. NXT offered asset exchange, while ETH offers smart contract. Both of these functionality, which they claim to make them unique, are actually possible on bitcoin blockchain, which is far more secure.

Aah good ole centralized nxt.
It makes you wonder what will happen to eth once smartcontracts on the btc chain have become a reality.
48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is ETF Really Effect the Bitcoin/BTC on: September 16, 2018, 06:04:45 PM
In my opinion ETF approval can only add to Bitcoin's popularity and demand whereas getting rejected by Security Exchange commission will not make it less valuable which will cause a dip in price. So, ETF can only affect Bitcoin's price in positive way. I see no reason for it to damage Bitcoin's reputation or demand.

Have you thought about what wll happen to Bitcoin if ETF were to be rejected? DOOM!!!

Why? Bitcoin has always been traded without etf's, bitcoin doesn't need it.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: My account hacked coins stolen ; any advise on: September 14, 2018, 12:16:54 PM
Can you give us more information? What account was hacked? What did you do? I'm pretty sure Etherscan(if you're referring to https://etherscan.io/) was never a wallet service, only a blockchain explorer to trace wallets and transactions.

Yes you are right; it was https://etherscan.io/.
did you already email support team about this?

etherscan is just an explorer..
50  Economy / Economics / Re: If the stocks market will crash again like 2008, what will happen to bitcoin on: September 14, 2018, 12:15:21 PM
Bitcoin can't be considered as a good alternative for investments, huge investors don't like huge risks, 1% movement is a lot for them and it happens daily on bitcoin. It can even decrease by 10% or rise the same in one day. Also there are a lot of plans to recover from market crashes but just imagine why will stock holders invest money in bitcoin? It's a question of doubt but I highly believe that won't happen.
Btw if they would invest in bitcoin in 2008 year, it would be a huge success for them.
It's not as bad as you think it is. Investors can and likely will go by allocating 1-5% of their portfolio to Bitcoin in order to hedge risks of the traditional market. It's the best way to move forward, especially in today's world.

The stock market is boiling around all time high levels with insane valuation ratios. Historically, the traditional market doesn't keep going up endlessly. It cycles through various phases and the next one is the correction.

It probably will result in a bear market lasting a year or two at the very least. The stock market is really a ticking time bomb as we speak, and it's waiting for the first institutions to unload billions worth of stocks triggering a domino effect.

Indeed, I do think more investors might start to see cryptocurrency investments as a relative safe haven, if the stock market experiences another severe crash.
With how things are going currently, I wouldn't be too surprised if we witnessed another big crash soon.

Turkey's currency is about to collapse and a lot of European countries rely on a strong Lira.

After that, there will be a domino effect taking more nations with it.

Hasn't the lira been shit for years?
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hacked by a poor hacker on: September 14, 2018, 12:14:24 PM
Just want to share my experience for a week ago.my wallet was hacked  by a poor hacker  in my opinion because in my wallet not more than $200 and the hacker was hacked only $80 when eth for the gas  transaction was run out.very so sad when we waiting for the best price and i will sell it but it was hacked

There are many of these "poor" scumbag hackers out there.
In the end karma will get them.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: My account hacked coins stolen ; any advise on: September 14, 2018, 12:11:56 PM
Deal with your loss and find out how your account got compromised, most likely you have visited a phishing site.
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is a poor form of money for terrorists. on: September 14, 2018, 12:10:32 PM
Crypto is a poor form of money for jihadists because they usually need to purchase goods with cash often in areas with unreliable technology.

According to this Forbes article

So they don't have computers, bitcoin merchants, fibre optics or 4G coverage in the dusty dessert or hideout hills.

According to Yaya Fanusie, director of analysis for the Foundation For Defense of Democracies Center on Sanctions and Illicit Finance: “Cold hard cash is still king"

So will they ban cash to prevent terrorism ? That would be some good hype to get the next bull run started !

No no ofcourse not, only crypto is used for terrorism.
Cash, cars, knifes, cellphones, computers etc are all fine and are never used for terrorism. Roll Eyes
54  Economy / Economics / Re: Why I am not sharing my crypto love? <3 on: September 13, 2018, 11:53:00 AM
I wanted to say that I have stopped sharing my crypto interest with close mates of mine.
Because they will became greedy and jealous for that money they could have too.
But the problem is that they are seeing a results of hard intense and long work! My tokens sometimes costed me like 3 months of work, (not the hardest, but anyway).
And the are saying then - teach me how to do that! Teach my now in half hour! So I would have my $1000 tomorrow!
And then they are trying to do something here for 5 days, nothing comes so fast and they give up,
also the relations are harmed...

Thanks for your attention folks! Nice days!

They don't want to learn about crypto, they just want to get that fast money without really working for it.
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is near end, proof block 2 on: September 13, 2018, 11:46:54 AM
Could you explain, how can a market with fair supply and demand be a ponzi scheme?

Fyi this is the definition of a ponzi scheme:

A Ponzi scheme (/ˈpɒnzi/; also a Ponzi game) is a form of fraud in which a purported businessman lures investors and pays profits to earlier investors using funds obtained from newer investors.

56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum price killing a lot of new ICO tokens on: September 13, 2018, 11:32:59 AM
Series of tokens have been developed and some are still in the ICO. Those that have been completed and listed on exchange are really suffering a big blow in term of loss of value in the exchanges. The new ones are scared of being listed on exchange at the moment because of the market situations at the moment and the effects it could possibly have on their tokens' value.

They are scared because most of them run useless tokens that shouldn't have any value in the first place.  Roll Eyes
57  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Leave Crypto? on: September 12, 2018, 12:42:11 PM

how can we leave crypto !! We see the crypto market is currently very large, investors are now starting to invest their money here. crypto market is slowly growing with the technology in it, making the crypto market worthy of consideration.

Don't leave before we go mainstream at least  Wink
58  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela In Chaos - Massive 95% Devaluation -new Bolivar pegged to state crypto on: September 12, 2018, 12:40:08 PM
It would have better if they have simply pegged the value to gold instead to ensure it is a more stable currency. At the very least peg it to the bitcoin! I'm sure that eventually the whole of the venezuelan economy will be crypto based, we will see the streets lined with prices in sats, petro, eth, and tether

I can't take this "state crypto" serious, but I do think that just the technology being used is a step in the right direction.
59  Economy / Economics / Re: Money Matters on: September 12, 2018, 12:37:30 PM
if money is not everything, then why do we work to earn a living? at least, we would have been spending more time doing what we classify as ''everything'' rather than working. the fact is, money is everything, nothing that can be done without money.

Good point, looks like money is at least some sort of a gateway to happiness. Although it can never replace loved ones, like family.
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Explained on Netflix on: September 11, 2018, 06:37:28 PM
It is mostly negative. There is too much emphasis placed on Silk Road, and hardly any emphasis placed on the potential benefits.

I don't know what's better, posting this video on netflix or just not posting anything at all. Roll Eyes
