161  Economy / Exchanges / Re: first purchase on: September 12, 2017, 01:56:49 PM
To get started, I purchased 250 dollars worth of bitcoin from the coinbase exchange.  My hope is with this I can learn how to send and receive to a blockchian wallet on my iphone and the process of backup etc.  I made the purchase Sept 10. and my account now shows funds available Sept 16.  6 days?  this is worse then moving money from a bank to my stock broker.  A paper check is faster.

Is there a simple explanation? Is this normal for most exchanges?

What payment method you have used? I'm pretty sure the delay has been caused on the fiat side of this trade (coinbase waiting for receiving your money to their account).
BTC transaction is matter of minutes if sent with proper fee.
162  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bittrex deposits? on: September 12, 2017, 03:44:52 AM
How long does it take for a bittrex BTC deposit to show? It has been a few hours and I did a test BTC transaction and I see it in pending deposits.

On the right side you should see x/y
(x = how many confirmations the transaction currently has, y = after how many confirmations it will be credited to your account)

Hello, ive been struggling to add a file to a private message. How do i add a file to pm?

You can't send files via PM ... just imagine the bandwidth of thousands users sending files each other through forum.

Upload it to some filehosting and provide the link.
167  Economy / Digital goods / Re: WTS The Method That Earned Me Over 4 Bitcoins In A Month on: September 09, 2017, 12:59:06 AM
Caution, I'm pretty sure OP is alt of: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=943029

Why?
This is one of OPs proof tx. https://blockchain.info/tx/bb299fa814ec606c7022d09063548f2f9614d968f1a2a368b454ef430bff116a   (https://ibb.co/j7F9Ta  the 3 BTC tx)
Receiving addy is same as in: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1824282.0

My guess? I think the claimed 4BTC profit is actually the amount he scammed in above mentioned topic (excusing he lost them in roulette).

169  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining? Good, Bad, Ugly? on: September 07, 2017, 11:38:13 PM
C`mon cloud mining in 2k17? Completely unprofitable and useless thing.
C`mon, show some respect to newbie (we all have been once).

I dare to oppose your opinion as I disagree with your total generalization.
There are two companies I'm pretty sure can be useful (namely hashnest and bixin) when used correctly. ( the thing is you can't count with easy profit just from the mining. Users have to constantly buy/sell hashes to make profit ).
170  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Alcheminer Scrypt 205 MH/s, loud and angry, free US shipping, only 15 LTC on: September 07, 2017, 11:23:40 PM
I'm SHOCKED that no one wants this brilliant piece of hardware. Just think of the innovative uses for it:

  • Run it in your basement as a sonic pest repellent.
  • Run it in your backyard shed to annoy the neighbors you hate.
  • Run it in your mother-in-law's house <-- probably the best option.
This made me sincerely LOL. You must be a great seller IRL (if not you should become one).
I will add the miner could work as mole repellent when placed in backyard (and if located correctly you can repel them towards the neighbor you hate).

Thing is the efficiency ( 250MH at 2.4 kW ) is pretty bad when compared to vast amount of L3+ being constantly released and incoming innos. A4+ which makes further profitability disputable).
Hope you'll find person who hates his neighbours so much to worth buying it.

Sorry for invading your topic... at least you have free bump from my side.
171  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Similar cloud mining as Hashnest ? on: September 07, 2017, 09:52:40 PM
Hello,

can someone please suggest cloud mining similar to Hashnest - where you can buy and sell your hash power anytime you want ? I do not want to be be engaged with long term contracts.....

Bixin.
172  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining? Good, Bad, Ugly? on: September 07, 2017, 09:20:34 PM
BAD.

I have tried few contracts in past and was able to make some profit ( but mainly due to refs. and I'm not proud of that now).

You might be lucky and ROI but consider this:
Your contract "will expire once profitability is null for the cloud miner".
As you probably know BTC price floats quite significantly. It's not a big secret it could drop under the edge of your contract being profitable for few hours, days maybe weeks .. but the price can (and most certainly will) come up again (making it profitable again). But they just cancel you contract and resell your hashes again. Is this fair? I don't think so. If you would be the miner you would either sell the equipment or just pause the mining for the while (or take the risk and keep mining).

In general you can consider mining contracts as well calculated to be profitable for operator rather then customers.
Great example is hashflare, once they realized the contracts being to much profitable for customers, they changed the terms see:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2139246.0

...snip...

If you pick it up locally I would prefer cash in DKK. Shipping and escrow is at the buyer’s expense.

As you can see all of it has already been packed and a ready to be sent.

Please I will appreciate if anyone can give more light on how does codes works when joining a SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN

What code?
All you need is to put the given signature ( I guess this is what you mean by the code ) in to your signature space.
177  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Pre order innosilicon on: September 07, 2017, 04:38:25 AM
WTF with Silicons? Huh Angry

I preordered the A4 in July, for August-September delivery, now I am offered to pay extra and wait for December. its SCAM? How can this be? they risk the honest name of Charlie Lee, who praised them on his Twitter account.

I paid the money and waited two months to hear it?

And didn't they offer you to pay extra for upgrade to A5? (I've heard there will be such option, not sure tho).
On the other hand, they are well known for postponing pre-order deliveries (delivering later then originally promissed).

EDIT: Sorry my fault, I meant A4+  (thanks HagssFIN Wink  )
178  Economy / Services / Re: [ASSIST] - purchasing Antminer ASIC on: September 07, 2017, 03:29:58 AM
The thing you mention any one can do it by there own sir why they need your service and why they pay you . Also you are not sure if they accepted or not  " If successful I will provide you proof and ask you to escrow the funds (at your cost) "

i am not getting why you started this service as you are not 100% sure i they accept it or not by you also .. IF you are 100% sure if you accept it then everyone will take your service

I'm pretty sure you have not tried to buy any of last few batches. Check bitman twitter (and history) ... there is a LOT of people who were not able to finish the order.
Go ahead and try to buy some ( now you have chance ).

I'm definitely sure this way is much better than what most people here do: Creating order, not paying it and then selling the accounts (if not sold they just wasted the capacity making serious customers/miners angry ).
Just giving people an opportunity to raise their chances in purchasing some.

But true, I forgot bitmain can refuse my order. Will update the OP with "payable after order confirmed (valid)".
179  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please Help me to start with bitcoin on: September 07, 2017, 03:17:19 AM
Hey buddy, welcome  to crypto.

I have no favorite online wallet (see answer to Q. 1).

nicehash is good mining software (user friendly, easy to use as you don't need to care converting mined coins to BTC ). Definitely recommended for newbies.

The only online mining companies I trust are: hashnest, bixin and BW. ( all others are just scam or very close to scam .. try to avoid them)
Why those three? Because they are big players in this industry, running for long time.
NOTE: You will not earn much just from the mining. You need to constantly buy/sell hashes to make some profit (this is case of hashnest, bixin ... BW offers only contracts)

1: Whats the difference between Online wallets and Wallet software (I dont know how to explain this, but I know that there are some softwares that you download that weighht like 110GB and act as your wallet)
Most online wallets will not provide you with privatekeys (which is the key to bitcoins held by address) .. this means you have just their IOU promise.

2: What is Bitcoin Core?
Basic (original) software (GUI) used to communicate with bitcoin network.

3: Now Im rocking "NiceHash Miner 2.0.1.1 Beta"  as miner and "blockchain.info" as wallet. Is this good set-up?
Yea, nothing against.

Quote
4: I know this may sound very very very stupid but do this actually work? It seems too good to be true to earn 2 USD a day by just IDLEing  my PC  (http://prntscr.com/gi1y63) (and yes, I am aware of the electricity bill).

It's not idleing. Your GPU actually works pretty hard and wears off.

180  Economy / Services / [ASSIST] - purchasing Antminer ASIC on: September 07, 2017, 01:50:40 AM
Hi, we all know buying an antminer is a pain in the ass. High demand, crappy website, lot of bulk buyers, speculators etc.
I'm willing to assist you with purchasing your beloved miner (for small fee of course).

EDIT: Based on this tweet it seems this offer is not necessary anymore.

I hate people who just order them without actual intention to buy it (and blocking them from others) thus I first collect the demand and then will try to fill it up.

Here's how it should work:

1 - Send me PM request and provide order details (see below)
2 - I will create new email at mail.com (this one does not require phone nr.) and register new bitmain account (will try to use similar nick as you have on this forum).
3 - I will order specific nr. of miners with specific delivery address and payment method.
4 - If successful I will provide you proof and ask you to escrow the funds (at your cost) - just reminding BTC, LTC payments are time limited so we had to be quick (thus I prefer no escrow or purchasing via USD wire. with trusted members I might go first).
5 - Once i'm paid (or funds escrowed) I will hand over both email and bitmain account to you (you should immediately a link phone nr, 2fa etc. to secure it).

For this service I'm going to charge 1% fee (total order sum) payable in BTC (pay me after your order being validated by bitmain)
This is my BTC addy: 1Ko4s5YUHnF2JxjUmFL953QCu1yB8vsaZ6

Interested?
PM with:
- miner you want and amount (w or w/o PSU)
- preferred payment method

Disclaimer:

Your personal info is strictly confidential (I will never share or give/sell it to third party).
