1  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] K&T Crypto Hosting Services (20171126 Capacity reached) on: March 27, 2018, 11:54:38 AM
Hello, what is situation with this hosting currentlly?   Does anybody have problems with the service?  Does Tony react on time?

That's a question. Tony does not react to my emails about miners being offline for significant time ( day and more ).
Sent two emails over last two months and trying to acquire some info about capacity and possible expansion plans but no reaction at all.

At these circumstances I would suggest you to look somewhere else until they sort things out.
2  Other / Meta / Re: Point me to undermerited posts on: March 01, 2018, 05:48:38 PM
Thank you all, I see some nice proposals.

@Hero of Legendary I surely do like that one.

@Jet Cash Yea, but thing is I'm lazy and don't want to search for them. That's why I asking others to show me specific ones (you know, quick job: click, see it's a good one indeed, brief check author's history, eventually sending merit ).

Still have some, so keep proposing.
3  Other / Meta / Point me to undermerited posts on: February 28, 2018, 08:58:37 PM
I have some spare sMerit which I don't intend to keep. Would much rather pass to some1 who deserves it (so he can pass it further etc.) but I simply don't know to whom.
So asking you to show me posts/members you think deserves to be merited and point up why.
I will review myself and decide.

Hints: looking for various guide makers, useful software coders, hardware manufacturers (those who make useful HW at home/garage), useful web admins, general supporters ...

WARNING:
- no beg (beggars will be red marked)
- no PM, so others can see your proposal as well (PM beggars/spammers will be published)
- do not post your own topics
- will skip proposal made by members registered after this post was made (so don't even bother)
- not going to provide any reasoning why the proposed one was not merited
- make it simple, just provide link and brief reason
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Silly comments from people not knowing on: February 27, 2018, 10:37:44 PM
Recently a friend of mine told me: I'm looking forward when the originator turns it off.
Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
Immediately a "holly hop drive" (for those who don't know it's from red dwarf serial) pop up in my mind and that he thinks someone has such box in basement.

I'm quite sad he did not let me explain why that's not possible.

Share comments you've heard about BTC from person not knowing what he's talking about. But please keep this at funny level without any insults.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash does not detect the graphics card on: February 27, 2018, 07:18:15 PM
What GPU we are talking about? My guess is nicehash does not support older GPUs or laptop integrated cards.
And you have single physical CPU so one is detected (of course it loads all 4 cores).
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can i mine bitcoin on my Xiaomi Mi 6 on: February 27, 2018, 10:44:11 AM
In theory: Yes you can.
BUT
Another question is. Will you mine anything?  ... the answer is NOT.

Don't try it at all. Not even the hi-end CPUs and GPUs are able to compete with ASICs in BTC mining.
You can try some altcoins but that's very same story.

You simply can't mine anything with your "plastic shovel" while huge excavators are mining all around you.
7  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: February 27, 2018, 10:26:51 AM
hope i have done this because now my account has been hacked and i have only email proof Sad

Lesson learned. Don't make same mistake twice and do it now.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥[GUNBOT] Automatic Poloniex Profit Generator🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 on: January 29, 2018, 11:49:18 PM
"we couldnt get a bought price for BTC-ETH, Please manually override it using config.js
 what is this?"

You have ETH balance but bot does not have record what was the buying price (you either deposited ETH, bought it maually or using your bot on another device without proper history import).
Check wiki to see how to override bougth_price.

go to https://github.com/GuntharDeNiro/BTCT/wiki/Configuring-Gunbot#pairs  and check picture in Pairs section ... (instead of DOUBLE_UP  use BOUGHT_PRICE and set the correct price)
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW] Bitmain Announces Antminer A3 on: January 29, 2018, 11:32:20 PM
Okay forum helpers. shutefight has present hatred to share here with miners community. Bitmain is kind of devil spirit to drink blood of women and babies. I make miner loud with new plug in mining farm. Get so hot in chicken coup I cant sleep there. I goes out to barn and while making sleep chicken coup goes on fire!!!! it cant be gone away so is just ashes now!! No chickens. no miner. no chicken coup. now wife has hate on me to leave me and take babies!!!!  Bitmain then sucks more blood. sells more miners for $900!!!! Never shutefight have this big evil and hate to a person in life. I peaceful man but should have army to have war to bitmain. Howthis terrible hate enemy of man be alive??!!!?Huh!!!!!!!!!

I take it the chicken coop didnt have air conditioning ? lol

it caught fire ? you might want to have monitored the chip temperatures ... LOL

miner loud mean miner VERY HOT! Grin

"miner loud" means miner was running ("miner quiet" was miner without power cord)  Cheesy

@shutefight  I found that hard to believe as miner has temp sensor and AFAIK there is option to stop hashing if temp exceeds given value (at least my L3+ has this option).
Unless you turn it off (which I doubt you knew how to do it). But if that's true, reason is more likely a low quality cord.

I has more hard to believe than you. Fireguys come too late. head fireguys say I have 10 amp breaker and was oldwires and not strong. I make frequency on miner 800 so makes lost sia coin from quiet time. I learned this from famus picture guy vosk. he saying more high frequency more high sia coins to sell. this forum tries to help shutefight but shutefight breaks mirror 4 years ago. I has bad luck since then. now nothing else to lose so i will making war on evil devil place bitmain. i watch punisher movie over and over for ideas to bring terrible pain to bitmain.....

Any pics? Maybe there will be some good soul to donate you few coins. I doubt that but you can try.

But don't blame bitmain. It's completely your error.
1 - delivery without power cord is mentioned on their site (in the very first sentence).
2 - you was not aware what breaker you have nor the wiring ... there is plenty warnings all over the asic related threads about doublecheck exactly those things before you purchase any miner.

Also this has nothing the do with luck. Even the luckiest person in the world would not run it on 10A breaker for long time.

If you don't know how it works then do not invest in or ask experienced guy for assistance.  But it's to late, lesson learned.

Bitmain is offering $800 coupon for obelisk coupon holders. https://twitter.com/BITMAINtech/status/957620387558260736

Interesting development. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing... Seems like a good thing for SIA at this point.

And Obelisk has responded

@jsufree @BITMAINtech We have had no communication with Bitmain, they tweeted this without speaking to us first.

Why should be obelisk involved in this at all? Maybe the only reason could be them to confirm the people claiming the coupon really bought the obelisk  .. (but this can be done without them ...  I guess by providing the email with invoice or w/e).

Bitmain crushes the competitor and taking over it's customers ... well it's not honest but this is what business is about. Nothing unusual.
Must say it's well played by bitmain - checkmate.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help! Motherboard backing surface on: January 29, 2018, 07:49:48 AM
so it's just foam glued?

maybe i'll just cut up motherboard box instead, cable tie the screw holes into the cardboard

Yep, In past i had MB just lying on piece of cardboard. Better to use some spacers (any piece of plastic or few layers of cardboard) as well just to allow the air flow.
I feel we should warn you to not use the antistaic bag (have seen few people doing that) it's conductive.
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How ranking works ? on: January 29, 2018, 07:29:52 AM
Thanks. but read the whole sentence.

" If you made one post in 35 different periods you would then have 35 posts and 35 activity but a potential activity of 480. That means you would be a Junior Member but if you made the full 480 posts you would instantly become a Hero Member."

politely asking for more explanation about this.

I don't understand as well. Where did you get it? Some sort of "how to quick rank up" calculator?

I see potential activity as the most possible activity you could eventually earn:  14(max activity you can earn per period) * 35 (periods) = 490 .. maybe thats it?

BUT as said above ... rank is no more only about post count (thank god) ... so this discussion is useless because you need merit as well (and getting merit is much more harder).

Here is the source.     https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2766177.0
you can find the words that I have highlighted withing the first paragraph of the thread.

Yep, than it's as I said above ( but small miscalc  35*14 is 490 not 480 ).
I'm no longer willing to discus this topic ... as in my POV anybody who is focusing to activity and how to rank up does not belong here.

Just be heplful, make reasonable posts and be patient ( let the rank up to be your surprise )

This one might help you to figure it out:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0

Furthermore, with the old ranking system, which only depends upon number of activities. In terms of activities, you can reach maximum 14 activites for each two-week period, nothing more even you post hundreds of posts during those two-week period.

New ranking system has added merit scores as one of pre-requisite for ranking up. Please read the topic via the link I give you for more details. Merit system is a hot topic recently in the forum.

Thanks. But what does it mean by " If you made one post in 35 different periods". That's what I don't understand. What does it mean by " One post in different period ?. How do we make one post in different periods ?. That what I want to know.

That was probably example of low count poster.
period = 2 weeks
If you made only 1 post during each period (1st post during w1-2, 2nd post during w3-4, 3rdpost during w5-6 ....)  then after 70 weeks (35*2)  your activity will rise to 35.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why not have a referral link section? on: January 28, 2018, 02:49:19 PM
There are actually 2 sections for ref. links
1 - your signature
2 - trashcan (one drawback with that: it's restricted to staff members)

EDIT:

As far as I understand referral links are not welcome in this forum. So I thought why not have a dedicated section where everybody can post their referral links?
Just take a look at Games and rounds section. There's constant worthless posts (apparently the only place that users can post ref links).
For instance, see this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1412411.30860

There's no point in having such sections or rather a dedicated section for such things.

First, we already have referral board which I believe the ANN board (correct me if I'm wrong) where you can post anything about your referral.
Wrong, that's not allowed.
I have seen links here like "how to make btc" and it contains referrals.is that different?

Such posts won't be there for long ... it takes time mods notice it and move to correct section (see #2 above)

I making Bitmain my hate enemy. They drive big carrot to my anoose. I not mining this coin from no plug. Now quiet miner make my family eat just rice and I sell them lie of making Sia and getting meat. Bitmain will get poop package. I'm swearing to you.

Comment of the year!

Yea. But I feel sorry for family having father who invested food money in mining equipment.

@shutefight  How about spending the rent money as well to buy few more miners ... perhaps the situation gets better  Grin

Nice rig you have. Seems like professional work. Build your own?
Problem is most users won't share the most profitable coin (because if they do, you'll start mining it, then some others and difficulty will rise lowering their profits ) ... best coin is always search your own

have you tried https://whattomine.com  also you can use some autoswitching pool like https://miningpoolhub.com
